Just use Windows Media Player when creating your CD. Just make sure its an audio CD. You don't need to convert to WAV, unless you have a specific reason for doing so, otherwise, it is rather pointless. WAV is a better format because its better quality, but if you've just got the MP3 and you're converting to WAV, I'm not sure if it'd make the quality better. I think it'd be that you just lose quality when compressing down to MP3 and I don't think its reversible. You don't lose noticeable quality anyhow unless you're under 128 kbps or 96 kbps. I prefer MP3s at 192 kbps, but I really can't tell a huge difference in that and 96 kbps on most things. I hope I didn't confuse you more. Just put the mp3s directly onto a CD using whatever CD creating software you have. If you don't have anything, go to Google and find something free. Roxio Easy CD creator or something should be easy for you. Windows Media Player can be a pain in the ass at times. If you need to use this, just import your mp3s into the WMP library first. Its really simple. I'm sure you'll figure it out. Bombardier 05-20-2005, 08:15 AM mp3s have to be converted to wav files in order to play on a CD. So you are correct about the format. Maybe WMP does this automatically (I didn't even know you could make CDs using it until masterdirector pointed it out). The thing is that even if you convert that files to wav you still need to use a utility designed specfically to create audio CDs (as opposed to CDROMs). If you don't have one I'm sure there's like a million freeware programs out there (just watch out for spyware). I used to use a program called GoldWave to covert my mp3s to wav files back when I was burning CDs this way. Don't think it's freeware anymore, though. masterdirector 05-20-2005, 08:22 AM yeah okay I guess most CD burning software does this automatically because I've never converted MP3 to WAV unless I wanted to edit the files some, or cut snippets for my own custom computer sounds (like I have the Fantastic Voyage hook play when a DVD finishes burning). |
