Not trying to start a shouting match here, I truly want to understand the rationale behind banning using the frozen embryos for stem cell research.

Now, I know people adopting those embryos would be great and all but, that only happens to a small percentage of the embryos that are frozen. Also, in many instances, the woman trying to get pregnant from a frozen embryo must go through 5 or 6 of them before one actually survive.

Of the frozen embryos out there only about 10% will actually survive when implanted in a woman's womb.

Also, EVERY frozen embryo UNLESS adopted will be discarded by the hospital after a certain amount of time anyways.

So given these facts, why not use these embryos? If somebody wants to adopt one, great! Let them have it. But if the hospital is about to toss an embryo in the trash ANYWAYS, why not give it to stem cell research instead?

What does this have to do with George Bush?

Well, it is Bush who is LEADING the fight to ban Stem Cell research. It is Bush who will VETO the legislative branche's attempt to expand Stem Cell research.

STFU Manconi, wtf you do know about me? Nothing so dont talk ****.

You're the ****ing redneck who ****ing chokes people and brags about it on the internet. I know exactly why I voted for him and it has nothing to do with religion since I dont follow it. I also dont agree with his views on the war. So if anyone should be smacked in the head with a flaming bag filled with **** it should be you. Next time before you talk smack find out who you're talking to. An easy way to find out about me would be to ask why I voted for him. Ill answer the question here.

I voted for Bush because of his views on the economy, or more of because of Kerry's view on the economy. Kerry wanted to target the tax on small business owners and since my parents and my friends own small business's we voted against him.

I don't know enough about stem cell research to comment intelligently. And I suspect many people responding don't either. I would like to see all the sources and the data from which these claims are being made.

It's most likely just more baseless Bush bashing as usual. No offense LuKahnLi. :)

its very informative.it contains facts that news stations dont put out,and i think every bush voter should complete the game to see everything they voted for.

i never bragged about choking anyone.& calling me a redneck just makes you look like a textbook fascist to other rednecks that read this.

next time, try reading up on the person you vote for, about things they've voted for, people like you voting is about like letting a monkey out of the cage from the zoo,go into a betting booth, flip a switch and walk out.they really should have some kind of basic IQ test for people who want to vote...everyone under 60 shouldnt be allowed to vote.especially making the dealbreaker for the vote because your small business saves a couple hundred more dollars a year,is just classless

Why is it that calling me a redneck is not "textbook fascist" but you calling me that is? How is choking someone in the your backyard not a redneck thing? I dont see scholars or lawers organizing fight clubs...

And it isnt about the couple hundred more dollars that we save. It is about the principle. If you know much about flags then the one you see next to me is Russian. I was born in the USSR which was a Communist nation that did not allow people to have their own businesses. The government controlled everything. The reason we came to America was to live the "american dream." Now if Kerry starts out with trying to make it harder for us to live our dream then Im gonna vote against him. I dont want America to become any more socialist.

And what is with your personal insults? Are you trying to make up for something? Hiding the fact that you scored so low on the SAT that you couldnt go to a good University and had to go to the Army?

Guy, you still should voice any opposition to any politician we've elected if you honestly don't support anything about em. It's your duty ... don't feel that it's unpatriotic to do that. When you start behaving that way, that's where the system becomes dysfunctional.

Bush lied his ****n ass off to get us to support a war that's dragged on for years and will go on for at least 5 more years followed by a lasting American prescence in Iraq likely to last a decade or more ... no ****en way I'll buy into anything he proposes while faithful soldiers and Marines are dying daily because of his greedy manipulations.

I still don't see why there aren't more Americans outraged by that while they supported a costly and embarassing impeachment of Clinton because he and some tramp had "relations" that led to him denying it under oath and a costly investigation into what turned out to be a legitimate miniscule windfall for Clinton and some business partners. They spent many times as much trying to fry him in that bull**** as it was worth to anyone.

So you voted for Bush out of your own personal selfishness. That's ok. Lots of people do that.

Lukhan, I think Bush is a dumbass, and a particurly big dumb ass when it comes to stem cell research. You broke it down perfectly in your first post. These things are going to get discarded anyway but this stupid MF'er wont let us use them for reasearch. Man, I hate have a Jesus freak as president.

Religion concerns are hampering all kinds of scientific and historical research in the States now. People who apply for public grant money often have to hide any references to evolution or other controversial topics.

If this keeps up you will have top academics leaving the country. Right now the U.S. is at the forefront in scientific research in pretty much every field. You chase these people away, you're going to have big problems.

And we spend money on public education why????

Because it is important. We just gotta make sure it is spent on the right things....like hiring mentally stable teachers, and ensuring a secular curriculum.

Just because the gov't says it is spending money a certain way doesn't mean that money is actually used for that thing. They can always reallocate the funds that may have been set aside for education in an "emergency".

No..... I think it's collective bashing. They get their material from the same place you get yours. From those who blow reality out of proportion to suit their agenda.

This is the reality. If People don't bash G. Bush, the Republicans will never leave office. GWB's bashed by democrats more for partisan survival than any legitimate reason I've seen. Sad thing is, how many people fall for it. It's the American people that suffer for it.

about stem cell research , i remember reading that a south korean team had managed to duplicate basics cells (the ones who arent even yet bones or blood cells) from human foetuses (non viables one)

the church and most countries condamned it but korea allows it , so the searchers were in their own right . what everybody admits is that it was a BIG step for curing rare diseases .

im not religious but doesnt hate religion and have respect for faith , but how can someone try to stop medicine advancement ? if human life is so important , why did you kill millions of people because they didnt believe in jesus ?

I think their rationalization is that, life is not as important as your soul. So, it is okay to live in misery with Parkinsons because you are going to go to heaven when you die. Still, that may be okay for one who has that belief....but to decide for someone else by not allowing the research.....I cannot see how this is right.
