I'm sure many will have interesting stories. What got you into boxing ? What motivated you or inspire you to do it ?

my dad used to make me box him while we passed each other in the hallway at home. it was so narrow that there was no way of going around him. so we would box him right there.

Instant love for the sport, I dont care what anyone says, connecting your fist flush an firm to someones face gives a feeling that nothing can replace.

i basically started because i needed to lose weight and my workout buddy was gonna study abroad. also because i've always been a patient person and i dont get upset, but at some point, especially with dumb ppl around getting on your nerves, tension does build, u need a release. but i never in my wildest dreams thought i would be in love with boxing as much as i am right now.

To me it wasn't career or anything. I simply find boxing techniques amazing.
I have REAL fun in training, and that should count right? :D

was into basketball and used to watch rodman, carter, mcgrady etc on those behind the glory shows. caught one of roy jones and became a fan, then i saw the one with ray leonard and i was just in awe of tommy hearns. started looking up boxing and talking to a friend of mine who was an amateur.

started watching and learning about the sport, both the in ring stuff and the history. became a huge fan and started fighting myself. i was just so addicted to boxing i had to, had to know first hand what it was like. and once i went to a gym i fell in love with the sport even more. one of my most memorable moments in my whole life is the first time i stepped into the ring, not even for a workout just stepped between the ropes. love the atmosphere of the gym, has been out of the gym sick for a while its driving me crazy.

That's basically why I do it as well. Get in shape and have fun. If I started young I probably would be more serious about it but it still a good work out. Sparring is great too.

My father has always been a boxing fan, he showed me some Ali fights when i was a kid and i become a casual fan. I started to box while i was in school and did it for about a year and then stopped because other thing come in the way. A few years went by and i missed the sport then i watched Roy Jones fight and i understood i had to do it again.

I had a heavy bag when I was younger and would box with my dad for fun and I guess I always enjoyed boxing but never did anything with it. I heard guys at work talking about how they tried it out and I always thought it would be kind of cool to learn how to fight so that, coupled with playing and enjoying all the Fight Night games, one day I up and decided to try it. I went to a gym and after the first work out I wanted to quit cause I was so out of shape and had NO IDEA boxing was so hard. I decided to give it an honest go and I quit smoking, starting eating healthy, and started training hard and then lost 20lbs in two months. I fell in love with it right there and it has become a lifestyle since. I remember watching the DLH-Mayweather fight after my first training session and I just got tired watching them because I knew what they had to go through to fight like that. Actually boxing and training to box gave me a whole new appreciation for the sport because in the past it always looked to easy and effortless. This is hands down the best sport ever.
