And I guess you can make a case for RJJ being close, but I dont think he is a better overall fighter. Lewis has accomplished so much in his career, when you look back at how he bombed people: Its really ridiculous. The greatest Pugilist of all time hands down.

If there was a pugilist who came close, it probably would be SRR. But even then, he was forced to fight out of necessity towards the later portion of his career. Lewis also avenged every one of his losses, and put on clinics in every fight he was not knocked out in. His fight with Mercer was the only really "close" fight, despite him stopping Vitali Klitschko on cuts as well.

He was old in that klitschko fight anyways...

"Sugar" Ray Robinson was a legend and the greatest(yes, greater than me) He was a phenom, nobody will ever be better than him...

He would KO RJJ in 4

A prime Robinson that is

Will Ruiz become a Hall of famer for being the first Latin HW champ?

Does Tyson really deserve to be a Hall of Fame?

Do Nard 20+ defenses grant him a ticket to the HOF?

The overall best fighter of this era would have to be Bernard "Executioner" Hopkins. Even if he losses this summer (In which I think he will), he still is the best overall fighter of this era, and arguably the best middleweight that ever lived. 20 defenses and 3 all time greats on your record has to qualify you no doubt.

You must be joking if you don't think that Trinidad has the credentials to be in the HOF. That's a given.

I am probably not going to make any friends saying this but I dont think his 20 straight defenses should put him in the HOF just because of his 20 straight title defenses . How many times do we discredit a fighter because of his competition ? He fought alot of bums during those 20 defenses everyone talks about. Then they bring up DLH , Or tito , or even more recently Glen Johnson .

1. Glen johnson went on to lose to 8 more fighters after his first career loss came from Bernard Hopkins, the names of these fighters who beat him him are irelevant because unless you are a die hard boxing fan you probably havent heard of them.

2. For a guy who started his career at light heavy and walks around somewhere around that weight on a day to day basis , beating somebody who started his career at Super featherweight. The fight with Felix Sturm should have warned everybody as to what B- Hop was going to do to him .

I think B-Hop should go to the HOF becasue of his work ethic, and being a champion at middleweight for so long , but ask this question , If Roy Would have stayed at middleweight could he have done it ? What if Sugar Shane Stayed at lightweight could he have done 20 defenses ? Remember this All great fighters have challenged themselves in higher divisions to prove themselves as champions

I don't think you really seen Hopkins fight before....

I agree with what you are saying somewhat..

Hopkins shouldnt go in the HOF cuz of his record

but he beat lot of seasoned fighters..
and if you seen him in his prime
he was very underrated back then...

I honestly don't care if he had 10 defenses or 100 defenses..

I agree with you somewhat
Don't forget Johnson got robbed about 6-7 times so don't bring that 8 loss crap..

He shouldn't...He should go to the record books but not to the HOF...He has just two big wins over fighters that began at 140...I give him credit for the Tito fight, but the DLH fight was a fraud..At last he will fight a good middle in Taylor, lets see what happens when he fights a real good (but young) middle...

If Hopkins doesn't deserve to be in the HOF then lets kick Marvin Hagler out too while we're at it. I mean, his two biggest fights were against the two best welters of his day...but they were just little guys and he actually lost one of those fights...so he doesnt deserve to be in either

You guys are ****ing nuts...
