View Full Version : Who are the top fighters that UFC doesn't have? -Nova- 02-13-2010, 05:52 PM I really think UFC is the grandaddy of mma. The only notable guys I think they don't have is Fedor, and guys below 155. Please correct me if Im wrong Nick Fury 02-13-2010, 05:59 PM I think Mousasi is one guy that would definitely stir up the 205 pound division in the UFC. kaps 02-13-2010, 06:23 PM Fedor, Henderson, Musasi, Nick Diaz, Sheilds, Melendez, Overeem, and Barnett just to name a few... Savino 02-13-2010, 06:23 PM I think Mousasi is one guy that would definitely stir up the 205 pound division in the UFC. He just split with M-1 so wouldn't be suprised to see him with the UFc in next couple of month. Junito-Rulez 02-13-2010, 08:31 PM Olaf Alfonso. Soda Popinski 02-13-2010, 09:44 PM Mousasi would be top 10 at LHW in the UFC as well. Barnett and Overeem wouldn't be able to fight stateside because of teh roidz. Well.... Barnett already f*cked that up and Overeem would piss hot the first chance he got. That's why he's been fighting in Japan with the Strikeforce title for the last 20 years FFS. Also, he folds when he gets hit. One solid shot to the face and he's 100% defensive until the ref stops it or the round ends. He'd be a top 10 HW until his first fight. Kakutogi-Gumi 02-13-2010, 10:15 PM Olaf Alfonso. Olaf Saves! M Deezy 02-14-2010, 12:01 AM Fedor, Henderson, Musasi, Nick Diaz, Sheilds, Melendez, Overeem, and Barnett just to name a few... yup ^^^ other than barnett i agree with that list Bloody$Nate$ 02-14-2010, 02:01 AM Eddie Alavarez. Freakin beast man. kaps 02-14-2010, 02:06 AM Eddie Alavarez. Freakin beast man. Jorge Masvidal too.... Nodogoshi 02-14-2010, 02:46 AM Muhammad Lawal M Deezy 02-14-2010, 05:03 AM Muhammad Lawal I really wanna see him and Rampage fight lol murmagic 02-14-2010, 09:32 AM I would Love to see Fedor and nick diaz come over to ufc Nodogoshi 02-14-2010, 09:32 AM I really wanna see him and Rampage fight lol I'd put my money on Mo Lawal. Rampage is past his prime and Lawal is 10x the wrestler Rampage is. Junito-Rulez 02-14-2010, 09:57 AM I'd put my money on Mo Lawal. Rampage is past his prime and Lawal is 10x the wrestler Rampage is. Yes but i don't like Lawal's low guard, if Rampage connects he's in trouble. Lawal has talent but not enough boxing/striking experience to try that kind of **** against such complete opponents. If Lawal does what he's supposed to do i think he could pull off an upset, he's a bigger better version of Rashad. Lawal has talent but not enough boxing/striking experience to try that kind of **** against such complete opponents. If Lawal does what he's supposed to do i think he could pull off an upset, he's a bigger better version of Rashad. He's made it work so far, going 6-0 with 5 kayos (all due to punches). He's been blowing out guys with far more experienced as well. One of the amazing things is that he's actually one of the absolute best wrestlers in MMA (4x senior National freestyle Champ, placed 7th at worlds), and yet he's never even had to rely on it. In his last fight, he made a guy with 26 wins in 30 fights in Whitehead look like an amateur. Lawal really hasn't even been pushed in his fights, and he's been fighting guys who should, on paper, be solid gate keepers at least. Hell, he debut against a 54-11 Travis Wiuff who was coming off a first round KO over Fujita and riding on a 9 fight win streak, and he absolutely blew him out of the water standing. Honestly, although I know they won't be fighting any time soon due to the promotional issues, I wouldn't even really consider Lawal beating Rampage an upset (although the odds-makers would likely make Page the favorite). Oh and I forgot to say, Rampage is also a nutcase so his mental condition is always a considerable factor. He's also not on Lawal's level in terms of athletic caliber (nor is damn near anybody in the sport of MMA). StillUnknown 02-14-2010, 01:23 PM basically all the names already mentioned plus Aoki & Jacare F l i c k e r 02-14-2010, 08:23 PM The only TOP fighters that UFC doesn't have is... 1. Fedor 2. Shinya 3. Mousasi 4. Jacare 5. Shields Thats it... (dis)honorable mention, Nick Diaz. Honorbale mention, King Mo (would like to see him do more first though.) jimmy webb 02-14-2010, 09:26 PM Shinya Aoki Aperion 02-18-2010, 11:16 AM No one mentions Scott Smith? I'd like to see him do another run in the UFC, he had one of the best fights of all time there, and his KO of Cung Le was fantastic. kaps 02-18-2010, 11:20 AM No one mentions Scott Smith? I'd like to see him do another run in the UFC, he had one of the best fights of all time there, and his KO of Cung Le was fantastic. Smith really has no chance at a title run or anything near. If he came back he'd probably be more like Lytle and just be put in the mix with other strikers for entertainment purposes... Young Herschel 02-18-2010, 04:09 PM Smith really has no chance at a title run or anything near. If he came back he'd probably be more like Lytle and just be put in the mix with other strikers for entertainment purposes... Sheilds could be testing the waters with Dana White who has to know how thin his middleweight division is and has been for years. Even as a welterweight Sheilds would be a welcomed addition because St. Pierre has cleaned house over all the top contenders which is why he is facing Hardy which many fans think is a mismatch (not me but most people). I wouldn't be surprised if Sheilds becomes the biggest target out there for Dana White should he look really good against Hendo (win or lose). Most say it won't happen but unless you're Randy Couture or Bernard Hopkins Father Time catches up to you sooner than you'd expect in most cases. Mark my words something will come from his work in the next season of TUF. |
