View Full Version : In his quest for a title, who should Wladimir Klitschko fight next? Torino 05-25-2005, 04:40 PM In continuing his dream to hold a title at the same time as his brother, who should Wladimir Klitschko challenge and why? scap 05-25-2005, 04:43 PM that question is simple, he needs Byrd and Byrd although thorougly dominated by Wlad wants no part of the big risk no reward Wlad Klitko. If I was Wlad I would fight Byrd anywhere anytime, if the brothers want to realize their gay dream of both holding titles Chris Byrd is the guy he should fight. guru 05-25-2005, 04:56 PM i'd say byrd or ruiz for a title shot, but i also think he could take another fight next, like maybe fres, JCG, beck, or another tune up type guy... Torino 05-25-2005, 05:08 PM i'd say byrd or ruiz ofr a title shot, but i also think he could take another fight next, like maybe fres, JCG, beck, or another tune up type guy... Hey......... talk like Yoda you did not........ guru 05-25-2005, 05:12 PM ooops, byrd he should fight, win he would..... Neuraxis 05-25-2005, 05:27 PM From what I've heard from Steward, they are trying to get a fight with Maskaev or Brock for late July or early August. No one on that list would risk fighting Wlad if he didn't have a belt. Renegade 05-25-2005, 05:28 PM In continuing his dream to hold a title at the same time as his brother, who should Wladimir Klitschko challenge and why? Hey, I got dreams too! What has Wlad done lately to DESERVE a title shot? Let him beat some contenders, then think about challenging for somebody's title. Maybe Samuel Peter or that Tyson guy. Manny_P 05-25-2005, 05:31 PM I would like fo Wladimir to fight Ruiz! LOL. I wanna see Ruiz' legs turn to rubba when Wlad land his huge shot (no homo!) Realistically speakin, Wlad wants Byrd and already filed suit. LOL Wlad will knock Byrd out in my opinion. Byrd cant hurt a sack o beans. LOL. Aint baggin on Byrd! Maybe Samuel Peter or that Tyson guy. The last time I checked Wlad is one of very few non beltholders (including Toney and Brock) who has beaten a top 15 heavyweight within the past year. Okay, but where does he rank in each of the alphabet boys' hallucinations? And where does The Ring rank him? And with all this talk of unification, who's gonna promote it? And more important, who's gonna buy it? Heavyweights aint zactly been tearing it up on the ppv circuit . !! Mr. Soprano 05-25-2005, 05:48 PM Just fight someone already!!! oh and WIN LOL The Troll 05-25-2005, 06:01 PM If Wlad wants Byrd and the IBF Heavyweight Title what he should do is try to get a fight with either Monte Barret or Hasim Rahman because they are the #1 and #2 rated heavyweights by the IBF. If he would likely get in the #1 contender position and eventually become Byrd's mandatory, that is probably the only way Wlad Klistchko gots a shot at one of Don King's title holders. He should fight Monte Barret he is #1 contender for the IBF. Leo Pradun 05-25-2005, 06:03 PM If Byrd is scared then Wlad should go after Ruiz it should be an easy fight for him. Brewster sounds like he doesnt wana fight anyone without a title so I dont tihnk Wlad Brewster will happen anytime soon, I think a fight against Brock will be a good one if it were to happen. Wlad go for Ruiz......... The Troll 05-25-2005, 06:04 PM That would be awesome of John Ruiz accepted a title challenge from Wladimir Klisthcko. Toney was just his mandatory so he cant fight whoever he wants for the next title defence. And he already fougth Rahman so he might as well gamble and face Wlad Klistchko it is probably the biggest money fight out there for him right now. paul750 05-25-2005, 06:06 PM i'd say byrd or ruiz for a title shot, but i also think he could take another fight next, like maybe fres, JCG, beck, or another tune up type guy... i agree with most of those guys but not juan carlos gomez, gomez beat wlad in the amatuars and is a masterful boxer and a southpaw as well, he should stay clear of a fight with the black panther MetalVomit 05-25-2005, 06:39 PM In continuing his dream to hold a title at the same time as his brother, who should Wladimir Klitschko challenge and why? I want him to fight Ruiz, I wanna see Ruiz try to manhug Wlad. He will eat Ruiz alive with his monster jab alone. :boxing: The Fix 05-25-2005, 06:45 PM he should fight david tua, whom everyone knows is the gatekeeper in the heavyweight division. him or evander holyfield who just wont retire and could be a nice stepping stone for wlad just like he was for ruiz and byrd. another possibility could be larry donald who beat the real deal. Shaolin Bushido 05-25-2005, 06:49 PM Looks like now would be a bad time for him to challenge Brewster again ... that's for damn sure. Pno 05-25-2005, 06:50 PM I'm just excited to see WK develop more from Manny's training. If he can make as much of an improvement on his foot work as the last fight, we'll see much better things from WK. One of the main problems causing him fear and getting him KO'd is his inability to move and evade. Once he squares off with his opponent and is in control, he's like a master of chess... Torino 05-25-2005, 07:01 PM The IBF rankings in april were, Title Holder, Chris Byrd #1 Monte Barrett #2 Hasim Rahman #3 Wladimir Klitschko . . . #7 SERGUEI LYAKHOVICH If Barrett and Rahman are already fighting, one of them will loose and get knocked down in the rankings leaving Wladimir at #2. If big brother Vitali beats the winner of the Barrett/Rahman fight, they should get knocked down leaving Wladimir at #1. Does that scenario make sense or am I missing something? Assuming Wladimir fights and wins between now and then. Neuraxis 05-25-2005, 07:06 PM Okay, but where does he rank in each of the alphabet boys' hallucinations? And where does The Ring rank him? And with all this talk of unification, who's gonna promote it? And more important, who's gonna buy it? Heavyweights aint zactly been tearing it up on the ppv circuit . The last time I checked he was ranked 3rd by the IBF, 2nd by the WBO, and 6th by *********. There is a pretty weak PPV card on July 23, and Wlad is looking to fight next in late July or early August. He could fight Ruiz on that card, but that obviously won't happen. Ruiz will probably not fight at all or he could fight Donald, TOS, Austin, or Beck who are so much more deserving than Wlad. Wlad w/ IBF & WBO, Vit w/ WBA & WBC! Sounds like a dream come true for the Klitchkos. I guess your saying I'm missing something in that scenario? Your so creative in your reply, lets see if you are just as talented with your left brain and tell me what I missed. I appreciate it. I'd love to see Wlad fight Byrd, and in this scenario, it not only makes sense, but is justified in this crazy, multi-dimensional world we live in that allows for four heavyweight champs. I just have a habit of looking at things from an absurdist point of view. Don't take it personal, it wasn't meant that way. What weight you fight at? Communication is the most difficult of all human endeavors. AintGottaClue 05-25-2005, 07:33 PM Wlad should leave byrd to vitali, and take out the garbage ruiz cause he ducked vitali in the first place PBDS 05-25-2005, 07:37 PM ooops, byrd he should fight, win he would..... ....a slappy one he is, puncher he is not. Crush him Wlad will. BrooklynBomber 05-25-2005, 07:51 PM Or the perfect time... I tend to agree with NEuraxis. This is a perfect time to fight with Brewster. If he(Wlad) loses, oh well, everybody knows he got weak chin and bad stamina...but if he wins, there is a whole new field for Wlad there if he beats Lamon. PBDS 05-25-2005, 07:56 PM ....The problem is that nobody wants to fight Wlad right now. Nothing really to gain and everything to lose. If he looked vulnerable in his last fight then guys would be lined up. He is still feared and respected enough for guys to avoid him even if they suspect he may be shot. He aint shot and everybody is gonna find that out as soon as someone in the top ten has the balls to step in with him. !! He will not fight Vlad, nor vice-versa 2)I did not know there were Holyfiled haters.. Why do you want him killed? 3)Vitaly has already KOed Donals.. I don't see the outcome of Vlads fight being any different. For that reason, it will not be interesting for the fans to watch a re-run. But anyhow.. Vlad needs to fight either a belt holder (which is not an option) but as Torino stated 'a quest for the title' he should fight his competition for the mandatory.
