Playa ****'s beat isnt bad. Dont like the flow and the gangsta voice of the rappers. I dont think it sounds like his natural voice like that guy with the EAST SIDE Boyz.

Then they ripped that beat from Camp-Lo for their song Slick Talkers. They should not have ripped that, it was a rap classic.

Overall: I've heard worse. I've heard better. The beats are decent but nothing sticks out to me.

Right on

If it was 800,000 thats still disappointing. Kanye samples EVERY song and you know thats expensive and he did Common's whole album.

And then Kanye makes an artist from scratch, John Legend, and the guy is already platinum.

While this is like Common's tenth album and he isn't near Legend in sales.

Might I add, they've both had two videos.

Many of us pretty much agree we can sit through Enter the Wu-Tang, Ready to Die, Only Built 4 Cuban Linx, The Chronic, etc. - through without hitting the fast-forward button.

I still have a tape player in my van, and some old tapes from late 1980s, early 1990s, and a few from around 2000 when I was on the road quite a bit with this tape player in the van. I don't like cassettes where I have to mess with the fast-forward/rewind buttons.

So I put two of my favorites in to and from class the past two weeks, and it occurred to me that these are solid 4 mic albums in my eyes.

What are some of your UNIQUE albums you feel are just fine; not 5-mic quality, but tapes you wouldn't have to hit the fast-forward button on? Neither of these are lyrical masterpieces, to say the least, but I really like:

There's only 80 minute capacity on an audio CD, right?

So every song's surely not full-length, or many of the songs are quite short...

You can fit 22 songs on a CD. They have to be about 3 1/2 minutes each.

Minus the intro and outro, that's less than four minutes per song. Some artists get their song out in that amount of time. I remember Too Short had one song that was like 9 minutes long - the last 5 straight instrumental...

Most songs, even rap songs, typically exceed 4 minutes, though, don't they?

2) endless debate on which 18 or so songs belong

Mos Def has a couple cool tracks (you might like him, but I don't really feel him)

Royce da 5'9 (people know him, but I still call him underground. His last effort Independence Day wasn't that great to me.)

Canibus (peep his Rip The Jacker album, or ask me and I'll send you some tracks to hear)

There aren't too many artist that I really look out for, but those are some underground off the top of my head. If I think of more I'll let you know what's up.

Lots of really rich people use bankruptcy laws all the time. If Donald Trump has a project that flops, he just declares bankruptcy, not personally, but on whatever business he's created that's funding the project (probably a legal oversimplification - any law students want to help me out?)
