Sport needs some activity

LoL
I meant big fighters
Chavez jr is basically havin his amateur career right now, so he's just building up and gettin experience but his got activity to lol
hectari 06-04-2005, 01:22 AM The reason why fighters only fight 1 or 2 times a year is because either they cannot get the fights they want, or because they get paid alot so they can fight when they want for big money and secure there health.
It works all the same you have to create a name for yourself all young fighters fight like crazy 8 to 9 fights a year sometimes.
when you create a name like delahoya then you can fight 1 a year.
why fight many times its a rough sport.

Once a year?
Ever realise why not many fans like DeLaHoya, he thinks his so good that when he fights its like a once in a lifetime thing
Look at Castillo, Cotto, Morales, and Barrera...
When was the last time(or first time) you hear the people chant like that for Klitschko or De La Hoya?
I don't remember...not for a LONG time...

Doesnt matter about chants hahah, the proof is in the pudding OSCAR DELA HOYA and MIKE TYSON put butts in seats every single time they fight and they can fight joe nobody! they can fight one a year and that is what makes people want to watch it more because it is like a once in a lifetime thing! People pay to watch oscar you either pay as a fan or to see someone smash his pretty face, people pay for tyson because he is a legend and most non boxing fans think he still has it if they followed boxing they would know what level tyson is at.
Would you want to keep fighting and get bashed in the head and retire with brain damage and not able to enjoy your fruits of your labor?
!! Mr. Soprano 06-04-2005, 01:36 AM Hmmm..
Lazy and Inactive are two different things!
But when I think "inactive"
Chris Byrd is the first one that pops in my head.
But then again, can you name one active champ that has at least 3 fights a year and puts his belt on the line?
Once you get to that stage, it's more of quality vs. quantity.
And in reverse, any young and hungry contender would be a helluva lot more active.
Thus, this one is kind of self explanatory.

Mike Tyson was inactive cuz of his knee...so he ain't lazy....
I'm sure Tyson would sell out if he fights every month...
De La Hoya is just overrated with the public, thats why he gets butts in seats....
That is why lot of people hate De La Hoya..
You aren't makin much sence man

It's ok to not fight 3 times every year
but look at DeLaHoya...
He just aint got the hunger...
Hectari acts like it's a bad thing to fight..
DeLaHoyas done..

^ you can't even spell "SENSE" man.
I make a ton of sense you really do not know the business aspect of sports, these fighters are fan favorites dela hoya has mass appeal ala sugar ray leonard.

^ok now stop telling me how I act or think! I never said it was a bad thing not to fight, I was explaining why a fighter like oscar does not fight much, and you make no sense with your thread inactive and lazy are two different things.
Lazy is RIDDICK BOWE someone who does not train and hates it, another example is mike anchondo.
You listed fighters who have not been active as much as lazy! that makes no sense....
Mayweather trains hard, De la hoya trains hard, and vitali trains hard just because they are not fighting does not mean they are lazy and vitali is injured.

ok that was a typo...
but I never said DeLaHoya and Klitschko are lazy as in they are couch potatoes..
I meant it as in they hardly ever fight...
In that case, ya, bowe is a lazy ****er lol and so is Toney
I may have put it in wrong words, I didn't mean lazy, I meant "inactive"
Zab Super Judah 06-04-2005, 03:59 AM no question about it my boy judah is a very active fighter..

exactly!
I think this thread is kinda stoopid and the guy that started it dunno what common sense means.
Was Tua lazy bcuz he was inactive fo 2 years? **** no, he was havin problem wit his manager. Dont mean he "lazy".
And then there's also conflicts between promoters to schedule fights and all that bullshiznite! Fightas dont always get what they want.
Fightas that are comin up need to hustle so yea, they fight mo times.

^agreed.
Classic case is marvin hagler a damn good fighter he had to stay active for the little money to get a name and because he could not get a big name fighter to fight him for a long time.
TheGreat1 06-04-2005, 12:30 PM Zab fights alot. Shamba was fighting the most until he met KT. McCline and ruiz stay pretty active
