View Full Version : Tua vs. toney snipes12 05-28-2005, 09:47 PM i dont know but i know they are both fat and bald! onetwopunch 05-28-2005, 10:28 PM Tua would knock Toney out, I dont see Toney doing to well againts guys his size that have power like Tyson or Tua. But I do see him doing very well againts the big guys were he can be more elusive and use his slick akward movement to keep them off balance. hollister 05-29-2005, 02:37 PM I see Tua getting him out of there, Tua's a monster and Toney's just a hairless ape lol BTW, what happened to Cynical? joeboxer 05-29-2005, 02:40 PM Tua could never handle a skilled boxer like Toney. Not even when he was closer to his prime. IF Bryd could **** Tua up in his prime then Toney would dominate Tua for 12 rounds. It would be sadder than Winky vs Tito. Tua is done. He almost lost his last fight to a NOBODY. The lucky punch he needs would never come against James Toney. hollister 05-29-2005, 02:46 PM Byrd would **** Toney up too, Toney doesn't move at all, much less like Byrd can. I Toney fights like he did against Ruiz, Tua would have a much better chance than he did against byrd. paul750 05-29-2005, 03:12 PM Tua could never handle a skilled boxer like Toney. Tua was not in his prime when he fought Bryd, most people would consider 1996-1997 to have been Tua's prime, i'm not saying tua would have beat bryd even in his prime, but the tua that fought bryd was not tua at his best at all. also toney dosn't run around like byrd does which would play into tua's hands. paul750 05-29-2005, 03:18 PM and since when has james toney felt the power of a david tua type puncher? holyfield, booker and ruiz, do not punch like david tua. joeboxer 05-29-2005, 03:27 PM and since when has james toney felt the power of a david tua type puncher? holyfield, booker and ruiz, do not punch like david tua. 1) So you are saying that Tua is 10 years behind his prime. I don't think this really helps his case, do you? 2) You are right Toney has not felt Tua power, but did you see him hurt by any of the heavy's he's faced? Not yet. 3) And did you see Tua's last fight? It was really sad. He got a KO in the last round, but if the guy had stayed away for 1 more minuete Tua would have lost. He just doesn't have it anymore. paul750 05-29-2005, 03:33 PM 1). 3) And did you see Tua's last fight? It was really sad. He just doesn't have it anymore. yeah but tua was out of the ring for two years, he's not going to come back after that amount of time and look at his very best, judge him after he has a couple more fights, the guy is still not very old in heavyweight terms, i'm not saying he will ever be back to his best, but he deserves some time to prove himself again, and he still won the fight and got 10 rounds under his belt. Slipx 05-29-2005, 03:42 PM joe is right though toneys fast enough to punch tua with 2 straight punches before he can get off a hook..and since tuas small he is always coming in..easy night for toney ud12 everyone always underestimates james toney cuz of his size...toney is a great fighter, though. joeboxer 05-29-2005, 03:49 PM yeah but tua was out of the ring for two years, he's not going to come back after that amount of time and look at his very best, judge him after he has a couple more fights, the guy is still not very old in heavyweight terms, i'm not saying he will ever be back to his best, but he deserves some time to prove himself again, and he still won the fight and got 10 rounds under his belt. Tua might get somewhat better but not by much. Fighters who get to the top based on skill can usually make a pretty good comeback. Fighters who got to the top with physical prowess never really get a second shot. I think Tua might crack the top 10, if he can get lucky and get lined up with some glass-jawed fighters, but Toney is not one of the ones he has a shot at beating. |
