View Full Version : The LONGLY awaited fight went down today.

The fight scheduled for months ago, between me and the huge guy went down today. I actually thought it was never going to happen, we were having trouble scheduling a day around his work scdedule and school and things. But today we all skipped school and went to a friends house to play poker, and I brought a bag with all the boxing stuff, so it went down today. I'll put down how it went. I fought another kid too, but this was the important one, so I had to rush on here to let everyone know what happened.

The Irish Hammer
Height: 5'10
Weight: 150 lbs.
Experience: Boxing Since November

The Opponent
Height: 6'1
Weight: 250 lbs.
Experience: Our schools all around "tough guy"

Pre Fight: He was working with a friend of mine, using the other pair of boxing gloves as punch mits, and the kid has the hardest swing I have ever seen, his uppercuts to a flat hand were putting my friends hand up over his head. This kid benches like 280 lbs. or somewhere around that area, I'm a bit intimidated. I was wrapping my hands and getting my mouthpiece and things together, and tighting my headgear. My best friend is reffing, and we're in a another friends backyard, decent size, and best place for us to fight. We are in the center touch gloves, and are ready to fight. The fight's scheduled for 3 rounds of 3 minutes, referee will determine when the fighter can't continue if it comes to that.

Round 1: Big guy comes out how I expected throwing HUGE bombs, one of them to the head would surely be a big hurt on me. He leans forward with his hooks though, and continues to follow me around the ring throwing the bombs. I am moving around quite nice, wearing him out. He throws a hard right hook and I dodge it and deliver a quick jab to the face, nothing big, but let him know I was there. He starts moving fast now, and lands a BIG right hook across my head, which moves my headgear a bit. We continue again, and I land a big 2 punch combo, left hook then right uppercut, he staggers a bit, but regains his momentum fastly and lands another big punch to my right arm. I keep moving him around and landing little jabs until the round was over.

Judges Scores:
Borst: 10
Stevens: 9

Round 2: I come out again moving alot, and landing some decent stinging hooks to his head, and he is still throwing big haymakers, trying to take me out with one punch. I keep moving and hitting him, letting him punch himself out. I land a devastating right to his face, and he gets very angry. He runs at me, and pushes me to the ground. The Ref breaks it up, and we go back at it for another 30 seconds, with me landing big blows and dodging his heavy punches. My eye is swollen from the head blow I recieved earlier, but i'm winning by alot, he has only landed about 3 punches all fight, 1 effective one. He stops because he's exhausted and says he wants the round to stop.

Judges Score
Borst: 10
Stevens: 8

And if you're wondering, I am as shocked as you are. It took me awhile to actually say yes to fighting him, because it's not like I go out fighting kids twice my size on average. He was pissed off, because he couldn't hit me, But if he would've landed one of those blows again, I would have been done, there's nothing ive ever seen like one of his hooks.

I know alot of people said I was making this up, and honestly, I don't care what you think, this thread is for people who were wondering how it went, and I'm sorry for putting it off for so long, I was as anxious as you to get this thing done with. I'm glad that the sweet science prevails over weight, reach, and height advantages. It was a great fight, and I'm glad I proved to all my friends (5 of them were there watching) that I can box, and it's not a joke. Next time I got a fight going down, you'll be the first to know, thanks for everyone who posted on the thread and who cared about what happened, means alot. :boxing:
