Frankie has prolly the best hands in the game. So many guys went into the fight with BJ thinking "i gotta get this fight on the mat" but edgar is like, "ima show my superior hand speed" it will be a boxing match for a few rounds in which i think Frankie will land cleanly. He's too short and Penn will pick him apart with the jab and once Edgar gets close Penn will land that right on the inside and drop him. IDK if that is the blueprint though, GSP is a freak of nature, so he was able to control BJ, but everyone else who tried failed miserably, and they prolly shoulda tried their luck striking instead, like Kenny Florian.
