Very tough question :P, from Budd Schulberg's original list of

Charley Burley
Eddie Booker
Jack Chase
Bert Lytell
Lloyd Marshall
Aaron Wade

I would say that Booker tends to get under rated generally because he had to retire early due to an eye injury, could of achieved a lot more.
If I had to rank them my list would be

1. Charley Burley
2. Lloyd Marshall
3. Eddie Booker
4. Bert Lytell
5. Jack Chase
6. Aaron Wade

But then of course there is the extended list with Holman Williams, Jimmy Bivins, Billy Smith, Shorty Hogue and Joe Carter included. I find it near impossible to rate them, they're all damn close.

For me burley was just that bit better than the rest of them
