I just bought a pair of Winning Velcro Training Gloves 14 oz. I am going to use them for training and sparring. My trainer actually likes guys under 160 to spar with 14s. Have any on you guys had any experience with these. I notice most pros use winning, but they usually have the lace ups. I don't like the hassle of using the laces, so I decided on the velcro. Any thoughts out there?

same knuckle protection, slightly worse wrist protection

i'm using a pair of 8oz velcro to hit everything but my sparring mates and i love 'em so far. if 8oz is good for a bag, i wouldn't imagine 14oz being not protective enough in sparring

Return them and get the lace ups. They are far better if you are already spending the money on Winning.

Return them and get the lace ups. They are far better if you are already spending the money on Winning. Lace-ups are always gonna be better than velcro's(in terms of wrist support) no matter which brand.

However, the Winning velcro's compared to other hook and loops are the best.

I only use my lace-ups for sparring(which are Grant's).
