This might sound stupid but I was wondering if anyone knows how to make a great steak?
I usually buy rib eye and make then on the grill.
I had a friend that worked at Outback so he used to hook it up with the seasoning.
Man I love steak I can eat like 2 pounds of steak.
Anyone have a special way or a secret seasoning?

Take a porterhouse or new york strip, or two.

fill a bowl with lemon juice and zesty italian dressing. Let the meat soak for a while, preferably three hours. Depending on how thick the cuts are, put them on the grill for a short period of time. Considering I like meat rare.

**** will melt in your mouth. You can also add worchestershire sauce to the meat to give it a hint of flavor if you fancy.

Welcome to the steak eaters club BB. I love animal flesh.

I love 'em too. On one of thoses ***gy "your favorite animal" threads one time, everybody was posting crap like "gazelles, 'cause they're so graceful" or "the lion, because he is so regal!"
I said, "Cows, because they're delicious."

I broil steaks using a seasoning available here called "soul seasoning"*, garlic powder, course ground pepper and just a little dash of salt. I top with A-1 sauce. Just don't overcook them.....that is akin to blasphemy.

*send a self-addressed envelope big enough and I'll mail you a bottle of it.

yeah I know exactly what you are saying. My sister does not know a god damn thing about barbecueing. I go to her house when she throws parties...and cook for her. Last time.....I was really drunk and hungry as hell. She bought like 10 or 20 quarter inch thick sirloin strips..and I made them come out nice.
LMFAO. She said to cook them really well....because she is afraid of diseases and such, I could really care less. 1/4 inch thick steaks belong on the grill for about 2 minutes tops.

I am not the least bit afraid of food-borne illnesses...and have only been sick one time from eating raw oysters. I still eat them raw with hot sauce on them.

Those sirloins were trash IMO......I shell out for filet mignon any day of the week.

Soak them in barbecue sauce...then wrap them in alluminum foil.

set the fire on low...and let them cook all day long depending on how tender you like them. I like them to fall right off the bone. It is alot easier than you think. You have keep the fire under control...or else they will turn out like trash man.

.....That's ****in funny because I eat my meat rare as hell and I never ever get sick from anything. People around me get the flue and I never get it, common cold(never get it), I have thrown up from being sick maybe 3 times in my entire life. I have a cast iron stomach and catch nothing. I also have an immunity to fire ants. They bit the **** out of me when I first moved here and now they don't even register a red mark on me anymore. I had an attack of about 20 in my landscapeing the other day and I have nothing to show for it.

I like to make my own barbecue sauce as well. Try this out.

Mix:

Ketchup
Mustard
Worchestershire sauce
salt
horseradish (I use alot....because I like spicy food)
vinegar
ground cumin

Makes pretty good sauce if you ask me. You can adjust the levels how you please. Whatever you do.....dont overadd mustard. That is a vital piece of the puzzle....except you can ruin the whole taste by adding too little...or too much.

Lmfao. You know it.

German Style Potatoes are good with those ribs you make if you do. Skin and slice red potatoes into semi-thin slices. Slice an onion as well. Fill a pan with canola oil and get the grease really hot. put the sliced potatoes in there and let them deep fry for a bit. Sprinkle salt and pepper on top of them. Dont add the onions too early....cuz they will burn. add the onions at a later time...let the stuff fry together untill you approve of their crispiness.

put ketchup on top of them or however you like to eat them. I like that dish very much, in combination with salad and those forementioned ribs.

Dude Im like a female when it comes to the kitchen. My old lady never does a damn thing in that area....and she is always at work, or out with her friends at the club. I installed a hanging rack underneath my cupboard to hang glasses from, so when I do the dishes.....I just let the glasses hang dry. I had to buy a whole new set....that were compatible with the rack...and threw the old ones away. Brand new set of Kissing Crane chef's knives and a 30lb cutting board made out of solid maplewood. Kohler sinks, marble top counters and the works. I have spent thousands of dollars maintenancing the kitchen, and am ultimately pleased with the results.

I spent so much time looking at the ones they use at the bar....and said to myself. "I need one of those really bad". The rack that is.

Oh **** this is my kind've thread. Anyone who likes cajun food should try out this dish. We call it Houston shrimp creole and it kicks ass. Usually takes under an hour to prepare.

Grill some jumbo or medium-sized shrimp and add them to a mixture that consists of rice, Worcerstershire sauce, tomato sauce, Tabasco, green peppers, and onions. Make sure you saute the peppers and onions and then let them simmer for about 30 minutes before you add the seasonings and sauce or else it won't be the same. After I add all of the ingredients I usually let everything, shrimp included, simmer for about 5 or 10 minutes for maximum flavor before I eat it. Cook the rice seperately. This recipe was extremely popular with the locals where I lived at in Lafayette, La.

the best steaks are porterhouse. yuo have to get the butcher to cut it fresh though. make that **** like 1-2 inches thick. i really don't like to muck **** on my porters though. i like the way the meat tastes. it ruins it if you put too much **** on em. what do is mix the following in a bowl then rub just a little bit over the entire steak. not too much cause it takes away from a good steak.

salt
pepper
comino
onion salt
garlic salt
cayenne pepper
crushed red pepper
and just a tiny bit of brown sugar

now if i wanna do some sirloins or rib eyes i will marinate them. those are good marinating steaks. never marinate a porterhouse. it ruins them. thats just my opinion.

My favorite thing to do is get a tri-tip roast, and cover it with garlic powder and this stuff called "Season All" (like Lawrey's season salt, but not as salty) and grill it until it has about a silver dollars size pinkness in the middle (medium to medium well) and then slice it real thin. Man, that **** is the bomb.
Way better than those expensive marinades you get at the store. I also hooked up with the stuff called "Pappy's" that is like Season All, but has garlic in it and that **** is great too. Give either one of these spices a shot if you get a chance. You wont be sorry!!!

If you fry or bake a steak, you should be forced to watch All of John Ruiz' fights "Clockwork Orange" style

I marinate mine in Garlic cloves, Worshtershire and fresh pepper. Let if soak in for about 1 hour. Don't freeze steaks. Make sure you buy the fresh stuff and cook it same day.

I prefer Sirloin or a good Rib eye on the BBQ. I use charcoal grill with wood chips. Cook that sucker untill its a little pink in the middle. I'm getting a chub just thinking about it. Looks like i'm having steak tonight.

Avoid T-Bone and Londonbroil on the bbq
