Well to be fair Benavidez is a VERY powerful wrestler and TBH, Torres is a great fighter but I never really believed he was all that, he has some pretty blaring weaknesses, one being his wrestling and the other being his defense standing up. But he's a tough bastard, he said on his twitter he was breathing in blood and couldn't see. I believe him because a fighter like him should have been able to avoid that guillotine. He'll definitely be back but I'm not sure if he'll reach that title again. Because I was the only one saying negative things about Miguel Torres, everyone on this site wanted to act like Miguel was some mma god. He aint p4p ****. Time for his ass to move up. Stop messin around with the Bantams. :twak: M Deezy 03-08-2010, 02:17 AM http://i48.tinypic.com/333g9eb.jpg Nasty Damn thats hella nasty. didnt get to watch the fight . . . Bullrush 03-08-2010, 08:33 AM are they required to release these pictures? why exactly do they do this all the time? as a fighter i would never let this go public so that my family/wife/kids can see the inside of my head. and as a doctor i would never release these pictures either because this not the public's business. so who does it and why H.O.P.E 03-08-2010, 08:38 AM damn what a cut :o you can see the skull on this foto ... Miguel makes it through most of his fights because of A) Conditioning B) Toughness I never thought he was P4P material. In fact I even made a post saying I wasn't surprised that he lost to Bowles after it had happened because he can't keep him god damned hands up. Young Herschel 03-08-2010, 01:21 PM Hard to see how much he improved with Team Cotto. With seven months too prepare I was looking for him to maximize his outrageous reach advantage (11 inches)! Is it just me or did Torres seemed to lack confidence with his stand-up? With his reach he should have been on constant takedown alert lol. Maybe he has been killing himself to make weight or something. This was a career defining win for Benevides if he can beat Cruz next. Cuauhtémoc1520 03-08-2010, 02:34 PM I will tell you one thing that MMA needs to get better at, checking fighters when they get cut. If that amount of blood was pouring out of the head of a boxer, the ref would stop the action and check the cut. It seems in MMA they allow the fight to go on and that's extremely dangerous for the fighters. I understand they are tough guys but the ref should have stopped action and checked on the cut. I seen in many times in MMA where there is a viscious cut and the fight goes on. Just my opinion.. I seen in many times in MMA where there is a viscious cut and the fight goes on. Just my opinion.. I agree. I would say that the ref was simply **** (actually he wasn't the only **** ref on the card. There was also the fat man who made LC Davis fight through obvious low blows). However, this is not the only time I've seen this sort of nonsense in MMA. On a side note, you may notice that in Japanese MMA they immediately stop the action in case of a cut to attend to the fighters. Sometimes it seems almost unfair to the opponent, as we are use to seeing the cornermen attend to the fighters between rounds, however you would never see the sort of thing as we saw with Torres here in Japan. Also, I have no qualms about admitting my dislike for Zuffa, for the record's sake. And for those who say that the refs have nothing to do with the promotion, one man named John McCarthy, who I believe over any forum poster, would beg to differ. I wish I could find the exact video, but according to him, if the UFC/Zuffa doesn't approve of a ref, the commission simply will not sanction them. I know Dana White has gone on the record to the contrary, skapegoating Steve Mazzagati and all, but anyone who believes a word from Dana White's mouth is quite simply a ****ing moron. I saw it with Joe Stevenson when he was cut and a few others. The action needs to be stopped and the fighter checked. That amount of blood loss could be very dangerous. $ LegenD $ 03-08-2010, 04:27 PM i actually think torres tried to be more elusive than usual just that lil joe brought the heat to him great gameplan....wat an elbow i also agree the action should of been stopped to assess the cut which of course still would of been a win for joe just a tko instead of a tap out F l i c k e r 03-08-2010, 09:24 PM It's not a lie. Because I know that I was the only one talking about Miguel like he wasn't great. Everyone else was acting like he was all god-like. Unless you didn't post in that topic, I believe you. Otherwise, that's a bold ass lie. |
