Where would Winky be now if he was given a shot 5 or 6 years ago,he has always been slick fighter but was ducked by everyone but Vargas.Do you think he'd be ranked with Hoya, Nard, ect.

He would have probably lost to a younger version of Hopkins, I think. He would have been a two division champion but a younger Hopkins would have been too much.

Oh stop it already.

Winky was given plenty of shots in the past.

He was given a shot at the IBF belt in the mid 90's agaisnt Vasquez and you know what he did?...HE LOST

He fought a young Hary Simon for the WBO belt and you know what he did?...HE LOST

He fought a young Fernando Vargas for the IBF belt and you know what he did?...HE LOST

Stop with all this Winky has been so ducked bull**** and thats exactly what it is bull****. He had 3 title shots and lost them all. He didn't deserve big fights, up until he fought Mosley the best fighter he had beaten was Bronco McKart. He had a repuation for coming up short in his biggest fights.

Hard to say. All those so-called champs did avoid him and for the reason we saw the other night. He's difficult ot beat and he isn't an exciting type fighter with a big following.

Sometimes things happen for a reason OR don't happen for a reason.

He's still not a cash cow BUT he's making waaaaaay more than he was making.

Good for him.

Yeah, I heard that despite the 5 kd's against JCV, that it was still a razor thin decision loss for him. I know the Vargas fight was close as hell and I don't know who the third loss was against.

I believe that Wright is similar to L.L. in that he hit his stride later than most. I DO think he outfought Vargas....didn't see the others but make no mistake JOSE......he was definetly ducked by many as a "big risk for (comparatively) small payday" fighter.

Winky is this year's version of Tarver.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

That's plenty when you do it for a living.

Winky has been screwed in the past and he will be champion soon. ;)
