Montiel-Morel, Vernon Forrest's return and Larios-McCullough II!

May 25, 2005 - Sources close to the situation have informed **********.com that the July 16 undercard of the Bernard Hopkins-Jermain Taylor PPV is fully loaded. The televised undercard is shaping up as follows: WBO 115 pound champion Fernando Montiel will defend his title against former flyweight champion Eric Morel. Former welterweight king Vernon "The Viper" Forrest will return from two years off due to injuries against the ever dangerous TBA and WBC 122 pound champion Oscar "Chololo" Larios will take on Wayne McCullough in a rematch of their action-packed fight on Fox Sports Net earlier this year.Source: **********.net

Morel vs Montiel is going to be a great fight, I am looking forward to that one actually more so than the Main Event.

How about Forrest, do you think the rest has served him well, or not?

I think he will be rusty, I was never sold on Forrest. I think he is a good fighter, he will obviously fight a tune up to get warmed up. I think he will show some rust but will win his fight.

Of course he will win.. It will be an embracement to loose a come back fight...
Tszyu, Vargas, Tua, Trinidad, Tyson all did it.. But does Forrest have what it takes to ever be the champ again? I personally don't think so not in 147 / 154 /160. His only option is if Wright moves up to 160 for good, that would leave no one solid to defend the 154 division.

Remember Mayorga will be lurking at 154 to always bring Forrest down, there is always Spinks who is coming to 154. Forrest probably wouldnt even break top 10 at 147 anymore.

Morel is a good boxer but with no power and is boring as hell...I'll pay the ppv just to see Taylor ktfo Nard...

Here is an idea..
Find out what the odds are for Hopkins.. and bet just so you can make $50. If Taylor wins.. well, you lost like $30 or so..

But if Hopkins wins, well you make $50 and at least got to watch the fight for free. HEHE

This seals the deal for me...Hopkins-Taylor, sold!

After that, I'll have to wait for the DLH/Barrera card...unless HBO somehow gets Toney/Byrd on the Aug.13th card...

I agree I am not buying it, instead will sucker my friend into buying it and watching and recording it at his house.

I am waiting for that August 13th ppv of Don Kings

Zab
Byrd
Mayorga
Ruiz vs Lamon (this is being rumored)

As well as a few other title scraps, much worth my 50.
