for me, a former 90's grunge kid, the best rock / metal vocalists are as follows

Chris Cornell ( Soundgarden, now Audioslave)
Layne Staley ( God rest his soul) - the minor 3rd harony he does with Jerry Cantrell is amazing
PJ Harvey ( the angry vagina of rock)
Maynard James Keenan ( T00L, now Perfect Circle)
Cobain ( God rest his soul)
Ian Astbury ( the Cult, now with the Doors?)
sry, i know i've forgot some but it's hard to remember all their names

To represent the newer guys, since the 80's has already been covered:

1. David Draiman
2. Brandon Boyd
3. Maynard Keenan
4. Corey Taylor
5. Gavin Rossdale...who's not really heavy metal, but he's good nevertheless.

So anyway, we're listenning to the cd and the last song comes and and in the lyrics Jack Black says Who's gonna lead us to cannes??? We laughed our asses of and have been giving him **** ever since!!! He still gets pissed when we call him that!!! Funny how **** like that happens!!! :D

5. Jim Morrison

Alternative/Grunge/90s:
1. Layne Staley

Death Metal:
1. Jens Kidman

Hey Run, you ever read Lords of Chaos. The Count is one interesting character. Awesome book.

Good list. Except I would put Fisher over Barnes, imo. Barnes got more lower and heavier and he was the og Corpse front man, but Fisher had so much more power and aggression and his screams had more sustain. And his vocals are actually intelligible most of the time(almost impossible for a death singer).

The good thing about Barnes is that he wrote lyrics, unlike Corpsegrinder, who is just a front man. But screams/growls and style, I prefer Fisher.

You have a point about Fisher over Barnes in my eyes.

I like the way when I hear Monstrosity it's like an attack of blurt outs.

And at times it's like he's rapping or something.

But that's also why I like Torture Killer in they have a core sound that reaches out to rap in a way. But I'm by no means into rap-core at all

I like how Barnes flows.
