"Just because Bernard and De La Hoya became partners don't mean he needs to run like Oscar....Bernard is a real smart dude, so he knows fighting Winky Wright's not his best move if he wants to secure his legacy." - Winky Wright

Let's hope Taylor wins so we know the winner of Hopkins-Taylor will fight Wright. Though I won't fault Hopkins if he goes up to fight the 175 lbs champion.

Winky is starting to talk too much **** for his own good. I think he's doing it because he knows that Hopkins IS NOT going to fight him after Taylor and he just wants to make it look like he was doing all he could to call out Nard.

I like Winky a lot, but I think Nard would beat him quite soundly. You don't beat Bernard Hopkins by standing in front of him with a jab and good defense. He, unlike Tito, can deal with good boxers.

winky deserves to trash talk, it took him so long to get the spotlight... he should enjoy it while it lasts.

As much as he deserves to be in the spot light he should stay humble no matter what and don't let **** get to his head. I would love for Taylor to bring him back down to earth.

"What else can Trinidad do now but retire? His balance is gone. It seemed like he could barely stand up. He's got the herky-jerkies. It does nothing for my legacy now to beat up Trinidad again. Tito, Papa Trinidad and Don King didn't do their homework. Winky Wright has always been a spoiler, and he's hungry. For years, he's been screwed over, just like Vernon Forrest was. This was his big chance. He wasn't about to blow it."

Everyone anticipated that Hopkins would face Trinidad conqueror Winky Wright, but Hopkins said that fight will probably never happen due to financial reasons. Hopkins does not feel that there is enough money to be made in the fight.

<b>"Probably not (on facing Wright). Oh, I might make $4 million or $5 million for fighting Winky. But if I had fought Trinidad again, I might have gotten $15 million after asking for $20 million. So I guess I'm down to two fights now."</b>

Hes got a point, theres no money in it for him, and yea, it isnt worth the risk.

i agree with this. b-hop is a complete fighter. he can box and he can slug. he knows how to fight with boxers and sluggers. you have to be multidimensional against hopkins. hopkins probably has all the weapons of mass destruction in his arsenal. :D

winky just better enjoy his recent win and keep his mouth shut about b-hop..he just beat a past his prime tito and beat a midget in mosley.he wouldnt be able to use just one arm like he did against tito.he deserves some credict for beating tito but he needs to not get the swoll head and actually believe the he is a P4P best fighter.he gets in the ring with taylor or b-hop and he will end up KOed on the canvas.

I would love for Taylor to bring him back down to earth.

Wright hasn't left Earth, bud. Everything he has said has been true. He did nothing but tell the truth. Midget Mosley and "past his prime" (yeah right) Tito were picked by many to beat Wright...well we know what happened there. Give the man his due. It ain't braggin' if you can back it up.

If Winky really wanted Hopkins, he should have been pursued him.

Winky has been pursuing Hopkins. On ********** Hopkins promised to fight him (this was about a yr ago). Since Hopkins will not fight Winky, he is obviously not so confident he can beat him. "Only" $4-5 million? Right. I bet he's lucky to make that much for fighting Taylor and he won't make that much vs Tarver or Johnson either. Winky is more proven and respected than Taylor by boxing insiders and experts. Not that Taylor is a pushover.

i didnt pick tito to beat winky.i knew once got KOed by hopkins,he wouldnt be the same fighter again.tito didnt impress me when he beat mayo,,,for gods sake spinks beat mayo...he backs what up..like i said he beat midget mosley and a past his prime tito...what has he proved in those fights..nothing..mosley was never that great..oh wait he beat the golden girl ODH..oh wow...and in the second fight ODH whipped the **** outta mosley.he was given a gift win.and tito never should unretired cuz he is not that great a fighter any more...wright jabbed tito to death because tito never tryed to fight back..if winky fought b-hop he would be in alosing effort..hop would bring the fight to him and take him out in the late rounds..taylor would press the fight hard and prolly take out winky in 7....all in all if WW fought b-hop or taylor ,,winky would end up on his stinky..

Nard don't want to fight Winky cuz he will only make 4-5 mills???, who can Nard fight and make more than that???

I think that Nard knows he can get his old ass beat by Winky...Nard got fuk up by himself, he didn't gave Tito's rematch right away and now he lost his big payday....

He can fight winner of Tarver-Johnson for more than that. Thats what he wants to do for his legacy.

I admired Wright because he had tremendous skills, yet he was a humble guy. If he turns into the next James Toney, I will root for either Hopkins or Taylor to put him in his place.

What makes you think Tarver or Johnson will give him a higher payday than Winky? Those two fighters combined are being paid what Winky Wright was paid for Saturday.

Wright a quiet man? I doubt it. He will be talking now for all the years he felt outshined and could not say anything.

Wright made 5 million because of his opponent. He was not paid because of his achievements or the entertainment he provides. Things could start to be good for Wright now.

He was still paid $4 million (this is what HBO stated on the telecast) for fighting. They could have found Joe Dirt to fight if Tito's opponent was irrelevant. Winky was paid what he was paid because he was a respected fighter that Tito needed to fight.

He just outclassed the biggest 160lb draw in the sport while the other two beat a fading Roy Jones and will fight one another in a fight that won't be PPV. No way does Tarver or Johnson net more money for Hopkins than Winky.

I am not saying that Wright is bad. He is amazing actually. I mean that Wright got that because against Trinidad, a boxer makes a lot of money. Take for example Hopkins. I don't remember what he got in the Trinidad fight, but I think it was a million or more. Then, he was fighting Joppy for 350,000 and that was after dominating Trinidad and stopping him in the 12th. Get my point now?

I got your point initially and it is a damn fine one. Kind of sucks when nobody refutes your point though. :)

Wright got that because he was fighting Trinidad but it also had to do with him being Winky Wright. Do you think Trinidad facing Felix Sturm would have drawn as much? Do you think Sturm would be paid 4 or $5 million to fight Tito? I don't. Wright is now a draw after beating one of the top draws in the sport; one who came off an EXTREMELY impressive fight with Mayorga. Tarver (if he wins) beat a washed up Roy Jones and Glen Coffee in his previous two fights. I don't see how that would net Hopkins much money.

Going up to light heavyweight to fight should he defeat Taylor would be the best move for him. His time is getting shorter so he should do what's best for his legacy. Wright vs. Hopkins would be nice no doubt. I would've loved to see this fight if it were 1 or 2 years earlier. But it's better if Hopkins moves up for one last fight, and try to gain a title there.

Taylor will beat B-Hop then Taylor would fight Winky.

Taylor vs Winky would be good since Taylor can ACTUALLY box sumtimes. LOL
