What are you thoughts of Floyd Mayweather Sr?

Jack brought him up a few days ago saying he was one of the greatest trainers ever...

I actually think he was a good trainer...He was the one who created Mayweather...

Many say he ruined DeLaHoya but I think DeLaHoya ruined himself..

His also great cuz I got his autograph!:D

What are your thoughts on him

The guy is a great trainer.

If you're a fighter who's willing to give it your all day in and day out and take what you learn from him in the ring with you, he's the right trainer for you.

People like George Foreman don't like him, they think he ruined Oscar De La Hoya.

Let me tell you something, Oscar De La Hoya is a rich boy.

Enough said.

Mess with the opacity of certain fighters, if you want the transparent. Add a drop shadow to a fighter if you want a shadow behind them. Play with lighting effects a bit to get those star like things in there. It's not too difficult, really.

I think Mayweather is a really good trainer. What Jack said is true about De la Hoya, too. He's rich, he doesn't need to fight anymore, so he doesn't have the will to. That's why Mayweather looks bad with him.

Worst trainer in boxing today. I don't care what anyone says, he did ruin De La Hoya. How is fighting with your hands down by your waist going to benefit anyone? And what about some constructive critisism, all he says is "that was crap".

All I know is Senior must have gotten hit in the head alot cause he slurs his words in the corner almost as bad as freddie roach.

Yes he did ruin delahoya he took away that killer instinct to go for the kill. De la hoya fought the way he wanted to fight when he fought vargas. Oscar has not had a knockout and probally will never have a ko with a top guy cause of his new style I like the oscar of old.

Well all I can say is, Mayweather Sr must be doing something right in the gym with these guys, Coz' when I hear him in the corner giving instructions it's almost embarrassing at times!

Just one off the top of my head - I remember Mayweather Sr in the corner of Oscar De La Hoya vs Shane Mosley II, and after the 1st round he was shouting at De La Hoya... "He's tired MAN!... He's really TIRED!" and I thought even Oscar De La Hoya was looking at him thinking, "NO HE'S NOT!"...

:dunno:

There's been many many more occasions where I've just cringed!

The turning point of that fight was the 8th round when Mosley whooped De La Hoya. Up to that point De La Hoya was controlling the fight. Mayweathers advice before that round "just for 1 round i want you to open up and go after him" or something to that affect. wtf??? Why wouldn't you just stick with what was working?
