View Full Version : NRL Tipping Comp
Dan... 03-02-2010, 04:48 PM Who might be keen for it? Philfy's tipping thread is pretty much the only thing that keeps the Aussie Forum pumping, so we might as well try it for League as well.
Rules would be something like:
- 1 point per correct tip
- Margins would be picked for one game each week
- Failure to tip would result in the tipper taking the away teams
- Competition would include the Finals series
Anyone keen for it?
Philfy 03-02-2010, 05:59 PM Count me in.
I would be interested. As long as quite a few people join in.
Philfy 03-02-2010, 06:52 PM You could always do it through foxsports tipping and create your own 'boxingscene' league there.

Yeah, that would be the key. How many do you think we need to make it doable?

You are a smarter man than I. I will set it up pending confirmation that we have sufficient numbers.
i'll be in it
go the mighty eagles

Ok, so that would make 4. I'm guessing brently and boxing great would be in for it as well. Maybe woftam and macho madness as well?
Would probably be alright if we had 8.

Yeah I was planning on getting it going on footytips.com but I have just been absolutely smashed at work these last few days so I haven't had time. I will try and do it now. Apologies for it being so late.
Dan... 03-10-2010, 10:48 PM Ok, done. Here is the link to it:

Awesome mate good to hear it. Just go to the link I provided and sign up.
Good to see another Broncs fan on the boards, can never have enough.
Corey Norman - talented young bloke from the 20s last season who has played the house down in a couple of trial games this season. Be interesting to see how he does tomorrow night.

Oh yeah, never heard of him ill look him up.
Itll be interesting to see how the new Broncs outfit go this year, very young side. North Queensland will give them a good go at Suncorp though...
Dan... 03-12-2010, 12:09 AM Bump.
We are up to 5 members - we said we would want 8. There are still a few who said they would join who are yet to do it.
Macho Madness 03-13-2010, 09:34 PM im in:)
been without a computer for quite sometime lol
boxing_great 03-13-2010, 10:17 PM that was a pretty good game between cowboys and broncos..
It's always close and exciting..
JT had a blinder. can't believe they came back from 24-0 down I think it was.
That last try to the broncos would have been demoralising for JT.
Dan... 03-14-2010, 06:44 PM Thurston was great. Ripped us apart. Pretty exciting stuff though.
Shows where Brisbane and Sydney are at when they can't even sell 20,000 tickets to a Parra-St George season opener when they were 2 of the best 3 sides from last season. Ridiculous.
boxing_great 03-14-2010, 11:38 PM Brisband might up end up hosting the grand final one day.

Na, even I wouldn't want to see that.
Sydney is the home of League. Its just a shame you ppl don't actually go to games. You can't even sell out Origin. Its pathetic.
boxing_great 03-14-2010, 11:45 PM its always been brought up on the sunday roast as a possible option.

I just don't think the GF would be the same if you took it out of Sydney.
Its just great sitting down and watching the GF day, I dunno I think it would lose something if they took it out of Sydney.
We should get every single Test match though. Sydney ppl don't even go to those games.
We are much better league fans up here.

Yeah i dont know what is with the NSW fans, they seem to lose interest in Rugby League more and more every year. Its embarrassing seeing great teams like the Roosters play in Telstra stadium, only to witness a sea of empty blue chairs :O

Yeah, I don't understand the push for more games at Telstra. It's just too big. The Bulldogs and Tigers need to stay at Belmore and Leichardt ovals respectively. Much more fan friendly with a greater atmosphere.

Agree 100% mate. I much prefer watching the games at those grounds.
anyone watch that game tonight, rabbitohs played **** and still won by a mile
i really cant see how cronulla will ever win a game, going off these last 2 weeks

Yeah, they were dreadful tonight.

The reason why games are played at Telstra & the SFS is that the clubs get paid way more money for playing there then what they do at Leichardt & Belmore.
Plus the maintenance cost of playing at Leichardt and Belmore is far more.
They have to bring in the massive screenings etc.
I myself have been to lost of games at both grounds as a kid.
Man I'm doing poor in the tipping this week.
Philfy 04-03-2010, 08:47 PM Anybody pick the Sharks to upset the Eels?
boxing_great 04-04-2010, 09:31 AM Anybody pick the Sharks to upset the Eels?
I didn't.
What a strange scoreline..

I'm surprised stuart hasn't lost his coaching job already though..
manly got lucky with that matai try yesterday
I'm doing really well in the NRL tipping, but you guys have to remember to tip each week.
Damn...I have not been doing well the past few rounds.
Dan... 07-05-2010, 08:13 PM Damn...I have not been doing well the past few rounds.
Yeah, you are going to struggle to catch me I think.
Yeah, you are going to struggle to catch me I think.
2 correct tips this week, 3 if Queensland win.
2 out of 8 correct tips this week :nonono:
I'm doing better in the AFL tipping the past couple of rounds and I don't even put much thought into the teams I tip :ugh:

2 out of 7 mate. Two teams had the bye.
I think I got 4.

Still 2 out of 7 is poor.
