In honor of HBO's continued insistence on bringing the American public bad heavyweight boxing, as witnessed by the recent flurry of Ruiz and Brewster appearances, I give you the ten worst heavyweight champions of all time....

I agree with most of the list actually. However, i would have included Mike Weaver over Plinklon Thomas!

I actually agree with you. Maxboxing is a disgrace. And Michael Katz is a biased disgrace.

True, Weaver was good value to watch but was he good? The fact that he had wars with B level heavies shows that he had to dig deep to beat so so heavies. He certainly had heart though, i guess that saves him from the top ten worse!

Frank Bruno was like someone who's impotent. Fired the bullet but it was too slow to reach the target!

Mike Weaver was a very good fighter. He ko'ed Coetzee, he had Larry Holmes out on his feet..but lost a tough fight. He certainly wasn't great, but I don't think he belongs on any all time worst list. He had tremendous power and conditioning. His problem was the chin.

My favorite Weaver fight is when he was an old trial horse and one-punched Carl The Truth Williams with one stunning left hook.

Weaver was one of my favorite action fighters

The author is an idiot. Carnera simply wasn't that bad. People parrot what they have heard from others. Not many have seen film though. Having the mob involved doesn't automatically make a guy terrible.

Impotency is problem getting it up not ejaculating! Back to the drawing boards with you.

Quite right! i guess in John Ruiz`s case he had no need to ejaculate, he`s SQUEEZE IT OUT!

Carnera is def. not the worst of that list. And Ruiz better then Thomas, Tubbs, Braddock etc.?????? Thomas and Tubbs would've pasted Ruiz all over the ring ten times over, and Carnera would've mauled him . .Primo was much stronger and better wrestler then Ruiz!!!

Weaver was a marked man, and he knew it.All those contenders were gunning for him, and Cooney,Page,Snipes, and definitely Cobb could've probably beaten him.

Weaver got smoked by Dokes in one rd. (controversial stoppage)...& then gave Dokes absolute hell in the rematch. many thought he won (myself included).
But, I believe he was facing a Dokes who was in the process of becoming a true cokehead.

IMO John Ruiz is the worst and most undeserving HW champion if that is what you want to consider him (I don't) Of all-time.

It seems several of Dokes' wins at the top level had a taint to them.If he only had developed some legit power, he would have been hell to deal with.
