Well? How many years have you been watching/following MMA for?

2 and 1/2 years...i wish i was around for the pride days..

I was a VERY casual MMA fan in the 90's and early 2000's but I really became a serious fan maybe about 6 years ago.

Only since joining boxing scene. i wish i was around for the pride days.

UFC 6. Whatever year that was.

Just under a year. Really liked the UFC game and wanted to see them in real life lol.

I had Ultimate Fighting Championship for the PS1 in 2000, then it just took off from there.

About the same, I was watching Pancrase and vale tudo tapes before UFC came out...

Used to watch it on tapes as a kid but never really got into it proper. My dad was more of a fan and would watch it when he does. I'd say started becoming a real fan at around UFC 48.

2002 when backyard boxing in high school became boring and we discovered MMA. ha stupid things kids do...

My cousin watched 1-6 live on PPV with his father and told me about them. (After that, his dad quit ordering them because of the rule changes.) I subsequently got sick in I think it was '96 or '97 and watched all of the UFC and other fighting events that I could rent from hollywood video. I was in middle school at the time.

You want to bet any more on Arreola over Adamek? I actually think Arreola is going to win but I'm pulling for Adamek, and Adamek's boxing skills are so much better (imo) that I think he may be able to outbox Arreola to a decision. What do you say, 20k? 30k? 50k?

2005 - before i used to watch K1, my first MMA fight was probably Akebono VS Royce, then it was Wanderlei vs Crocop, Saku vs Wanderlei and Fedor VS Crocop.

I saw my first UFC event when i was 12 during UFC 41, BJ Penn vs. Caol Uno 2. Was pretty cool, so i stayed fairly casual with it till I was 14 when i saw UFC 47 and watched PRIDE 10. Then i got hooked...

I started paying real attention to it around early 2003.

my buddy got me into it right around the time Matt Hughes was destroying everyone. I'd say about 6 years or so.

Tito Ortiz introduced me to MMA, when he faught Ken Shamrock the first time. I wasn't a big fan but I knew it existed. Didn't become a fan until I saw Gomi in Pride Bushido.

I didn't really get into watching the UFC until Rashad Evans kayo'd that one guy with a kick.

I didn't decide to want to fight in MMA until Rashad faught Ortiz though.

I actually stumbled across it by accident. I had watched boxing a lot beforehand so the combat aspect came pretty easy to me. The ground game was the hardest thing to comprehend, so I ended up taking BJJ and Sub Grappling at a local school a few years later. I didn't REALLY get into as far as watching all the fights and promotions religiously, until the Tito/Chuck fight.

I prefer MMA a bit more than boxing simply because it's more diverse and usually more entertaining. However, I still follow all of my favorite boxers (RJJ, Pac, Gamboa, Judah :( are my current active favorites) a lot of my other favorites have retired. I still make an effort to watch the big boxing fights. Like RJJ/Tito, RJJ/Calzaghe, May/DLH, May/Hatton, Pac/Cotto. Pac/DLH, Pac/Hatton, Cotto/Margarito, Mosley/Margarito.


And probably some others ones I'm forgetting.

UFC #1 actually......it was like watching some weird **** fight. Seeing these huge men against smaller men, no gloves, it was cool.

I was only into boxing when I got cable 5 years ago, then after a year or two slowly and gradually I started to watch some MMA fights on ****e. But that god awful 'Ultimate Fighter' show almost ruined it for me, I hate that stupid show. I used to catch a best of PRIDE show on the comcast sports channel, I think that's where I first learned of Fedor.

Anyway, once I saw a fight end by armbar I was intrigued. I didn't know what the hell that was, so I had to find out. The ground stuff did seem weird, rolling around in guard like that, lol.

I been thinking of signing up at Sherdog, not gonna lie. BoxingScene is the best forum out there though.
