Ricardo Mayorga says he will be in the ring before the fight with both Tito and Winky! He is gonna promote his next fight with Castillejo at Madison Square Garden July 23, 2005. LOL I hope a fight breaks out! He also said that there is no problems with the rape appeals, and his FOUR attorneys say it is not a problem for him. Sweet, I can't wait for the return of Mayo! Guess I'm gonna pay the $50 for Tito-Winky afterall, this is an added bonus!

No..though its an added bonus to see my favorite fighter after a long time. Besides my dad will be there, and I want him to get a pic with Mayo.

You are the same that said that you wouldn't pay for Morales-Pac Right? I doubt that you really are a boxing fan...or you are just broke...

SLIP ... once AGAIN, the whining begins about the cost of a potentially great fight. Who's the novice here?

I don't blame the guy for *****ing about the $50 myself....I don't like having to pay it either, but until boxing is more popular in the US, we can expect these PPV "Events" to increase as time goes by. When (if) it's more popular again, and advertising during a fight is easier to sell, then we should be seeing fights on ABC (or another of the "Big 3") again for free, during primetime TV.

not in our lifetime homey...

think about the #'s, Morales-Pacman does 350K in PPV sales, that 350K x $50, which = $17,500,000, and the fighters each got around 2 mil, so that leaves THIRTEEN MILLION PLUS for the promoters and cable company to divvy between themselves

and we think we'll see boxing on the networks??? NO FREAKIN WAY

believe me, I wish I were wrong, but PPV is here to stay

that is definitely an added bonus, no question about it....

do you think Larry will hand Mayo a scotch to go along with his Marlboro?

I love El Matador, at his rematch w/ Forrest, Ricardo's head trainer threw me his bandana with the Nicaraguan flag, "Matador" on one side and "Mayorga" on the other, BY FAR the coolest souvenier I've ever gotten at a sporting event

Interesting, really. If it were on prime time, we'd probably have four time the viewers, at least.

The networks could place two 30 second spots every second round. Plus a few during the pre-fight, so they could squeeze-in at least 18 or 20 commercials (at 30 seconds). Using your approach, that would be about $650,000 per commercial, if they needed to reach $13M.

Having a big-time fight on prime-time would be a "social experiment" that ABC might try, but can they get those spots at those prices? I don't know.

No, it's just that you are a Tito fanboi, probably because you are Puero Rican. Thus you see the fight as something much bigger than what I think it is, because you know how crazy PR's go for tito from firsthand experience. say I was indian or something when joe hipp came about in the hw division in the states, of course I'd support him. so I can't really blame you. although I do think you're a douche for all the tito nughugging.

what I meant by it was that novice fans would find it boring. not that the fight was for novice fans.

First off, I never said I wouldn't pay for Tito/Wright. Only that I wouldn't pay 50. Tito is a world class fighter, but I just don't think he deserves all the hype everyone gives him. Firstly he's a one-dimensional puncher who any elite boxer has no problems with. Secondly the only reason he's hyped is because of his nationality. If Tito was a black guy from new york he'd have much less recognition.

since you asked, dream bouts I'd pay for that I could guarantee would be interesting fights:

#1 -Estrada vs Ouma (estrada's determination and tempo up against ouma's sheer punch output would be a great, great fight.)i'd pay 50 for this bout.
#2 -Holmes vs Foreman-I'd pay 50 for this bout.
#3 -Tyson vs V.Klitschko-I'd pay 50

Hype? A guy with 42-1 35KO's? Fought the best and lost to the best...that's not hype..

See is all bout taste, I would pay **** for any of those 3 fights you listed..

at least you know more than one? why you gotta act like a little ***** and say that? you act'n like a lil ***** right now. i guess you thought I was insulting you by saying eng wasnt your first language.

and even if I did only know one language and that language english, it really means nothing opposed to a mexican /pr only knowing how to speak their language and not english, because english is the mainstream language of the world, and it's much more important for a foreigner who's primary language is spanish to learn english, than an american who's primary language is english to learn spanish...get my drift?

first of all...a record doesn't mean everything..its understandable that you think this, knowing how gimped pr boxing is...look at hattons record, undefeated etc, yet the guys he faced were nothing in terms of opposition other fighters from the US with that number of fights have faced.

Comparing Hatton's record to Trinidad's......is some stupid ****. Tito has knocked out better fighters than Hatton ever will. Plain and simple. Im the first one to talk **** about Tito.......but overrated?

**** no. He is easily one of the best fighters in the sport.

yes, the thread not only makes it clear that you are a *****-made punk, but also an impatient disgrace to betting, and the sport itself. not only that, but you made the thread 15 min after the bout ended, you deserve to be curbstomped.

RUN .... leave poor little SLIP alone will ya'? He's just a kid claiming to be a "student of the sport". He deserves our respect. Haven't you seen his neato keen pictures? What more proof do you need that he's a real boxing fan. Why bother to actually string together a defensible comment about boxing when you can string together a few nice jpegs? Really.
