What if Meldrick Taylor was disciplined not to brawl and just used his skills he had been blessed with as a pure boxer!! Would we be talking about him as an all time great?

Some fighters are very talented but just don't have that "karma" to be an all time great. Something or combination of things conspire to keep them from true greatness. Meldrick falls into this category as does Aaron Pryor.

yes

just think of the chavez fight

a more cautios fight would have made the rest of his career different.

maybe he would have not dominated the early rounds

maybe he would have lost the fight (considering the scorecards and that he would have lost more rounds)

but he would not have been damaged

no we wouldn't be talking about him, because that first fight was a fluk, a in a rematch he would have been domanated by the great JCC. Wait he was domanated by JCC in the rematch. he had a good night that got cut short by the superior fighter

I think so, he had that fight againts Chavez all he had to do was move and box but he chose to fight with Chavez and that was his downfall...if it wasnt for Richard Steele he would of won the fight regardless.
