From what i heard Holyfield is one of the best boxers in history for managing his money. He doesn`t waste it, in fact he is a known cheapstake.
However, i think the dance show isn`t so much for money but television expossure. He has suffered 3 back to back losses so he has to build his popuality up.
Holyfield stated that he will never quit, not untill he is undisputed champ again! What a warrior.

Holyfield should do anything but box, I don't care if he wants to go to the moon as long he is not in a boxing ring.

I know, i was being sarcastic. Reports are Holy is looking to fighting aboard for a while since he can`t get lisenced in the USA. Its not about the title though. Holy claimed before the first lewis fight that when he beat Lewis he`d want to do a 10 defence tour of the world, defending in a different country each time. Well, he never beat Lewis......

holyfield isnt allowed to box is he? i think he was banned by the ny commision but anyhow if he cant box he might as well stay fresh until he can. i believe dancing helps foot work so why not do it.

aint he one of the richest boxers in history?
i think he wants one last shot at a title and he lost his last fight, if he were andrew golota that alone gets you a shot

Every person that dont know boxing knows 3 boxers....
It can be a baseball fan or basketball fan or a jocky fan or hell even a nascar fan...everyone knows these 3 boxers..

Muhammad "The Greatest" Ali

"Iron" Mike Tyson

Evander "The Real Deal" Holyfield

If Holyfield is on that list, he should just retire...

I probably won't watch it but I'm cool with it as long as he doesn't take anymore shots to the head. I'm not certain that dancing won't be anymore dangerous for the man than boxing was.

And you got to wonder what the property taxes on a lavish mansion like that are. At least several hundred thousand $$$$$$ ever couple of years.

Deuskie, why do you assume he needs the money? It looks to me like he just trying to have some fun in his life. And besides, I'm sure ABC is not paying that much.

Good call, I'm just happy to see Evander on TV doing something other than eating jab's from Larry Donald

i saw evander this past friday and i can tell you that he isn't hurting for money. he was scouting out this ballpark for one of his sons. its called east cobb. the place is amazing. there are alot of pro ballplayers that came out of this place. anyway, my brother-inlaw gave evanders friend directions to the park on evanders phone. it was pretty cool. evander has managed his money very wisely. he is a very down to earth friendly fella i must say.

Exclusive Interview: Evander Holyfield!
By G. Leon

May 31, 2005 - GL: It's been a while since our last convo, what's the latest Evander? "I'm getting ready to start 'Dancing with the stars' and it starts tonight on ABC. They asked me to come on, and I know I can dance, but they said it was going to be ballroom dancing. I told them I never did that and they said give it a try. I said, 'naw I'll pass.' But then they said they were going to get us our own instructors to learn and pick up certain things so I decided to go through with it and now it's something that I'm looking forward to."

My membership on ********** has expired last week and I don't feel like renewing it at this time..

Holyfield has grossed more money than anyone to ever step in the ring. I think it's good he is doing this. Atleast he is not fighting anymore. Good luck holy

I'll try to interject & settle this one.....Holyfield has been paid the most $$$ in boxing history in terms of fight purses.....DeLaHoya has made more money overall, with his sponsorships and promotional $$$

I think it's the money, because child support for 10 children can be very expensive.
