GeNeRaL 06-11-2005, 12:25 AM I think that list is great for "influential" but not the BEST movies for martial arts. those are two different things to rate a martial arts movie on.
tony22 06-11-2005, 04:09 AM Enter the dragon
Chups 06-22-2005, 04:35 PM Can anybody tell me what enter the ninja was? It sounds familiar. Was that Sho Kosugi?
Chups 06-22-2005, 04:36 PM Best is that Bruce Lee vs. Chuck Norris Movie.
msocearnaigh 07-28-2005, 11:08 AM enter the ninja was a film starring franco nero if im not mistaken.i seen it when i was a kid and thought it was rapid.how good it was really(action wise) i cant say.its main star was a serious actor with minimal training so that says a lot!
i much preferred "sanjuro"and "yojimbo"to 7samurai but i wouldnt say they were great ma films.they were character driven movies.a much better film for action is "shogun assassin",theres some great action/technique in that.
marvdave 07-28-2005, 12:52 PM Enter the Dragon
Return of the Dragon
Bloodsport
The Octagon

that's a good list for most influential. Of that list I'm really only a fan of Seven Samurai, Karate Kid, Enter the Dragon, and Rumble in the Bronx. I didn't care for The Matrix and was disappointed with Crouching Tiger and Billy Jack.
Haven't seen the others.
A couple other favorites of Jackie Chan:
Jui kuen (1978) aka Drunken Master (original) with Jackie Chan (1978): http://imdb.com/title/tt0080179/combined

martial arts is far from my favorite genre. If this was a westerns thread, I wouldn't even bother posting. There's a few martial arts titles I like - but you know I'm not a fan of the genre when I'm disappointed at Hero and Crouching Tiger and I'd rather watch Mortal Kombat or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles...
I liked the absurd 'Unleashed' more than any other Jet Li movie I've seen so far...lol
LHWchamp5 07-29-2005, 01:39 AM Aight I finished the Redux of Tito gettin whooped HL, If you dislike Tito Ortiz than this vid is for you, I'll make a new thread and post it in the mornin eastern time...
