brently1979 02-07-2010, 04:32 AM Okay gang the 2010 session is getting closer.
What teams do you feel will be dangerous this year?
What teams will slip this year?
How well do you think your team will go this year?
I'm actually looking forward to the session this year.
Thoughts?
Dan... 02-07-2010, 05:58 PM Should be a great season.
The usuals will be right up there I think. Melbourne, Parramatte, the Bulldogs and Manly will all have good years I think.
As far as my team is concerned, the Broncos, I think we will really struggle. Very inexperienced forward pack and Hodges being out for 6 months combined with the loss of Hunt and things are not looking great for us. We might just make the 8 I think.
brently1979 02-07-2010, 06:07 PM The all stars game should be interesting as well. You going Dan?
Tuqir's return will be interesting as well.
I'm going for the Titans again. (No suprise there!)
Mason to the Cowboys.
Dan... 02-07-2010, 07:18 PM The all stars game should be interesting as well. You going Dan?

Nah mate I gotta go to a wedding on Saturday.
I know a few people who are going though. Should be a good game.

Gotta love a good old Wedding. Should be interesting. I think it's a good idea by the NRL to help get the season started.
brently1979 02-07-2010, 09:12 PM I'm going for the Titans again. (No suprise there!)
Mason to the Cowboys.
Titans are always hard to beat at home.
The Cowboys can have Mason. But the prick could have a good season. You never know.

Yeah. They got him cut price didn't they? Could end up being a great buy.
Philfy 02-08-2010, 02:00 AM I get the feeling the QLD teams are going to suffer this year. I especially think the Broncos, who have looked ****e without Bennett, will not be up to standard. I expect Parramatta to again do well.

I wouldn't say we looked ****e. We looked ok when we spanked the Dragons in the semis last season and made the prelims before losing to the eventual winners.
I agree with you that we will struggle this season though.

By their standards, the Broncos has a pretty bad year in 2009. I guess it just shows the quality of the team for them to still make the top 8.
Let's take a look at some Broncos 2009 highlights:
*Losing 0-56 against the Raiders in round 21, their worst loss ever.
*Losing 4-48 against Storm in round 13, their equal 4th worst loss ever.
*Losing 12-46 against the Sharks in round 15, their 9th worst loss ever.
*Losing 12-44 against the Bunnies in round 19, their 10th worst loss ever.
That's 40% of their wost ever losses happening in season 2009. Admit it Dan, the Broncos were ****e last year...:)
Not to mention losing 10-40 against Storm in a preliminary final, their worst final loss ever.

I think in 2008 when they lost in the semi final against melbourne in the last few seconds of the game when they dropped the ball ,really must have had an impact on them the following year.
Titans are always hard to beat at home.

Now the Titans need to work on their away games. Plus they got Greg Bird this season as well.

LOL, so what, its called a form slump. We had ordinary games, but we had games where we looked pretty good also. You could do what you just did with most teams. All you did was highlight the **** games. How about when we held the Dragons, who were runaway comp leaders and favourites for the Premiership, scoreless at their home ground?
We made the prelim finals and lost to the Premiers. That is as good or better than what we achieved the majority of years we had Bennett. Also, considering the side we had, I think we did better than if we still had him.
Anyone who thinks a team that made the prelim final were ****e knows nothing about rugby league or the NRL.

That makes no sense.
I don't know what everyone expects of the Broncos. We did well to make the preliminary final with that list.

I agree Dan, the Broncos are always a hard to beat team I find. They won the Premiership in 06 which isn't that long ago when you really think about it and have been serious contenders every other year since.
If I was Broncos fan I would be pretty happy with them to be honest.

Yeah, we gotta play under the cap just like everyone else. Also, we don't have the monopoly over QLD talent like we used to. Just because we are the most decorated, commercially successful and well-supported team in the league, doesn't mean we automatically should be out-performing everyone every year.
We have been a very successful franchise over 2 decades. The best over that period. I guess it is a tribute to how good we are that we can make the prelims and people will say we were ****.

I think that sum it up pretty well.
Is this Darren's last session?
Dan... 02-08-2010, 07:41 PM I think that sum it up pretty well.
Is this Darren's last session?
To be honest I hope it is Darren's last season but I doubt it will be. It would be good to see him go out somewhere near the top of his game, but I get the sense that he will look to play at least one more after this one and maybe even another two.

I think he's starting to slip a bit now as well. Just a few things I noticed in his game towards the end of last session made me wonder how much longer he was going to go on for.

To be fair he's been on the slip for 2 or 3 years now. The problem is his pace has gone now and that was what made him so deadly at the line. Without that a lot of his threat has been taken away. Still a class player though.
boxing_great 02-08-2010, 10:32 PM That makes no sense.

I'm not saying they didn't go good last year. They did.
I'm just saying that last minute loss in 2008 would have broken their backs.

It hurt at the time, a lot, but I don't think it made a material difference to how we went in 09 to be honest.
brently1979 02-09-2010, 04:22 PM another thing I have to say about the Bronco is that I think Peter Wallace is a bit of a weakness. I don't really rate him a halfback at all.
I was watching a game from 08 on fox last night and his game bugged me.
I just think with a better half you guys would be much better off

I have never rated Wallace and I agree that he hurts us badly. He had a good month or so when he first came and since then people believe he can do no wrong. That is a bit of a problem up here, the press and fans just worship the players too much - they can't see when they are just plain bad. Carlaw was another example of that.
Tim Smith is supposed to be training the house down and he might be starting for us in our trial match on Saturday night. We also have a very promising young half back named Ben Hunt who played very well for the 20s.

I'm glade you could see that as well. I will be keeping an eye on him, I don't think he is NSW Origin material as well.

I always loved it when you guys picked him. Made it a great deal easier for us.
woftam 02-10-2010, 01:13 AM So what's the general consensus on the Storm this season guys?
Can we do it again, or are we to begin a downward spiral?
I think Dallas Johnson will leave a big hole.
Broncos should have thrown the kitchen sink at either Prince, Thurston or Cronk. All are way better than Wallace.

im not sur eif storm will lose for a long time, cause they are so well coached that no matter wat players they lose they will always b so hard to beat and will b contenders
liek all great teams before them, the downward spiral wont start until some1 figures them out and dominates them and all others follow suit

At the time we didn't really have a kitchen sink to throw mate.
The Storm will be very tough again as normal. They will be right up there come the business end of the season.

Yeah I agree. I would bet anything they would make the 8 eight at least.
brently1979 02-23-2010, 05:26 PM Not long to go now. Seems like an age since last season.
Dan... 02-23-2010, 08:05 PM LOL, it does hey?
I swear the off-season gets longer every year.

It does dude.
Especially if you know your team could have done better than they actually did.

You catch the Charity Shield the other night Brently?
Not a bad game. Still, I don't think Souths are going to do too much this year.

Yeah I did actually. I agree with you about Souths, the half back isn't that great imo.
On paper they have a pretty decent team, but something never comes together from them.
Souths don't really play as a team like a lot of other clubs do.

Yeah, just too many liabilities I think.
I also don't think Lang was the ideal choice of coach.

what about the big new recruits, david taylor and the pommy dude, dont u think they will make a difference up front?

Yeah I think they will make a difference up front, but I don't trust the back line at all.
Plus Roy isn't that great a captain imo.
Dan... 03-01-2010, 05:26 PM what about the big new recruits, david taylor and the pommy dude, dont u think they will make a difference up front?
Yeah Taylor and Burgess will definately make a difference, I still think there are just too many liabilities there. The half-back just isn't up to it, Sutton is far too inconsistent, as a team they do not defend well, and I don't think they have enough fire power in the backs.
They will probably be in that pack contesting 7th and 8th, but I'd be surprised if they made the finals to be honest.
I think the Roosters will be the surprise this season. I wouldn't be surprised to see them do very well. Some good off-season signings and they have signed one of the best coaches going round.

couldn't agree more with you. One match he is good, the next very average. That is part of Souths problem.
brently1979 03-11-2010, 08:13 AM anyone catch the footy show tonight?

I do not watch that garbage.
NRL on Fox is the only league show that is really worth watching IMO.
Man I am so pumped for this weekend. Going to the game tomorrow night then the triple header on Saturday. Thank god the ****ing off-season is over!

Great to see AC/DC perform on the show.
Greatwhitehope 03-11-2010, 11:40 PM The footy show was actually pretty funny on Thursday night, I had a few good chuckles at it.

Yeah I also like the Monday night studio & grounds team as well. I like listening to the guys in the studio, they are still on the ball and Gordy & Wizz are good for a laugh as well.
brently1979 03-12-2010, 07:09 AM Broncos looked sharp.
Parra looked sluggish.
Dan... 03-14-2010, 06:47 PM Broncos looked sharp.

I don't know about sharp. I think it will be an exciting but highly erratic year for the Broncos this season.
I was most impressed with the Roosters this weekend. I think they will do well this season and I tipped them on the weekend but I didn't expect them to win by so much.
brently1979 03-14-2010, 09:59 PM Interesting first round too early to tell how the season will play out. by round 5 we will have a better idea I think.

Even then. At round 5 last season I didn't think Melbourne were a chance to win the comp.
Its just so close these days I don't even bother really.

It was a very good game. i just hate how Manly think they can do that **** and get away with it.
Good round one. Bring on Round 2.
Finally the season has begun.
Dan... 03-17-2010, 08:30 PM Manly's season couldn't really have gotten off to a worse start. Run down by the Tiges last week after looking like having it wrapped up half way into the second half and now Stewart is out for several months.

Stewart, on the other hand, is fundamental to the success of Manly's attack. A massive loss.

Channel 9 shouldn't have sacked him in my opinion. The Footy Show and The Sunday Roast isn't as good without him.
And the Bulldogs might release Ben Hannant early from his contract at the end of the year, but only to the Titans or Broncos.

jameshepenstall 03-19-2010, 06:14 PM This year like the last could have any teams pushing the top 8. My pre season picks are, Storm, Eels, Titans, Warriors, Broncos, Dragons, Sea Eagles and the Rabbitohs. They can change soon though haha.
The warriors are my team and i hope they make it this year and play to potential.

Yeah mate, beyond woeful. Horrible effort levels to. I don't know how Tupou can look at himself in the mirror. Getting paid close to $300,000 a year to do absolutely nothing at the moment. Gallen isn't much better right now to be honest and **** knows what he is on.

I watched him play for Easts Tigers in the Queensland Cup on the weekend and he tore the Central Comets apart.
Considering where the Sharks are at right now securing a player as talented as Tim Smith can only help.
jameshepenstall 04-02-2010, 10:28 PM What do you guys make of the Dragons performance against the Storm? I was a little shocked that Melbourne handled them so easily, i had them potential minor premiers but not now after that one. Melbourne seem to have one of those systems in place that breed solid and error less footy. It's like in rugby, the Crusaders have the same air of year after year being the most consistent team there is, if the other team wants to win they have to have a near perfect game.

Good game tonight, Broncos vs Titans.
Titans were unlucky last night.

Same.
Always root for the Sharks when they aren't playing the Broncos. Poor bastards try their guts out, they never catch a break either. They even nearly managed to lose that match against Parra despite being the better side by a long, long way.
Dan... 05-23-2010, 07:10 PM Titans were unlucky last night.
LOL.
Just saw this post. If by "unlucky" you mean comprehensively outplayed then yeah, completely agree.
Your boys ever gonna win an away game against us mate?
I was actually happy to the see them win.
yeah me too and parra losing is always good
im developing a bit of a soft spot for the under siege sharkies, maybe its an underdog thing, but i hope they win a few more this year.
just not against manly
LOL.

The were a couple of chanches that the Titans should have scored. Like when Joseph Tomane had the ball and was surely going to score in the right corner, but luckily for the Broncos when the Broncos player tackled him the ball got knocked out of his hands.

Sharks are Parramatta's bogey team for sure.

Sure mate, you should have scored an extra try or two, but the gulf between the sides was massive. Even your coach said he couldn't believe how much better we were than your boys.
It was one of the most dominating performances we have had for a while. It was like watching men against boys.

I don't know if beating Melbourne the week before had anything to do with it.
Dan... 05-23-2010, 07:56 PM I don't know if beating Melbourne the week before had anything to do with it.
I'm sure it helped a bit.
Personally I think it was more the Coast being ordinary. The week before they beat Newcastle in a horrible game. Teams often play poorly coming off a game where they won but played terribly. We managed to pretty much completely shut Scotty Prince out of the game as well. Always helps. Plus we are just a really erratic side because we are so young.
brently1979 05-24-2010, 12:00 AM I really hope QLD kick NSW to **** on wednesday night.

Getting pretty hyped for that game. I always struggle at work in origin weeks, just too excited to think of anything else. Smith being out hurts a bit, but hopefully our boys can still bring it home.
Also, watching the Sharks on the weekend I couldn't help but laugh at Gallen not making the NSW side. Absolutely. Ridiculous.

This is very true, he is a typical player you would want in your origin team.
NSW selectors **** me, that is why I want QLD to win.
Trent Barrett, Matt Cooper, Ben Creagh, Josh Dugan, Michael Ennis, Paul Gallen, Kurt Gidley, Jarryd Hayne, Nathan Hindmarsh, Jamal Idris, Jason King, Tom Learoyd-Lahrs, Luke Lewis, Brett Morris, Luke O'Donnell, Mitchell Pearce, Beau Scott, Timana Tahu, Trent Waterhouse, Michael Weyman, Brett White
21 man origin squad for Origin II.
Goodbye Kimmorley you pathetic cun.t. Josh Perry dropped. Jamie Lyon and Anthony Watmough were omitted due to injury.
Newcomers: Josh Dugan, Paul Gallen and Trent Barrett, Beau Scott,Nathan Hindmarsh, Luke O'Donnell and Jason King.
Hopefully Josh Dugan gets a run, this kid is the real deal. Also good to see some gritt and determination back with Hindmarsh, Gallen and Odonell. Barrett has been chosen on the back of good form at the Sharks.
Will be interesting what happens at the judiciary with Hayne and lewis facing suspension. Also there are a fair few maybe's who are injured/recovering from injury.
Now if we could just drop Kurt Gidley or put back on the bench we may stand a chance.
Dan... 06-07-2010, 09:15 PM I don't think that squad can beat us to be honest. Whatmough is a massive loss for NSW.

They have actually looked better away this season than in the past. They nearly came back from well behind on the weekend to beat the Raiders.
They have lost 3 in a row now though, they need to get a win against Manly on Friday night to get back on track.

Lol, you're pretty sure on that one aren't you? I don't know about it, I think they have a fair few players who would have gone there on significantly less money than they might have been worth either earlier in their careers or at other clubs. Guys like Rogers, Bird, Harrison, Campbell. Plus you gotta consider they don't have a lot of depth. I mean, Toopi makes their side once a centre gets injured, and he would be on barely anything. The wingers wouldn't be on much either. Heaps of forwards there who wouldn't be earning great either.

Nah, the offer they made to scott prince was off the hook.

Okay, so I can't explain why don't do that well in away games considering the team that they have.

Yeah, I think the Coast will win. Manly are really short of strike right now. No Lyon, no Matai, no Stewart and now no Whatmough. Those losses take a huge amount away from Manly's attack, as showed against the Broncos at Brookvale on Sunday.

Dan... 06-08-2010, 06:49 PM Well, Titans by 10 hopefully :fingersx:
The Titans were actually really good in the second half against Canberra on Sunday. It is just their line defence that is really letting them down right now, which is odd given that has always kind of been one of their strengths.

It was a Bulldogs home game and they knew that if they played the game at Suncorp, they would've gotten a much higher crowd than at ANZ or a similar stadium in Sydney.
They did the same thing last year.

I agree with you on both to be honest.
Yeah definately. I hate watching st george play boring as ****.
The reason they are good is because they do the simple things well and repeatedly. ie: always dummy half running or one off running from inside their own half, fast rush defence, never spreading the ball inside their own half, kicking to the corners for field position and a big emphasis on fast play the ball. Similar to how the storm play.
I enjoy watching tigers play because if conditions allow they like to spread the ball inside their own half, will actually counter attack of kick returns and have genuine set pieces of the back of their own scrum.
Remember how League was toying with the idea of having the option of either kicking for goal after scoring a try or being given the option of one more tackle from 20 out, (basically the opportunity to score again) this would be good.

Of course it is, but there are some strange anomaly's in the News Limited's decision making don't you think?
The independent directors were removed because of failure to assist in the audit. The players also failed to cooperate, but it seems all of them are going to get off the hook as are their player managers. Does anyone besides News Limited believe nobody besides a few Storm directors knew what was going on? Do you believe that these player managers only do these type of deals with the Melbourne Storm & deal strictly by the book when dealing with every other club? I don't think so.
Just to let you know where I sit in this as a former Storm fan.
I have not been to a Storm game since.
If our team can't take to the field without cheating, then **** em. I will also not pay good money to go & see a virtual practice match with no points at stake. I haven't watched a single NRL game on Fox or channel 9 either. The only games of League i have watched are the State of Origin games. I am disillusioned with our team, it's players & officials who did the game over for greed, and the governing body which is just virtually leaderless.
No matter what slant the powers that be put on this, the game and the Storm franchise has taken a massive beating here in Melbourne. I'm not the lone ranger in my way of thinking either.

I can understand your stance, and you're right, the franchise has taken a beating down there, and that is entirely the fault of Waldron and co who instigated the disgraceful cheating.
Of course the player managers knew, no doubt about it. The thing is though, it takes two to tango. The player managers need insiders at the club to actively cheat to implement the type of arrangements that were in the players' contracts.
I found this to be an interesting read:

So you believe those player managers only do those deals at the Storm? What about the players? They must have known as well. And News limited pay the bills & wages so how the hell did they not tweak something was amiss in 3 years?
As for the article, how can the club move on or re sign anyone until they found out how much they had to get rid of in their cap. After all the one's who diddled the figures are no longer there. So they could conceivably not know how much they are over until after the audit.
The simple solution for the players was probably to just have a $400,000 house built on the Gold Coast for free.
Apparently that's okay ;)

Haha, nice.
No, I accept that the same managers are doing deals, just that they don't have cheating Board members at the other clubs to do illegitimate deals with.
News Limited just gave them money, they didn't know what was being done with it. It wasn't like Waldron was going, "hey guys, I need $5.5 million rather than $4.5 million for player wages next season, cool?"
I don't know what Melbourne's solution is/was, it just seems like they aren't doing all they can to help the players or the league get past it. Those idiot Board members launching legal action really gave me the ****s. You cheated, blatantly, you got caught, take your medicine and stop acting like little *****es.

Don't know if I would call it amazing, I thought both sides were pretty awful. Titans definitely deserved the win though.
The Dragons look like they are following the typical Bennett MO at the moment. Win the majority of your games in the first three quarters of the season playing fairly boring football and then fall apart at the business end.

Okay maybe not amazing but nobody backed the Titans to win with Greg Bird and Ashley Harrison out injured and more importantly the Titans stay in the top 8 with that win.
Matt Rogers 34 and Preston Campbell 33 are still playing excellent football.

Campbell particularly is having a great season.
The Muss 07-26-2010, 10:52 PM Cracker at Suncorp last night. Were you there, Dan?
Dan... 07-26-2010, 11:08 PM Yeah, devastating. Back-to-back late losses at home now. Puts a lot of pressure on us to win this weekend. Its crazy to think as good as we have looked at times this season we may well not make the 8. The Roosters were very good for the majority of the game though. I said at the start of the season they were a real dark horse to win it and I still think that.
I was there. I haven't missed a Broncos home game in almost 5 years.
Are Preston Campbell and Greg Inglis cousins?
Dan... 08-02-2010, 04:07 AM How is everyone thinking this season is going to shape up?
Its getting pretty interesting now with the top few sides looking ordinary and a few sides out of the top 4 really starting to hit form.
I said I thought the Roosters would be the surprise team at the start of this season and it is looking like that might be right.

The real dissapointment of the season is the Cowboys.
They should be doing much better with the players they have.

They have under-performed but I don't think they have that good a list. I didn't pick them to make the 8.
Greatwhitehope 08-02-2010, 10:14 PM I should've posted this in here earlier, but if you guys enjoy talking rugby league, there's a site www.cricsim.com, got a really good rugby league discussion section. The site is about a cricket simulation game but there are a lot of devote league fans.
I'm Sultan Pepper if you join/already on there. Few members from the rleague site are on there, it's a pretty relaxed atmosphere, no ****wit mods like rleague.
Great comeback by the Titans last night, keeping the Eels scoreless for the whole second half.
Dan... 08-06-2010, 04:39 PM Yeah the Titans are starting to hit form at the right end of the season. They have put together three good weeks in a row.
How good is Matt Gillett? Far and away the standout talent in the game at the moment. He was incredible for the Broncos again last night.

I haven't watched many Broncos games this season but saw the try that he scored in the first few minutes of the game last night.
Possibly no Ben Smith or Fuifui Moimoi for the Eels in the next match against the Broncos.

Greg Inglis off to the Broncos next year.
Dan... 08-11-2010, 05:59 PM Greg Inglis off to the Broncos next year.
Yeah, sounds like we didn't have to break the bank on him either, which is good. He accepted less with us than he was offered to go to the Titans.

I was hoping Preston Campbell could persuade him to go to the Titans but the Titans don't particularly need him.

I don't know, I think you guys are a bit light on in the centres and with your wingers being purely finishers I think you could have used a little more strike out wide.

Well the Titans have got Joseph Tomane, Bodene Thompson, Sam Tagataese, Clinton Toopi, Mat Rogers and Steve Michaels who can play as centers.
Dan... 08-11-2010, 10:12 PM Well the Titans have got Joseph Tomane, Bodene Thompson, Sam Tagataese, Clinton Toopi, Mat Rogers and Steve Michaels who can play as centers.
Yeah that was kind of my point, none of those guys are too great.
Michaels - pretty horrible
Tagataese - isnt a centre
Thompson - looks ok, more of a backrower, still very green
Toopi - serviceable but his best years are behind him
Tomane - dynamic but prone to some pretty serious defensive errors.
Looking at the two sides rosters for next season I would have said that the Titans were more in need of Inglis than the Broncos.
woftam 08-12-2010, 12:33 AM Yeah, sounds like we didn't have to break the bank on him either, which is good. He accepted less with us than he was offered to go to the Titans.
You didn't have to break the bank because we have to pay the difference in what he is getting today. So we have to offload him but still pay part of his wages and it will be included in our 2011 cap. It seems while they were bending us over, somebody accidentally rammed a telephone pole up our arse.
I think losing Inglis is probably best for both parties. Why we still have to pay him while playing against us is just ****in ridiculous.

Okay, none of those players are superstars but they could be in the next couple of years if the Titans stick with them.
If Inglis did join the Titans the only problem would be the salary cap and trying to keep others players at the Titans.
Anyway I believe Inglis only wanted to either stay at the Storm or go to the Broncos. He was also considering switching to the AFL.
I'm imagining now Inglis and Hodges playing in the centers for the Broncos next year.

Yeah we should have a fair side next season. I think we have the best young players in the competition as well, so hopefully it should be a good couple of years for us.
Mat Rogers to retire at the end of the season :(
sandysandara 08-16-2010, 02:58 AM Should be a great season.
The Titans only 2 points away from the Dragons.
Dan... 08-23-2010, 06:31 PM Another good win for the Coast. I only caught the last half hour, but they looked better.
This competition is amazing. If someone had told you after the Roosters put almost 50 on an in-form Parramatta side away that they would go and lose 3 games on the trot you would have laughed at them. Its incredible.
The Titans and the Tigers look like the most in-form sides to me at the moment.

It looks like the only was the Broncos will make the top 8 is if they beat the Raiders next week and the Rabbitohs lose their next game against the Dragons.
I can't believe the Titans lost to the Sharks last night considering some of the sides the Titans beat in the last few weeks.

Dan... 08-30-2010, 05:41 PM Panthers won last night, they need to beat the Sharks this week :(
Yeah, but they were very ordinary again.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if the Sharks beat Penrith and I doubt that Penrith will do anything in the finals. They are one of the weakest if not the weakest of the top 8 sides IMO.
Dallas Johnson and Brent Tate to join the Cowboys next season.
Dan... 09-01-2010, 06:22 PM Dallas Johnson and Brent Tate to join the Cowboys next season.
Yeah, the Tate signing was announced months ago, but they just secured Johnson. Johnson is a good signing. They are probably paying overs for Tate though.
In more amusing news, Parramatta have signed Carl Webb for 2 seasons.

Yes, and they are getting rid of cancers like O'Donnell, Webb and Ty Williams.
Its all about Bowen and Thurston. If those two stay fit for the whole season they will be competitive. If not, they won't be.

Yeah, they are both just rubbish full stop. Massive liabilities in defence as well. They just get beaten too often one on one.
You must like the way your mob is shaping up. You are a Tigers fan right?
Titans to beat the Warriors at home on Friday!
vanism 09-10-2010, 12:48 AM Oh hell no! I like the Titans but the Warriors will win. If Vatuvei was fit all season he would have gotten Dally M winger of the year. He completely schooled Uate!

But more importantly with the Tigers and Panthers losing it looks like the Titans will get a well deserved weeks rest.

Dan... 09-20-2010, 06:46 PM No chance, with the weeks break the Titans will beat the Roosters.
I think it will be pretty close to be honest. Its really all on the Roosters IMO. If they play at or near their best I think they will blow the Titans out. However if they struggle to put their attack together as they did in the first half against the Tigers they will really struggle and the Titans will just be too solid.
The week off can be a good thing but it can also hurt teams. Momentum is crucial at this time of the year.

It probably will be a close game but most of the crowd should be going for the Titans, and it could be Mat Rogers last game and if William Zillman pefroms like he did against the Warriors then the Titans should win.
The weeks break should help players like Luke Bailey and Greg Bird.
Titans star Preston Campbell has hinted that he may retire from Rugby League, should the Jetstar Gold Coast Titans claim the 2010 NRL premiership :(

I think the weeks rest didn't help the titans. Plus a very easy game against The warriors didnt help the
Titans to prepare for a Final.
They looked slow tonight, Rogers can't pull the trigger anymore.

Those knock ons by Zillman were costly and the Roosters did stop Scott Prince quite well from playing normally.

I don't think so. They were just totally outclassed the other night. It wouldn't have mattered where they played that game.
Good season for the Titans though. I don't think they have a top 4 side, so to get to the Prelims is a top effort.
