I have pretty much every game console ever created...yes that includes neo-geo, 32x, atari, sega cd etc...

I've always been a playstation guy and never bought the X-Box (in fact I boycotted it because it steals every PS game outside of Halo)...anyway, I won't be buying PS3 until it has a price drop...450+ is just too ****ing much.

Ive been a ps guy also never had the x-box.
If the price is $465 and stays $465 as soon as it comes out I will but it.
The PS2 was going for like 800-1000 dollars when it came out.

Im probably buying them in the order theyre coming out. Starting with xbox and than PS3, not sure about nintendo. Lol!

Games are being hiked up to $59.99 as well.

But I guess that still beats the price tags games use to carry when gameboys games were like $75.00 and snes/genesis were around $95.00 a piece.

Those dropped fairly quickly though because there was that big complaint over games being 1/3 of the price of the system. Hopfully the PS3 will drop to around 300 and games will go down to the 50 area.

Hell yeah if I see that or street fighter II tournament edition I automatically go get change for a dollar and run game.

I think my crowning moment in video game history was when I was 15 yrs old at the mall in Portland, Maine. There was this large gang (not literal gang but large group of kids) of Japanese guys who worked at the Sarku Japan restaurant who always played SF2TE and just ran kids out of the arcade because they were so good. I had never played them before but I was amazing at SF2TE and I wanted to challenge em. My cousin told me to go play them because he had seen them play and knew I could beat their best player. Needless to say, I stepped up on my last 50 cents and asked if I could get in next game. This poor kid got ****ing destroyed in front of me because he picked like Dhalsim or something. Anywho, their best player was good as **** with Ryu and always seemed to be him. I put my 50 cents in and he picked Ryu sure enough and I picked Guile (my bread and butter). Round 1 commenced and I knew he was going to think I was going jump kick from the get go so he delay dragon uppercutted and I just took a step back and hit him with a slow sonic boom. Round 1 seemed to last forever because we were blocking like everything but sure enough the time clicked out and I outlasted him thru rd1 and I had more life so I took rd1. He was clearly flustered. In round 2 he tried to wait for an opening but I'm excellent with throwing sonic booms to i just SB'ed my way in and took a quick step back when I reached him and then he took a step forward and I got him with an uppercut. I proceeded to back into a corner and throw SB's while he threw fireballs. We were blocking everything but I had the life advantage so he came at me and I beat him (took his life all the way out before time was up) with flash kicks, sweeps, and low WEAK punches.

After I beat him his boys were so stunned/shocked/pissed and I just walked away leaving him without a rematch. About an hour later on my way out of the mall I made those guys make me an order of Chicken Teryaki to go. :D

i got it. the only game i got for it though is capcom vs snk

that looks sweet. not sure if ill get it when it come out right off because 450 is a bit steep

i look at the ps2 pad and theres no wasted space.
now the ps3 pad looks sorta like the joke that was a nintendo 64 pad.

ive heard its 35 times faster than the ps2 and at least twice
as fast as the officially released xbox360

It is more powerful and faster than the 360, but will it be put to use? Probably not.

All of the new systems coming out will look astonishing.

The reason Sony changed up on the controller look is because they get sued and lost for the whole "force feedback" ordeal.

Considering the ps3 will be backwards compatible the dvd ordeal wont be a factor. Sony has already stated that they are going with the blu ray discs, because of the capacity it can make "movie realistic" gaming. I am afraid of horrid load times with something that large.

Sony will prevail this time. They've learned from their mistakes with Betamax and this time the Blu Ray will win. I've little doubt. Or, both formats will exist side-by-side. Either way, BluRay isn't going away. Its the format I would personally endorse. The fact that it is the format on the PS3 games is reason enough to endorse it. And they've got some decent distribution deals already lined up, unlike before with the Betamax, where they wanted to hog the technology.

The Betamax was a far superior format to the VHS actually, though idiots laugh anytime they hear Beta brought up, as if it was a poor man's VHS or something. That's ****ing idiots for you though. Like when people laughed at the Dreamcast just because it failed. It was still superior in every way to the PS1 and obviously the n64. Hell, the Dreamcast was as good as the ****ing GameCube.

Yeah I won't buy a PS3 until there's either a price drop or at least unless there is a game that I've just GOT to have for it. A lot of people will go buy it upon release, but they're more into ****ty games than me. I like boxing games and the GTA games. A couple others, but not a huge gamer anyhow. And I cheat like hell if I can.

was ps2 released already? xbox360 will be released in late november this year, could well be catching up sales of ps2, Time mag. said. how's their prices going? if ps2 is so expensive, xbox might not be far.

sony have compared what they have so far to the officially
released x360 and have said there machine is more than twice
as fast. though until the official specs are revealed for ps3
we will have to take thier word for it. :D
