i dont know if this is true but i heard that if you wanna become professional boxer, u can have a special type of nose surgery which makes it real hard for the boxer to bleed from the nose. and i heard that its the reason why boxers dont usually bleed alot from their nose, IS THIS TRUE?

its true. i dont think people really get it unless they need it tho. there was a kid in my gym that kept getting really bad bloody noses, so he got this procedure done where they basically coterized (burned) the tissue inside his nose so the capillaries wouldnt break so easily. its not supposed to have any real negative effects (breathing and what not) but i dont know for sure.

by the way, ive had my nose broken so many times that i rarely get nose bleeds when boxing or fighting. i doubt most professional boxers have to have that procedure done for similar reasons.

i heard about this procedure for people with bad noses that bleed at the change of the wind, i herd all sorts of people get it, but i havnt herd of boxers gettn this procedure done, its still possible for a boxer 2 bleed if this procedure is done i reckon. Plus, boxers bleed from various other places not just the nose. If this procedure is becoming common, might aswell have face lifts after every fight...

as some1 has mentioned it is that when they burn the nerve endings in ur nose and then u dont bleed at all or as much depending on the success of the operation. i know this is 100% true no doubts about it. theres your answer!

Its certainly something worth thinking about if you bleed from the nose easily and ur thinking about pro boxing. Its not a complicated or difficult operation, and i doubt it'd cost much to get it done. Its called a corterization.
