nance 05-15-2005, 09:30 PM Carlao,
I just met someone last night from Puerto Rico, with a heavy accent. Do you have one? I love accents, even when they are hard to understand the one speaking English. His take on the language was a bit hard to understand, but he was funny (in a good way) to listen to.

MCM you've been to some cool places. I have a friend that has a sister that owns a hostel and runs a tourism company in south Africa, I'll probably go there in the next few years I can't wait. Did you like Africa?
Saudi Arabia, why were you there? Were you born there? Did you have to wear a vail?
Greece is so damn cool I can't wait to go there. So much history. There are so many places I want to go I just don't know were to go first. Traveling is the best thing a person can do if you ask me, particualarly when you're young. If I want to go somewhere I just go. When I went to Australia I left quite abruptly with about $1200 Canadian. Boy did I learn alot. Luckily I ended up finding a farm that payed by the bin picking oranges and I ended up being their best picker, I drove the tractor to. It worked out between the tractor and the 4 bins I picked to about $160 a day which is pretty good for a guy who showed up broke. I feel like I could survive anywhere after that trip.

I was born in Missouri, moved to Nevada at age 4, moved back to Missouri at age 9, back to Nevada, then to Maryland at age 11, then to Utah at age 12, Missouri at age 14, Montana at age 15,
Greece at age 16, boarding school while my dad was in Al-Jubail, Saudi Arabia. I would live there when not in school, for a total of three months. I was supposed to wear an abaya, but my dad was a cheapskate and wouldn't spend the money for it, so I got pinched when we went grocery shopping and there wasn't much I could do about it, like here in the U.S. I didn't go out much, so I read books. I read about 20 novels that summer of 6 weeks. While I was there, the King of that time had died, so the whole county was in a state of mourning and it was interesting on how they did that. What little tv there was, was gone. I don't know how it was on the outside because I didn't go out at all. My dad was told that it was not a good idea, but that was fine as we left shortly after that happened. I babysat for co-workers of my dad and got paid triple what I would in the US and they looooved me. They had the two most rambunctious little boys that no one could control, except their parents and me. :D While babysitting one night, I started reading a story to them out of one of their books. I found something my dad had been looking for. Proof of where Custer's last stand was. My dad had a bet with a guy at work on that location. Since we lived in Montana, we knew where it was and this other guy was insistent he knew where it was, so the bet was on. No way to prove it until I found that book. My dad collected on his $100 bet and I got NOTHING from it. My dad is such a cheapskate!!
Okay, back on track...we moved back to the states and stayed in Missouri for 3 months until we moved to Texas. I was in my senior year of high school. I had moved EVERY year in high school. I lived there for a year after high school, then moved out on my own to Arizona and met my husband. We moved to Texas, then back to Arizona, then to California in 1989 and have been in four locations here since. We're here to stay for awhile now.
I love it here.
Kenya Africa was INCREDIBLE!! I LOVED it!!! The people were friendly and accomadating NOT because they wanted your dollars, they are that way naturally. They loved showing off their beautiful country. It was the most amazing place I've ever been to. Going to the zoo is something of a disappointment to me, because of seeing the same animals in the wild...there's just no comparison. It's not to put zoos down in anyway, as I think they are awesome for educating those who cannot get over to Africa. My kids love the zoo. :)
I had my 17th birthday in Africa and had food poisoning as well, but would do it all over again. The baboons are one animal you DON'T want to piss off...lol...one guy did and they have an evil hiss and a scary face!!! We saw rhinos, cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, gazelles, flamingos, warthogs(including one VERY horny warthog...lol), elephants, lions and even a leopard hidden in a tree(I spotted him :D ).
I highly recommend Africa to anyone!!! It's awesome!!

Carlao 05-16-2005, 04:04 PM Wizard- I'm not rich by any measures. I traveled alot while I was in the Marines. The 2 main units that I was in (2nd Anglico and 2nd Force Recon/ 2nd SRIG) have a history for been deplyed all the time. I remeber that in 95 out of 365 days I was deplyed 270. You do the math.
After the military I decided to back pack the world. I have saved a good amount of money and wanted to just travel. I did just about every odd job out there for food adn travel $$$. After one year of sleeping in train stations, USO's, Airpoprts, cheap motels, and friends I got tired adn came back to Florida and here I'am.
If you are looking to back pack I can give you tons of hints, but be ready to live at a minimum, dirty, hungry, and to meet some of the most interesting people and places that you will ever see. It was perhaps the most enlighting experience of my life!!!
Wizard 05-16-2005, 09:10 PM That sounds great, nature is one of the biggest reasons I travel. I'm not big on zoo's as I think alot of the time it's kinda cruel, but I still go to them because I like animals so much.
Saudia Arabia sounds like it was an interesting experience. Africa is a place that I will definately go no matter WHAT the **** gets in my way. It has the most gordeous wildlife and it's cheap. It's good to here that the people were nice in Kenya, I heard the same about people in south africa.Well, in the tourist areas anyway.
When I was in Australia I saw alot of wildlife, even a centipede I found in my tent one time that was about 7 inches long. It was the biggest kind in the world, they're poinsonous and I have never been so freaked in my life, I fed Crocs aswell. So many things happened when I travelled it's hard to just pick one and tell it. Especially with my terrible grammer. Anyway ya, South Africa, Brazil, Japan, and a nice big tour of Europe are first on my list. I can't wait to make my first move. I just need to save about 10,000. In Australia they have a deal with Canadians so we can come and work, in Africa and the other places I don't think that would work out. I might be able to work in Europe.

I went through a similar experience in Australia, I backpacked it from Cairns all the way down the east coast to Sidney. Backpacking can be rough but as you said you meet the most interesting people and you learn alot about the world. No offence, but it kind of annoys me to here america sent marines to all those places, america is always poking around somewhere.

When I went to Florida recently, we saw a few alligators cruising the waterways. I didn't go to close to any body of water as I was worried about seeing one up close and personal....*shudder*. I wouldn't know what to do...lol.
I want to see Austraila as my oldest daughter does too. She wants to go for the guys and the surfing. I want to go for the experience and the koala bears. :D
My other daughter wants to visit the east coast next year to see the history rich areas. She's an American History buff. We're planning on going right after she graduates in June '06. I can't wait, just me and her. :)

I held a Koala bear, its funny, they're not even in the same family as bears, everyone calls them Koala bears though. Austalians get a kick outa that. They are so chilled out, they just hug on to you and cuttle. Very slow moving animals. Crocs are very intimidating, There was one in a hostel I stayed at on Magnetic Island and one night I got drunk and went up to it. I stared in it's eye drunk for like 5 minutes.
(we had a fence between us thank god) They just sit there and wait. VERY instictive animals, There is no nagotiating with them. it's pretty impressive watching them eat.
The east coast is beutifull and you and your daughter will enjoy it. It's safe to especially compared to america. Even in the citys. Make sure you go to Cairns of all places. it's in northern Queensland and they're many good deals for going snorkaling in the great barrier reef(the best thing I have ever done besides losing my virginity) and really cool hikes. It's very tropical there. Also be sure to go to frazier Island, you won't regret it, it's gorgeous.

The Marines did not sent me to all those places. Most of the travel was sponsored by another country, the DOD, or during my backpacking days. I think the best way you should put your comment is: "USA is always poking their heads everyhere". But that is general common knowledge.

No I disagree, The U.S doesn't just "poke their heads in" "Or take a gander" They pull strings and poke around". I won't get into the semantics because my english isn't polished, but my point is the way you worded it just doesn't agree with me.

I don't see how it's "glorified" as you put it. America is rich with history despite how young it is. I'm interested in history as well, from anywhere. I hated the subject in high school, but have grown to love it, especially when my daughter gets excited about something she's studying. And there is nothing wrong with being interested in the history of your country when you're young. It can make you very enlightened no matter what historical content you are studying.

Then my friend you have no idea what you are missing. Even if you have no interest in North American history, the US have great places to see. Just to nae a few that I'm glad I will not die without been there and places that made think and be thankfull for the world:
Yellowstone Park, Asheville NC, California has a ton of places that are incredible, Savanah GA, Florida Everglades, Utah, Alaska, the masive Corn Fields of Iowa, The Great Lakes, Niagara Falls, New Mexico, the Grand Canyon,Glacier National Park, Pecos National Park, Washington DC., New York, The french Quater, Hawaii, Yosemite National Park, Valley Forge National Historical Park, Trail Of Tears National Historic Trail, Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Stone Mountain GA.
Those are just a few places that I can remeber of the top of my head. Sir, do not shorten yourself out because the actions of poor leaders around the world. I've been around the world, literally, and I will tell you and anyone else that North America is the greatest place in the world. There are places that I would love to visit even live for a period of time, but I will rest my days in the USA!
handjobs4dollars 05-17-2005, 07:16 PM niagara falls and the great lakes are not that great when you live there.

To add to that list; the magnificent redwoods (northern California)Zion National Park in Utah,(I know you said Utah) the Ozarks in MO/AR...the Smithsonion Institute in D.C. the beauty of the fall leaves in Missouri are so gorgeous, I can't believe anyplace else has prettier leaves in the fall. Big Sky Montana. And even I say the deserts of the US are beautiful if you look at it with an open mind (I'm not desert lover). The Rocky Mtns. Colorado is beautiful as well. My favorite place from memory is Duck's Creek in Cedar, UT. My dad would take me fishing there when I was a kid. I miss be able to hike. I love the mountains.
Then we have some of the most beautiful beaches on either coast.

I've studied a little bit in highschool. I referred to it as glorified because hollywood seems to make movie after movie about some war in american history and fill it with hero's.
It's like every six months I see a new one in the movie store and it's annoying.

There are also other movies out there about other historical events. Especially this past year.
Remember though, that most of those movies are based on true events and the real truth needs to be studied. Most of history is quite interesting.

Funny that you are taking an inpression on MOVIES of what North America is about. Even in HS what ia tought of American History is mosly wqashed and uneducated stories. Oh did I mentioned that I was a HS history teacher.
Travel the world, visit those places that you think have no history or washed up accounts adn ask the people that live there. Is funny how easy is to find someone that thier relatives had something to do with that part of history.
Leather- Now that you mentioned it Tenerife is the ****. Man I got some good stories about Tenerife. Something to do with some Swedish girls. I also love that Banana liquor that they have there and Absinth (sp) is not good for you. LOL

I stopped reading your post after this sentence because it's so ****ing stupid. I know it's hard for you to understand being your american and your education system focuses only only your godly perfect country, but in Canada(that's north of you ;) ) we learn a great deal about american history and the 13 colonies etc. Now eat ****.
EDIT:
I just read your second paragraph, you seem to have missunderstood me. I know full well aboput alot of the stuff to see in america. I've seen the grand Canyon and am interested in some of your parks but I just don't give a **** about your glorified history. I'm much more interested in anchient history. The wildlife to be seen in the U.S don't really differ to much from what I can see here in Canada and when I travell I like to see things that differ alot from what I can see at home, Things that seem, Alien so to speak. America is simply not exotic enough. Yellowstone would be cool though.
When it comes to where I'd want to live, I don't think there is a place on earth I'd wanna live more then British Columbia.

First things first: Another dumb ass Kanuck makes an assumption and has worst spelling than I do (english is my 3rd language). I'm not North American, **** face. (I'm only insulting you since you feel more confortable using profanity). My education is by far North American and I have spent time in BC. Which is a beautyful place, but not for me to live. We all have our own particular choices of where to live and what to do.
**America is simply not exotic enough.** This comment tells me plenty about your maturity level, how well educated, and open minded. Hence, I will stop this particular internet war with you this instant.

Wizard 05-18-2005, 10:32 PM First things first: Another dumb ass Kanuck makes an assumption and has worst spelling than I do (english is my 3rd language).
Seriously you are one high strung ****. The only thig that's worth my time is mentioning that you a stupid **** for thinking I had no reasoning behind saying it's not exotic enough. America's wildlife is just simply NOT THAT INTERESTING. It's absolutely piss all compared the rest of the world. Don't you lecture me you piss ant, I know very well the above comment.
And for the record me mentioning America's wildlife or nature not being exotic is completing reasonable, it's the gospal truth and you don't come within a cunt hair of knowing what im talking about. I might not have good grammer but that has no relevancy to what I'm talking about. If you want to debate about the wildlife issue then bring it on you *****, I've been to a few places, walked in jungles, and swam with dolfins, I'm a little drunk but I'll come out and say it. America has nothing on africa, nothing on asia and nothing on south a ****ing america when it comes to wildlife, especially when you've grown up in North america having experienced it so much. Kiss my ass. Nothing ios exotic about americas wildlife. Maybe florida and a few oth places.
Can anyone who is not canadian name who the prime minister is without googling it? Didnt think so. Now, who can tell me who the President of the United states is? I love when people get to fighting about who's country is better, makes for some good reading....

You did come off sounding as if America isn't good enough for you to get to know, historywise as well as our wildlife. There are alot of things, places and events that have happened here that not even I have discovered yet. Every place has interesting places to visit. Hey, if I''m not interested in it, then I'm not interested in it. There is so much else I'd like to learn and see that has nothing to do with america and that's not a crime. You americans are so tangled up in america you start on the counterattack even when somebody hasn't really attacked.
It isn't a crime to not be interested in america and if you think it is, well then you have a problem.

Lets have a debate about wildlife. I said it's not exotic enough for my interests and you **** yourself saying it shows immaturity our whatever. Now quit the act, lets go *****!
What's exotic Wildlife?
GeminiB17ch681 05-19-2005, 09:10 PM is there a point to all this?
Wizard 05-19-2005, 09:20 PM **America is simply not exotic enough.** This comment tells me plenty about your maturity level, how well educated, and open minded. Hence, I will stop this particular internet war with you this instant.
Now this is the biggest pile of **** I have seen in weeks. You have absolutely know ground to stand on with this comment. This comment tells you plenty about my maturity level? OOOOOO really? how so?
Exotic 1: From another part of the world.
2: Intriguingly unusual or different.
I could post more definitions but I guess your so damn flawlessly educated I don't need to right?
Moving on...
America is not exotic enough for me, I live in British Columbia Canada and have watched alot of Discovery channel, spent alot of time in the bush, and have done countless studies on animals and wildlife especially for someone whos my age. The wild life in america paricularly the northern half is not at all that much different from Canada's wildlife. Any species you have in that region will be directly related to species in Canada for the most part. The southern parts however are warmer and has wildlife a little more exotic. But it's just not enough for me. When I say exotic, I mean beutifull birds with every color of the rainbow, strange reptiles and so on. There is too much to go on about when it's comes to this but my point is THAT YOUR TOTALLY OUT OF ****ING LINE *****. GET THE **** TO THE BACK WHERE YOU BELONG. MY OPINION DOESN'T MEAN I HATE AMERICA AND IT DOESN'T MEAN I'M YOUNG, IT MEANS I KNOW MORE THEN YOU EVIDENTLY ABOUT WILDLIFE AROUND THE WORLD, AND THERE IS TOO BIG OF A VARIETY OF ANIMALS OUTSIDE OF THE U.S TO WASTE IT ON YOUR COUNTRY. THATS THE WAY I SEE THINGS AND I THINK MOST OF THE PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD CONCUR.

From another part of the world; foreign: exotic tropical plants in a greenhouse. See Synonyms at foreign.
Intriguingly unusual or different; excitingly strange: “If something can be explained simply, in a familiar way, then it is best to avoid more exotic explanations” (Chet Raymo). See Synonyms at fantastic.
Of or involving striptease: an exotic dancer.
n.
One that is exotic.
A striptease performer.
NOTE: From another part of the world. FOREIGN. So that makes each of us residents of an exotic country to each other. :D
Either that or someone here is a stripper... :p

Lets not fool ourselves here, your wildlife for the most part isn't exotic.
There may be a border between your country and mine, but in reality, concerning wildlfe, that broder really doesn't mean anything.

It's just an invisible line seperating two countries that have different and interesting aspects in nature, culture and life in general.
In reality, we're all the same.
Have a GREAT day!!! :)
Squezze 05-22-2005, 04:36 PM Gotta agree with Wizard on this one. North American wildlife dosen't qualify as exotic for me. I've been seeing brown bears and moose and rabbits and caribou all my life. I wouldn't look at a moose and say "Oooh that sure is an exotic animal", I'd look at it and say, "Jeez I hope he dosen't decide to jump in front of my car". Maybe in the southern US I could consider some of the wildife to be exotic, but when I think of exotic animals, I think of Australia and Africa and the like.
HockeyFighter 05-22-2005, 04:44 PM Agree with Wizard. Exotic to me = Africa or South America, far away places with very different animals.
I can see maybe considering Florida as having exotic animals because of the marshes and swamps in conjunction with a saltwater environment. It's kinda unique in north america.
Carlao 05-22-2005, 08:03 PM Just a few small examples of North American Wild life that is concidere4d exotic by the majority of the world.
American Condor, South Western Mountain Lion, Gila Monster, Missippi Gator, Alligator Turtle, snakes "there are tousands of species in the US" (cause there are tons of them in Canada), American Bald Eagle, Manati, California Sea Lion, Dall's Porpoise, Killer Whale, Dolphin, Porcupine, Jaguar, Florida Panther, Florida Panther "One of my favorites", and the countless wild life in the Hawaii and US territories. To which I will include " Have you ever been to a bay at night where the water actually glows like "Chem Lights". Well that is part of the natural effect of the marsh trees and natural "exotic fishes that are unique to just a few parts of the US.
Now that is a small list of the top of my head f a few animals that I know are native to the US and I know that there are a few that might be also common to Canada. But that is not the point of my argument. My point is that not only Wizard started to talk about been an ignorant, fanatic, and over sensacionalised american and then he moved on to that we suck 'cause we have no "Exotic" wild life.
All I want to show is that there is something to gain by traveling anywhere in the world and that for ME, after vast travels and cultural involment the US is for me and would not change that.
Prime example of this kind of behavior is when I finally convinced a friend of mine to go to Haiti. He *****ed the whole time 'cause he does not like dark skinned women and he thought that the whole place is a slum. Well to his surprise most of the north east seccion of Haiti is predominatly white and has some of the most beautifull beaches and some of the best scuba diving I've done. Is an untaped natural reef, and he has been back 3 times.
Don't let ignorance be a bliss.
I just came back to the thread to look at Elisha Cuthbert again.....

Out of the species you mentioned, only some I consider to be exotic, I have seen Killer wales since childhood when I fished, Bald eagles on a weekly basis, regardless, even if I considered all of the species you mentioned exotic, that's still absolutely **** all compared to what other contintents have to offer. You mentioned you were " Not North american" Perhaps that's why you considered Bald eagles and Killerwales, exotic, maybe they are, but not to me. I also have a 21 year old turtle in a pond in my front yard. I love North american wildlife, but I don't travel to see it, It's in my back yard, and near my friends and relatives.
Have you not walked in any jungles?

This is pure rhetoric. My intentions were not to attack america, a few people suggested I was ignorant or immature because I wasn't interested in your perfect country, that to me is insulting and only fuels my distaste for people from your country. I started this thread to talk about the world, and places people have been, and it was almost turned into an "America is the best thread".

How lucky you are to see Bald Eagles on a weekly basis. I've seen one only once outside of captivity. I'd consider seeing one exotic simply because it isn't a weekly occurance for me.
When you make a statement with the words "your perfect country" and "only fuels my distaste for people from your country" it's hard to believe that you aren't attacking us verbally. Your posts have been full of sarcasm. It's a good thing that I, for one, don't judge your country based on some of the Canadians that I have met online, or in person.
And in reality, we aren't perfect, we know that. But we do have pride in our country despite it's shortcomings. We also take pride in what our country has to offer.
Ever seen a Blue Jay? or a Cardinal? Talk about vibrant birds. Just don't get too close to a Blue Jay nest. He'll take on any MMA fighter and win. ;)
Our two countries do share a lot as far as wildlife goes since we are on the same continent. But there are also a lot of differences at the same time. I've said it before and I'll say it again. If you don't want to visit our country, no problem. One less person actually on our land complaining in one way or another about how "awful" it is here.
I'm really beginning to despise people who hate my country.
joeboxer 05-23-2005, 04:23 AM I've traveled my far share, I've seen alot of places none of them any different but none of them the same. In Kansas i met a cow named bess, and it texas a cowgirl names bessie. I didn't like either very much. I once was in an Airport in Germany for 2 hours. It is definitly my favorite country based on my experience.
I don't live in a trailer, yet, but I'd like to someday. The only people I thought travelled less than me were Gypsies, but I guess that's changed now that they don't have a President anymore, or do they? Could some one help me out on this?
Carlao 05-23-2005, 09:11 AM O, I can't say I have any interest in the U.S except for florida. I could care less about america's glorified history no offence.
The quote that staerted it all. Now all I replyed to it was that I did not think America had a glorified history and that for ME it was the place to be. However you have resumed to slandering and cursing once again, and I can only assume that by your lack of education and class. You obviously do not have the mental maturity to have an educated and adult debate. Which is was not the intention of this thread, for which I appologize of high jacking the hell out of it.
You have no idea how fortunate you are that you get to see some of the rarest and valuable wildlife that American has to offer in such a regular frequency. Most of zoologist can only dream of it. But it seem that you are a typical Jeff Corwin.
Now I have to: Wizard I can only guess about how imature and childish you are, since the best you can come up with is "**** YOU". Well you little piece of ****. I've ran into people like yopu before, your feed off of other things people say and put spin on in, you should work for CNN.
I never said anything that would suggest hating america in my eyes, I said things that suggest being frusterated or annoyed, your history IS glorified, and it IS very well a topic that didn't need to be brought into this thread. People like you will just never understand because your so damn PROUD of america. YES it's a great country, only americans are the ones that are really caring, and when you go off on it someone from ANYWHERE else is gonna think "wait a minute", it's not THAT great. You need to understand this or else your one of the "dumb americans" among the great ones.
Your squirming around like a worm covered in salt, you got burned on the wildlife thing, now you carefully wrote a bunch of paragraghs to cover it up and make me look anti-american. Anybody with a sense of integrity can tell what I was trying to say with out taking the easy way.
*In yoda's voice*
Veeeeeery pathetic you are........wasted time I have.
And on top of all the rhetoric and spin you just wrote, the worst one is about me not appreciating being able to see Killer wales and bald eagles. You talk about my maturity, but you made a very immature and valacious assumption. It's ok it happens, but I never wrote anything to suggest I didn't respect or appreciate ANY wildlife. You see, this is about integrity, the only thing I find myself lecturing people on with ground to stand on. Out of EVERYTHING I wrote, I only said things to suggest that I loved all wildlife, and that I appreciate it and travel for it. Any fool could see that by reading my posts, I'm passionate about it. And you are gonna sit here like the ****ing weasel you are, and say that I don't appreciate what I've grown to love. You pretty much just made that bull**** up. Just like you made the rest of it up. AND your a hypocrite for insulting me, and then saying I'm immature for insulting you. Your a weasel and you should be ashamed of yourself for being so pathetic when you lose a debate.
Now I will end this internet war, I will not SAY I'm gonna end it and come back like you, because I really DO have a sense of maturity, Anybody with integrity will decipher your ****.

Carlao 05-23-2005, 05:16 PM ADCC 2005 - 6th Submission Wrestling World Championships
The PYRAMID, Long Beach State Campus, Long Beach, California
Saturday and Sunday, May 28th and 29th, 2005
'The 6th Submission Westling World Championships is next weekend, and the event lineup is really solidifying.' states ADCC spokesperson Miguel Iturrate. 'The lineup will change until the event - there will be changes. Yesterday, we confirmed with Eddie Bravo that he is injured and will be unable to compete. This is a loss, as Eddie's return was a HIGHLY anticipated ADCC 2005 event. We wish Eddie well, and of course we wish him a strong recovery, and We hope to see Eddie in 2007. However the ADCC 2005 is still shaping up to be the best lineup we have ever had at the Submission Wrestling World Championships. Several changes and new competitors have been confirmed, and we know that old champions will repeat and new champions will be crowned, as the ADCC 2005 will certainly have the attention of the whole grappling world next weekend. We will see who the world is talking about on the 30th of May ' concludes the spokesman.

Wizard 05-23-2005, 05:57 PM Ever seen a Blue Jay? or a Cardinal? Talk about vibrant birds. Just don't get too close to a Blue Jay nest. He'll take on any MMA fighter and win. ;)
It's amazing how relentless some of the smaller birds can be when pretecting their nests, I've seen small birds attack bald eagles before, they get in real close so the eagle can't see them. One time an eagle dove down and swooped by a friends balcony trying to shake them off, It kind of took me by surprise.
We were all drinking all the sudden this big eagle flew right by or heads.
I go camping and fishing alot, I see hawks all the ****in time, I always see like 4 or 5 smaller birds ganging up on them....
Wizard 05-23-2005, 06:39 PM I go camping and fishing alot, I see hawks all the ****in time, I always see like 4 or 5 smaller birds ganging up on them....
I had to shoot a hawk one time, it was picking off our baby chicks one by one. I blew it away with a 12 gauge goose gun. It flew from one tree to another over top of me and I fired 3 shots simultaniously and one hit it's wing, then he parked himself in a tree when I blew him in half. Not a very nice story but I'd rather get the benefits of have free chicken and eggs then let the poor hawk live. It was a hard choice.
That's illegal now days, but I can see your point, I've shot a few coyotes for chasing my animals....
nance 05-23-2005, 07:15 PM how do you ****s turn a thread about travel into a fight?

I want to go, but I'm not sure what my schedule is going to be like. It all depends on who is here to watch my son. He's 15 years old and we can't leave him here alone for too long...dammit.
I will see what I can do...too bad you guys won't have any free time outside of the fighting. I'm trying not to spend too much since I'm taking a vacation next month. :)
Carlao 05-23-2005, 07:57 PM MCM- I will be there from Wensday on. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will be my busy days.
The event is unique and perhaps the most prestigious of it's kind. It only happens once every 2 years and this guys are the best of the best. Hopefully you can make it.
I thought Tito was competing?
Squezze 05-24-2005, 11:30 AM that's weird. i just made a rabbit hit post in the other wildlife thread.
Yeah, that is weird. They were posted at the same minute too. Odd.
