In my opinion Mos Def is actually a pretty good actor, not just "good for a rapper" he actually started off acting before rapping.

Ice Cube is limited, but serviceable, but XXX: State of the Union is a steaming turd.

TI and actor don't belong in the same sentence.

Snoop Dogg generally plays "himself", but he's done some branching out. Still below average.

Haven't thought much of Common but he hasn't had too many roles that required much (same as will.i.am)

Eminem was okay, but keep in mind he was 'playing himself'

LL and Ludacris could keep careers acting even if they quit music. They're both decent. So was Bow Wow in Roll Bounce and Like Mike.

Eve had her own sitcom, she would be higher on the list than some of these folks.

DMX and Nas have had on-screen roles too, but they're not that great.

I agree , love the man , in The italian Job. He was cool. And the other one where he plays a chef or something like that. He bakes cakes or something , his role was weird but he played it very well.

I think he's pretty convincing; to be on a white channel NBC( please don't take offense) and be taken seriously as a acting cop? That's huge. I'm sure a lot of ppl still know he used to be a pimp and a rapper saying fu(k the police. That's like Tom Cruise being a rapper rapping about the gospel of God and being taken serious on one of those church channels.

I just think when they say "best Actor" you would want someone with range. Ice-T plays a badass cop or a badass bad guy. You'll never see him in a romantic comedy or a kids film like Ice Cube or playing a superhero like Will Smith or in a sci fi like Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy like Mos Def.

He'll keep playing Ice-T. You don't watch that show and say "look a cop" you say, "hey look it's Ice-T and he has a badge..." That show is known for crazy over the top storylines and acting anyway. Vincent D'Onofrio on Criminal Intent is a total ham..

Ludacris was the **** in Crash.

DMX was badass in Cradle 2 The Grave.

The Game was pretty good IMO in Waist Deep & Street Kings.

But I gotta say my favorite is Ice Cube in the Friday movies.
