The Fix 07-29-2005, 01:22 AM Well, why has it worked for Blaze, Heatmakers and Kanye but not the originator Rza?
what do you mean by that? he is multiplatinum and one of the most respected producers of all time
BLOODSHED 07-29-2005, 01:22 AM Eminem can say whatever the **** he wants and get away with it. He can release crap (and he has) like all those songs about killing his mom and his girlfriend and that song Ass Like That. I think the most cherished person in the black community is the mother figure. So I dont think it's cool to blacks that he's talking about killing his own mother.
See Eminem has the backing of MTV. He puts **** up and MTV shows it. Eminem and other pop garbage run MTV not rap.
BTW, Eminem addressed the would-be controversy on a song on Encore, killed it, and no one seemed to make a big thing of it.
There have been many, many more very blatant anti-White, anti-Jewish lyrics released than anything Eminem has said. Not that two "wrongs make a right", but it does explain why they shouldn't crucify him for saying a word as a kid that isn't as potent as it once was (did you see the video links for that V-Unit and Chucky Ackenz group linked off this site, where a white, black and Vietnamese dude take turns rapping in front of a multi-cultural mob and they all drop the N-word like it's nothing? I don't approve of it, but apparently there are a number of youth who don't hold the same attitudes that earlier generations did about the word"
Opening to Da Lench Mob album: "Damn, I'm sweatin' like a ***** at a white man's funeral"
Ice Cube on When will they shoot: "White man is something I tried to study/but I got my hands bloody" - then he hired one for his barbershop, served with a few in the Gulf War, hunted a big snake with 'em...lol
The Fix 07-29-2005, 01:23 AM What are you talking about? Wu-Tang as a whole has put out two CLASSIC albums, with RZA's production.
Tell me any albums that those three producers put out that can **** with
Enter the 36 Chambers
Wu-Tang Forever
Please tell me that now.
not to mention the countless tracks he has done for wu solos
BLOODSHED 07-29-2005, 01:24 AM Well, I guess I learned something today. Maybe I underestimated Rza.
Can someone give me a couple of 92 era songs Rza did. Going to download them and listen.
not to mention the countless tracks he has done for wu solos
MetalVomit 07-29-2005, 01:25 AM Eyedea is sick on the mic "i'm really iller than anybody, buddy I'll bloody your body"
neils7147933 07-29-2005, 01:25 AM Hey, racism exists still and there are still some things that even people who don't think they're racist get bothered by.
Lots of white people don't like movie remakes, book adaptations with black actors playing earlier white roles.
They have trouble with the fact that the Williams sisters came in and took over women's tennis and that the two best golfers in the world aren't white.
It's funny to me, though, that when it comes to discussing the best rappers and rap groups of all time, it's still not cool to say that in a minority-dominated, nearly exclusively, music genre - the best rapper in the game right now and the best rap group of all time is a honky from the Midwest and a gang of Jews...
BLOODSHED 07-29-2005, 01:26 AM Eminem said the word N-I-G-G-E-R and MTV didnt miss a beat showing his videos. This is the same channel that at first refused to air black artists at its inception. Thats the truth, you can look that up yourself.
This is the same MTV that pushes for racial equality especially gay acceptance and they show a homophobe and racist artist.
BLOODSHED 07-29-2005, 01:27 AM I wouldnt say the Beastie Boys are the best. Some people think they are and it doesnt bother me one bit. They never said the word N-i-g-g-e-r on record. Eminem has.

BLOODSHED 07-29-2005, 01:30 AM On MTV Eminem is the best rapper. He hasnt sold the most albums in the last year. Thats the only way you could have said Eminem is the best. In fact 50 sold more. And Nelly. Encore is at 4 million records. His lowest selling record so far.
Em is very witty/crafty on the mic but the whole killing your mom doesnt go off to well in the black/hispanic communities.
oldgringo 07-29-2005, 01:30 AM Not to mention that Rza produced
OB4CL
and
Liquid Swords (with the exception on 1 track I think)
Nash everything you are going to find of Wu was released on their first album.
They took a long time to get their **** together since they had 9 members.
And sorry that was GZA and ODB founded the group...then they got RZA to sign on.
neils7147933 07-29-2005, 01:31 AM I wouldnt say the Beastie Boys are the best. Some people think they are and it doesnt bother me one bit. They never said the word N-i-g-g-e-r on record. Eminem has.
The Beasties would be the best if the criteria included critical acclaim, actual musical ability (they've put out an acoustic album), number of gold and platinum albums, total sales, awards, longevity
Of course, if Wu-Tang or NWA stayed in-tact or Bone-Thugs-N-Harmony get their **** together and make a serious comeback, they might not be...
BLOODSHED 07-29-2005, 01:31 AM Cool. I will look that up tonight when I update my ipod.
BLOODSHED 07-29-2005, 01:32 AM Rollingstone doesnt equal critical acclaim to me.
Some would argue and Im one of them that Beastie Boys music is not entirely rap. In fact its very rock sounding sometimes.
Grammys, MTV Music awards dont mean ****. Guns and Roses were the it band of the early 90s. Where are they now? Probably snorting cocaine.

oldgringo 07-29-2005, 01:32 AM Honestly, if I read something else about sales having to do with how good an emcee is i'm going to blow a fuse.
Flame on - I rain fire, when johnny storm
I’m shocking like live wire - you have been warned
I prolong this next chamber, to make it strong
And prove all them doubters wrong
Killin em softly with this song, addin on
Let them toes get they tag on, dead men run no marathons
On my shift, shootin that gift, knowin he snitched
On the telethon, runnin his lips, sinkin the ship
Give back what his mother gave him, mother made him
And now she can’t even save him, johnny blaze ’em
Send him to his final restin
Back to the essence, faces of death - the final lesson
That **** is so sick its not even funny.

Michael Jackson is MTV's most beloved artist, and he used the word '****' on a song...

i believe back in the day scarface and the geto boys were banned from air play on their station, i dont know if that ban still exists but mtv is built for the little girls imo
BLOODSHED 07-29-2005, 01:48 AM Theyve banned a lot.. claiming indecency but they showed Prince's ass in that cut out suit and they show sex on the real world all the time. Go figure.

I've heard something about what he's eluding to; that wasn't one of the things I was arguing over.
He's saying the network shouldn't play Eminem for some words he's been quoted as saying. I contend that would be very hypocritical, even if it was considered. I brought up a couple of rap artists with anti-white racial language on studio albums, not just playing around in a garage or a broke-down studio when they're kids.
And regardless of how "hard" you think Eminem is, he's far from the biggest "poser" in the game, black, white, or otherwise...
Check the story of a rapper from the 1990s called "Boss"

so has bet, they have an entire black list of artists and videos they will not play
BLOODSHED 07-29-2005, 01:53 AM The funny thing about BET is that they do that and the host always stoke the flames of a rivalry between musicians by asking the dumbest questions and then they air Comedy View or Comic View which is probably the most vulgar show on TV.
A black professor here at the University of Arizona is suing BET for their portrayal of black women. Her lawsuit was published in the school paper. One thing she said which was true and funny is that they have the UnCut show at night where they show all those asses and then the next show is The Hour of Power, the religious shows. Hahaha.

That's just what I have on my comp. I forgot Camay (I forget who that is crooning in the bg sample)...cherchez is also great. I was never quite sold on Poisonous Darts...good song but not something I'd put on my must hear.
oldgringo 07-29-2005, 02:08 AM Haha I created this thread basically so that Fix and I could bull**** around about favorite all-time this and thats...

As you can see its mainly Fix, myself, Godz, and mnash doing the majority of the posting. Truth chimes in every so often too which is good.
I would have thought that jose would have more to say but I guess not.

unfortunately, a lot of my rap knowledge is in a limited number of years. If this was 1994, I'd be posting my ass off - I'd hear most albums that came out. I was the BMG Music Service pimp, getting people to join through me, ordering through them plus getting my free CDs - I had a few friends who seemed to always have money, too, and they'd hit Camelot music with a list of stuff I told them they needed to get, stuff I'd read about in Vibe or The Source.
Truth be known (he says running from the thread to get a helmet), I'm not a real big fan of modern hip-hop and rap, and this comes from someone who cuts a lot of slack to pop music - I have to drive 20 minutes east to be able to tune in a true hip hop radio station, and what I don't download here (that dude in the pink lucha mask isn't anywhere around, is he), I usually am only exposed to on Top 40 radio nowadays.
Kind of like the two ECW reunion shows renewing my interest in pro wrestling, Fix sending me Talib Kweli and Common's new CDs kind of made me interested in rap again; I'm like "wow, not a single song featuring Nelly or P. Diddy...."

Crawfordsville is pretty small isn't it?
I assume you have limewire...i'll start dropping a few song titles every so often and you'll definitely want to download them.

15,000 or so...
96.3 in Indianapolis is hot; they even play some local artists, but the 96.5 signal from Lafayette is 10x its size, so you've got to get close to 'Nap town to hear "Blazin' Hip-Hop and R & B"
I can get to Indianapolis or Lafayette in an hour; I can get to Chicago in less than 3 hours and St. Louis in less than 4. I don't mind where I'm at.
I do think that, around the time of Naughty by Nature's debut, Apocalypse 91, Heavy D's Peaceful Journey (my first rap tape purchase I made myself where one of them had a "warning", which is a big deal for a junior higher in a family with a strict values code when it comes to entertainment) to say the Above the Rim soundtrack, the first Nas, Wu-Tang & Outkast disc, is my favorite era. I heard rap before that and I've heard it after, but I "felt" it in those years. Nirvana, Marilyn Manson, Nine Inch Nails - that was some people's "rebel" music that they'd play that their parents hated. Me? I knew "The Chronic" and "Shorty the Pimp" front ways and back...

One of the greatest hip hop tracks ever conceived. Pharoahe on on the track first, Prince Po second.
Pharoahe mercs this track...beautiful song.
MetalVomit 07-29-2005, 11:41 AM This is why Pharoahe Monch is top 15 in my book.
Pharoahe Monch - Mayor (http://s55.yousendit.com/d.php?id=ROX05KC0YPWG4WYBESRPVUSK)
Greatest lyricist I've heard since the G.O.D. himself.
I also like "Hell", he rips that ****. Monch is amazing, I have all the Organized Konfusion albums as well as Internal Affairs.
MetalVomit 07-29-2005, 11:48 AM unfortunately, a lot of my rap knowledge is in a limited number of years.
Diddy...."
Ahh, the mid nineties. ****, wu, bcc, death row.......
6th grade on my birthday, I got my first cd player and my father took me to musicland. My first 5 cd's I ever got are the following:
Rakim(**** eric b.):Paid In Full
Cypress Hill:Black Sunday
Gangstarr:Hard To Earn
Snoop:Doggystyle
Enter The 36 Chambers
I had heard about these albums in The Source as well, The Source was my only link to Hip Hop at the time, I didnt even have a stereo then. My pops took me to the store and I just started grabbing the albums that I recognized from reading/hearing about. I didnt know who any of them were, not even Rakim.I never thought that they would be 5 of the greatest hip hop albums ever. I've got over one thousand cd's, no bull****, and these 5 albums began my obsession. My mom was a serious Church person then, and didnt want me to have anything with the parental advisory sign on it, so I had to hide them under my bookshelf. I remember staying up late at night, playing video games and just being mesmerized by the music I was hearing. I swear to the Lord himself, I'll play "Mass Appeal" at my wedding!

don't forget In Living Color. First time I ever saw Busta Rhymes (with LONS), Boogie Down Productions, Tribe Called Quest, some others.
I was in 6th grade when Kris Kross performed on In Living Color; that was the main topic of conversation the next day.
Are you too young to have "krossed out" your clothes a time or two? lol...

Back then, some teachers would let us have a boom box during lunch hour. That was back in the day of the audio tape with the dirty side and the clean side. I had a very limited sex knowledge based on some PC health class stuff; my introduction to the "dirty" side came from the Life Is...Too Short tape that some kid had got his dad to buy him. When teachers would come around, we'd just turn the tape over to the clean side.

lol that was the same with my mom :D id save up all my money so i could by a cd but id have to hide it somewhere in my room because if she found it, she would return and keep the money as punishment. she said "if your going to buy trash then you dont really need money", she did this to me once after finding either reasonable doubt or something like that.... i ususally hid my cd's pretty well but i left that one on the counter in my cd player and she turned it on and gave it a listen

It's pretty much just great overall. For me it's just a place to chill right now. It's one of the most beautiful areas in the world and is one of the most beautiful states in the US. Great beaches and seafood.
However, downtown Portland (I'm staying in Portland with family) has the highest concentration of bars in per sq foot in the US. 4,000 bars in downtown Portland

Yeah, B.I.G was a rhymer that just put you in the scene he was rappin about. You felt like you were in his rhyme. I totally thought Tupac was gonna get murdered because of the many times he was shot at but I was totally shocked when Biggie turned up dead.
Tupac has a totally different style. Haha since I live in between New York and LA there are some people that still love Tupac and bump his **** all the time still to this day. I have a friend that still argues that Tupac was better than Biggie to me. If you didn't grow listening to east coast hip-hop they will never know just how good Biggie really was.
BLOODSHED 08-03-2005, 04:21 AM Exactly... I live on the west coast. And it seems west coast rappers have this extreme animosity towards the east coast rappers. I wonder if New Yorkers feel the same about the west?

I think his legend could be even greater if he had been killed after just that first album, which I think is the best rap album of all time.
Too much killer and way too much "Puff Daddy Dance Mix" on the second disc for me.
"Born Again" was 10x weaker than any posthumous Pac release...
MetalVomit 08-03-2005, 05:15 PM Ready to Die is an amazing album. IMO the best Hip Hop album of all time is Only Built 4 Cuban Linx. Have you heard it Neils? I can upload it for you, but once you hear it, you'll go buy the actual album. It's that good. I was going to post a "Best of" Swollen Members folder, anyone interested?

yeah I have that one already; I bought it shortly after it came out...
The Fix 08-03-2005, 05:57 PM I salivate sometimes thinking of what Big would have done to Tupac if he responded to Tupac's unimaginative and bland disses. He would have lynched Tupac and his career.

just think tupac sat down and wrote lyrics saying his ****ed big's *****. ooh. i never heard that before. the thing is tupac went to a special school for writing/acting/poetry and thats the best he could come up with?

blockburna944 08-03-2005, 09:53 PM this is gonna be a long post, but here goes
biggie was definitely the better lyracist, but...
in my opinion tupac had more heart and intellect. tupac starved many times growing up and his mom was constantly in and out of prison and away in general due to being a member of the black panther party. biggie didnt live great, but he went to catholic school for grade school (not saying its easier cause i went to one too and poor catholic schools are worse than poor public schools, but it shows his mom cared about his education id think) and his mom was always around. he made a conscious decision to live the thug life and sell drugs because it appealed to him. at the same time pac was getting into scraps and fighting to survive, but found an outlet to the problems at the art institute in baltimore (where he called himself mc new york and tried to intimidate b-more rappers, but anyways...). pac studied acting specifically there, and thats what he was as a rapper: an actor. he rapped about this crazy life with girls, money, drugs, and killing and made that become his actual life later on. still, at the same time he was writing incredible poetry that he didnt make public to the world and becoming increasingly aware of the situation of the world around him. most of the tracks where he really talks about that were released posthumously, but brenda's got a baby, dear mama, and others (though not lyrically eloquent) talked about a situation of living in an unglorified and unique manner which nobody with pac's popularity was doing before. i think that pac used the formulaic thug style and thug life to become popular but had deeper interests as hard. he said he would be the one to spark the mind of the person that would eventually change the world. i dont think its hard to see that he made a strategic career out of rapping (probably why so many people think its credible he faked his death) part of that strategy was to bring an understanding of real life problems to the masses, which i dont feel any rapper who achieved his level of popularity after him has done.
also, i have a feeling the beef between him and biggy (who were friends during their high school age) was either a: not nearly as serious as the wanted it to seem or b: contained serious elements that were never brought to the public's attention. just my two cents.
oh yeah, id be interested in getting that az advance and the swollen members stuff (i still havent made up my mind about them, i like a lot of their joints but monsters in the closet, the one full album i got, didnt really do it for me)

The best of Swollen Members.
www.swollenmembers.com
this is one of my favorite groups. it's either a "love em or hate em" thing. Production is always on point. Lyrics are weird/odd to say the least. Nonetheless, I'm a big fan. Enjoy.
BLOODSHED 08-03-2005, 10:46 PM Kinda off the subject, but Im just wondering what you hip hop heads think of the Game with GUnit and now after Gunit?
Do you feel the 50-Game beef was made up?
BLOODSHED 08-04-2005, 12:45 AM I think I have a new favorite DJ Premier beat.
D Angelo's Devils Pie.
Any heard of it?

Yeah, Built 4 Cuban Linx was pretty dope Godzhand. I kept that one in heavy rotation back in the day.... Heaven and Hell was my favorite song on that album. Just the grittyness of the beat the emotion on the rhyme. Ghostface and Raekwon really bounce off each other well. Damn, I'm gonna have to find that CD now.
It's hard for me to say what one record is my favorite, I have so many. Three Feet High and Rising from De la Soul was pretty dope as well. Prince Paul's beats were pretty dope on that one. He also produced Gravedigga's first and best album.
Organized Cunfusion's Extinction Agenda was dope. The beats were off the chain on that album. Of course Quest's Midnight Murauders. Damn there is too many I like to name them all.
FistoftheDallasStar 08-04-2005, 01:00 AM I think I have a new favorite DJ Premier beat.
D Angelo's Devils Pie.
Any heard of it?
Oh yeah, mnash_98
"**** the slice, we want the pie
why ask why till we fry
watch us all stand in line

drugs and thugs, women and wine

D'Angelo is my favorite crooner. Me and my girl went to his concert when Vodoo was released. Do you know if his new album is coming out soon? I've been waiting for it to drop for a couple of years.
BLOODSHED 08-04-2005, 01:01 AM Yeah hes very good. Like him and Maxwell but one thing bugs me about both... 1 album over 7 years.

FistoftheDallasStar 08-04-2005, 01:14 AM MNash, I remember you saying you was from the west coast. Do you like Hiro and Del? They definately have a unique sound and I like a lot of they're older tracks. Deltron 3030 was pretty dope as well.
BLOODSHED 08-04-2005, 01:18 AM Ive heard some songs by them... not too many.
The radio station here plays this song by Lil Rob which drives me insane now that my XM radio has been stolen, so I have to listen to local radio station.
And the radio station here plays this Usher "Burn" rip off song. Anyone know the name. Whoever did that song should be shot.
Oh, you're from Arlington. My uncle lives there and and is a civil engineer for Forth Worth. I've been there a couple of times. Its weird to me how Dallas, Forth Worth and Arlington are so near each other. I remember crossing that bridge and there was this huge boat coming. If I remember correctly, I literally peed in my pants because its one of those bridges that lift for boats to pass by.
Ah memories.
FistoftheDallasStar 08-04-2005, 01:30 AM I feel your pain, I don't even bother to listen to the radio here anymore. Just a bunch of commercial driven B.S.. I'm sure I've heard someone playing that Usher song. I usually just burn a cd and listen to it in the car when I drive anywhere to avoid the radio, haha. I'll listen to sports radio sometimes, too.
BLOODSHED 08-04-2005, 01:31 AM My dumb ass, I get real tired of CDs that I burn. So sometimes I just turn to NPR and listen to politics. Yeah radio is that bad... once you go satellite you dont go back.
blockburna944 08-04-2005, 01:32 AM you should definitely check hiro, souls of mischief, del (thefunkyhomosapien and 3030 are the same guy); they are still some of the most creative mc's out there. i considered them along with skee-lo, pharcyde, and dj quik the best in the west for a long time. more recently, xzibit, ras kass, people under the stairs, cali agents, likwit crew, and several others are doin it, but i still think people sleep on a lot creative talent from the west.
by the way, d'angelo was one the few new soul singers i like, but you wont hear much from because hes heavy on the crack. i think hes locked up right now too.
speaking of the west, what do yall think of zion i. i just copped true & livin, which is a solid album, if not a classic. amp-live's production always seems to be real solid and creative, if youve heard all 3 albums, you can definitely hear the evolution of his beats. i think zion's flow is pretty crazy too, and he seems to talk about real down to earth stuff for the most part. what do yall think, or have you heard much of them?
neils7147933 08-04-2005, 01:33 AM Kinda off the subject, but Im just wondering what you hip hop heads think of the Game with GUnit and now after Gunit?
Do you feel the 50-Game beef was made up?
The fact that you want to talk about G-Unit more or less disqualifies your credibility discussing Biggie & Pac...lol
BLOODSHED 08-04-2005, 01:36 AM No, Im just curious about the Game. I dont like him at all, but I read everywhere and see people crediting his lyrics? I dont see whats so good.
neils7147933 08-04-2005, 01:40 AM I think the Game is very average. His first album is him kissing the ass of all the rappers he likes; who namedrops like that on a first studio album? And then presumes to be an equal? From the cover to the last second of that disc, he's at it. There's a couple decent songs, but I think I spent like 40 million BoxingScene points to get a copy of that the week it came out and I gave too much. So much for all the hype...
BLOODSHED 08-04-2005, 01:45 AM Very much the hype... things I dont like...
Game got dissed by a woman on change of heart tv show. He wanted to stay with the girl and she wanted to leave him. He got played.
Was a former male stripper.
Gay ass butterfly tattoo on his cheek.
Mentioning everyone... not much to talk about.
Then 50 says he gave Game all those tracks.
FistoftheDallasStar 08-04-2005, 01:49 AM you should definitely check hiro, souls of mischief, del (thefunkyhomosapien and 3030 are the same guy); they are still some of the most creative mc's out there. i considered them along with skee-lo, pharcyde, and dj quik the best in the west for a long time. more recently, xzibit, ras kass, people under the stairs, cali agents, likwit crew, and several others are doin it, but i still think people sleep on a lot creative talent from the west.

Naw, I haven't heard Zion. I'll try to check him out. Yeah, Hiro, Del and Souls are one of my favs as well. I heard Del is set to release a follow up to Deltron 3030. I'm lookin forward to that one.
neils7147933 08-04-2005, 01:50 AM I liked "In Da Club"
After that, I really haven't liked much of anything that the top-selling rap artist has put out. And I like a lot of pop stuff. It's not that he's "turned pop". Nothing off his new album is worth listening to; it sounds like an effortless collection of B-sides.
I liked the 50 Cent and the Game remix with Mary J. I heard today on the way to class; usually when 50 comes on the radio, though, I'm switching the dial. I'd rather hear one of these girls who sings in a pop rock band than listen to "just a little bit". Really - who buys this ****?

everybody kind of forgot about del, but i read in an interview that came out not long after 3030 that he was studying advanced music classes at an art school. he was talking about various composition techniques with chord patterns and stuff like that, so hopefully hell selfproduce a couple tracks on his new lp. i think hes still one of the most creative mcs out there.

27 years old...
FistoftheDallasStar 08-04-2005, 02:04 AM Haven't heard Del since his second album, when I was in like the 11th grade...
Yeah he is still going strong. Especially Deltron 3030 if you haven't listened to it, Neils it's a must own. It was released about 3 years ago. The concept of the alblum is dope. It's different so be prepared, but I like MC's that go against the grain and change up their styles.

The only Del album I have that survived my teen year selling-to-CD-stores-for-2-bucks-a-pop-to-buy-new-discs phase, to multiple change of addresses, is I wish my brother george was here. And the case to that second disc...lol

I got the name from the manga movie "Fist of the North Star". I just added a little twist to it since I'm a Dallas Cowboy fan. The symbols read: MOFLOW it's my sound production name.

He has changed up his style so much since those early records you probably wont recognize it. I used to bump those too, haha. Go to HIRO's website (http://www.hieroglyphics.com/) and check out del's new songs. It's a well made website. They have still have a strong underground following.

BLOODSHED 08-04-2005, 07:15 PM Recently... to a lot of fans they sold out with the song featuring 112. If that didnt do it, the signing to GUnit definately was the nail in the coffin.

There are about 3 decent songs, very mediocre album.
The Fix 08-10-2005, 07:07 PM the firm was a major let down but im kinda glad it flopped after the way nas did cormega

I liked it the first time thru with its mob theme. It doesn't really hold up to repeat listening though. I like Firm Biz and Phone Tap, though...

Phone Tap is very dope, other than that, i'd give it 3 mics out 5. Very lackluster.
BLOODSHED 08-12-2005, 12:37 AM A complete waste of talent if you ask me. I mean they had Dre as executive producer, Nas, Az and Foxy Brown who was the it girl at the time and they used that over-played Teena Marie sample from her song "Square Biz." That beat and the Luniz's beat(I know its not their beat) have been taken WAY too much in rap.

neils7147933 08-12-2005, 01:03 AM so there's three in the group and they just leave Spinderella's name out. couldn't they have found another spice name or maybe all been peppercorns and they could have named themselves after the shade they resembled the closest?

he, he's a weird dude, and I know everyone loves MJ. I do too. However, I dont think you could put together a 3 disc set of MJ material to rival this mix that I personally made. Prince just outhustled Mike as far as the amount of quality material released. I will do the same thing with MJ, but it will likely be a 2 disc set.
BLOODSHED 08-12-2005, 07:25 PM Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmh. I dont know. Michael has been making music since the Jackson 5. Even the Jackson 5 stuff gets sampled today like JayZ "H to the Izzo". Michael peaked in the 80s if you ask me.
Prince is still making good, solid music.

AZ better than both and been paying dues longer than Mega. 1/5 of Megas **** is about how Nas stepped on his toes and "doesn't come around the block no more".
AZ is better on the mic and his body of work is much better as well. Mega has nothing that even approaches Doe or Die.
I also can't see anything that Mega has brought that is unique to the game in terms of his flow or otherwise. Nobody has that smooth triple cadence flow like AZ.
Also off that last effort, 62 pickup and coco butter weren't even his beats.

BLOODSHED 08-14-2005, 09:29 PM Playa ****'s beat isnt bad. Dont like the flow and the gangsta voice of the rappers. I dont think it sounds like his natural voice like that guy with the EAST SIDE Boyz.
Then they ripped that beat from Camp-Lo for their song Slick Talkers. They should not have ripped that, it was a rap classic.
Overall: I've heard worse. I've heard better. The beats are decent but nothing sticks out to me.
