I just got a place in Brooklyn and am currently searching for a job- so I doubt I will be able to make it back to the IBHOF, which is a shame cause I would have liked to catch the fights at Turning Stone as well. I volunteer at the IBHOF. I have gone for the past 5 years.

Yeah I am north of them, the weather is always real bad in the winter. It is usually pretty nice in the summer, but this year I am not even gonna get that as I am going to the city until August.

I only recently, like a couple months ago, downloaded some videos from the Gallery section. I was in desperate need of boxing clips for school.

Found every clip I could, got the ones that had the same fps and threw them in Adobe Premiere, made a 45 second video using just 4-5 clips. It was pretty cool how it looked and synch'ed up with the instrumental to Lean Back. Had some Hamed, some Tyson, some Jones. Actually I think those are the only three fighters. All three were blazing fast...but I am off topic...the damn video didn't work for my final college presentation anyhow (**** Powerpoint, its gay and ****ing primative)

I don't know how long I've been around. I've a bad concept of long-term time. Feels like 1999 was just a couple years ago. Holy ****, it was 6 years ago, before I even had my license...I think. ****, when did I get my license. Anyhow, it was before I even followed boxing, though I've always been oddly drawn to the sport in one form or another. And when I got into it, I caught up on a lot. Prior, I was a wrestling idiot, knew everything about it. Like even **** from the 1800s on pro wrestling.

Boxing is the only sport I would say I really love. I like basketball some, like baseball some. Hell, could probably like soccer and even rugby if I were that sports motivated, but I'm not. But I haven't seen a full basketball game in like 2-3 years.

Boxing is it for me now. When I first started, I watched everything, no matter how insignificant. I'm talking 3 am. Telemundo fights that were probably at least 6 months old.

When I was a kid, I watched Rocky 3 literally over 300 times. Didn't own a lot of movies, it was one I owned. I eventually saw Rocky IV, then I think 1, then Rocky V in the theatre, then 2 like at f'n 11 or 12 finally. Also read this book in 6th grade called The Contender. I really liked it. So I read two more lesser known books by the same author called The Brave and The Chief. All three were boxer's tales. I also liked this 1991-92 movie called Gladiator. I watched Holyfield vs. Foreman live. I wanted Foreman to win because he was fat or some stupid reason like that. I was 8, heh. I knew the whole time Foreman was losing but I thought he'd just wait until the last round to knock Holyfield out. My grandfather told me Holyfield would win, but I kept that stupid belief in that fat bald man.

In 95, I made it a point to watch Tyson fight for free on Fox, against Buster Mathis Jr. I recall the fight was supposed to happen a few months earlier but Tyson or Mathis one got injured, so they postponed it. I thought it was a trick so King would get out of giving everyone a free fight. But, of course they did show it free. Seems that was probably the last time boxing was a major event on network TV.

I thought people were idiots for being mad at Tyson for knocking McNeeley out so fast. My grandfather agreed. He said people don't pay to watch Tyson take guys the distance. I remember seeing the entire fight get shown on our local news. I'm pretty sure that's what got me pumped up to see Tyson on Fox.

Exactly why I pace myself. I am a dick 23/7.

Boxing and other fighting sports seem to be a more pure sport than others. I mean, there is no ball, no stick, no grid iron.....just one person against another. I never was all that good at baseball or any other sport I tried. Martial arts though.....that is about all I am good at. I like its simplicity and lack of abstract rules. Of course that doesn't in any way mar my admiration for those who do play other sports: Football, basketball (especially NCAA), and Rugby especially.

I never really could get into baseball. I think it is the most boring spectator sport around next to golf.

Here's a question for the oldtimers. There was a cat on the old site who had an elderly asian gentleman in a karate stance for his avatar. That guy had a lot of boxing knowledge and was a pleasure to chat with. I suck at remembering names. Anyone remember that dude or what his username was?

Haven't seen Yarmez or Wez in a few weeks. I hope they grace the site with their presence again soon.

actually his name is grayfist, his last post was sometime this year in March.
