I was thinking about the upcoming Boxing After Dark card with Miguel Cotto and Mohammad Abdullaev, and was intrigued by the undercard. I know who Joel Casamayor is, I know what he does, I've seen a million of his fights. But who the hell is Kid Diamond, and whose fight is it? Is Casamayor supposed to be a stepping stone for Almazbek Raiymkulov, 20-0 (12 KO)?
I saw his last 2 opponents were Koba Goladze and Lamar Murphy, both respectable fighters, and he ko'ed them both. Reports I'm getting is that this guy is supposed to be the next Kostya Tszyu. Inquiring minds want to know, is this guy that good, and is he in over his head with "El Cepillo"?

I'll tell you who Kid Diamond is:

he's the guy who's gonna do everyone a favor and brutally destroy Casamaya-headbutt, who IMO is the least-classy fighter in the sport....

The Diamond has wicked power and a ridiculously awkward style, he'll box & move for 2-3 rounds then go in for the kill

I don't no who he reminds me of, some say Zoo but i don't know if that really fits...the guy is pretty damn unique...

He is going to knock someone out with a overhand to the neck one of these days..from watching him the one word that comes to mind is brutal, I hope he rips Casamyors head off, if he bwhipps Joel then he is ready to jump in the mix and looks to be as tough as they come...that may be HBO's best card of the year and a card they desperately need after what there little brother Showtime has been doing.

Ive been a fan of Raymkulov for some time now. Him fighting Casa says a lot about him as a fighter. IMO Casa is kinda over the hill now but still a very dangerous fighter so Almazbek is in for a huge challenge.
His style is pretty unique and the only things that remind me of tszyu in him is his movement and his right hand. He is a very awkward fighter.

tough to compare Kid Diamond to any current fighter, let's see....

kind-of a weird hybrid of of Marciano's ducking, sweeping style, along with a twist of Prince Naseem's footwork & awkwardness, but stands more straight-up & down & has a crushing overhand right
