View Full Version : How many hours of sleep do you get a night?
Bombardier 05-11-2005, 09:32 AM Figured this would be a good place to get a good range of answers. For various reasons my sleep is ****ed up these days (check the marijuana thread, I think, if you want a bit more detail) and I'm trying to figure out how much other people need to get by. For me it seems like I feel worse when I get too much then when I get under what you're "supposed" to.
If you can let me know how many hours you get on average, and whether or not that works out for you.
dionysusolympus 05-11-2005, 09:34 AM Minimally 4 to 5. I prefer 6 or 7 hours. When I begin my full on training, that's all I'm going to get every night...that is, 4-5 hours. :boxing:
masterdirector 05-11-2005, 10:09 AM For me it depends on basically if I'm on these ****ing forums or not. If I get on the computer, I could end up not going to sleep at all. Time flies when you're wasting bull**** time. Its 10 am here now. I got on at about 1:30 after Conan went off when I stayed on for good. Holy **** I've got to go.
Sometimes I'll crash and get like 11-15 good hours of sleep. Seems like I get to a point when I get so much sleep that I actually feel exhausted from sleeping too much (I dream hard, baby), so I need more sleep.
During the school year if I didn't bull**** around too much and didn't have 200 things I'd put off until the last possible moment, I'd get about 4-5 hours of sleep. Pretty much all through April I was a ****ing zombie, getting about 1-3 hours every night, even weekends. It sucked. But I'm out of ****ing school now! Yeah mofos!

it's already 1:45 am manila time and my eyes are still wide open.

AgonYx0 05-11-2005, 01:57 PM i only take naps when i get off work only if i drink the night before, like last night i was up drinking till midnight then woke up at 6:30 for work, so nap time for me when i get home.

anyone know why that is? i also have the same problem, if i sleep too much i feel flat and cant be bothered to do anything but sit, eat and watch tv all day.
i remember last summer, i was following this diet and exercise program, full of fruit, vitamins and other foods as well as a lot of cardio work. well during this period i got excellent sleep, waking up full of energy, getting about 8/9 hours. well the point is that the kind of food you eat and the kind of exercise affects how well you sleep. unfortunatly i've got college rite now so i cant follow that regime fully, but come the summer i;ll be back on it.

I have to waste half my life at work and I want to spend the rest of it doing stuff I enjoy, not steaming vegetables and sleeping.

i get roughly 4 hours of sleep a night ( but keep in mind my boss thinks i'm a retard, which is how lack of sleep affects my performance ). i do take naps, when i can, but it's usually after work if i have time. i'd like to sleep more but then all i'd be able to do is work and sleep and i hate my job so i need to do some fun stuff each day ( like punching the heavy bag ) to get rid of stress, and of course there's all the other crap we have to do like paying bills, buying food, cooking food, that cuts into sleep time
adrsan84 05-12-2005, 03:28 AM I get 8 solid hours a night no matter what, weekends i stay out later but i sleep in later, i never have to nap cuz 8 hours is plenty.
useally about 6 and that aint enough by far, im allways sleepy.

Being hung over at work sucks. A while back I was cracked out on some other **** I had taken on Saturday. It was Monday and I still felt like hell. It was the only time I ate our caf's greasy breakfast. All that bacon and egg and hash brown made me feel a million times better, for whatever reason.

Okay, I used the term "cracked out", so I see why you were confused. Didn't even get that until now. That's just something I picked up that people say when they're hungover from certain drugs. Like if you've fried yourself good over the weekend, you're cracked out. I suppose you could be craked out on crack, though :) .

i answered this on another post i think. its called being lathargic. by that i mean that because you are doing no exercise your body shuts down and u start to feel tired even though u have just woken up or have done nothing all day! i got this a lot during the summer. i dont know the exact reason why it is like this but thats whats its called.

the_painless 05-15-2005, 08:37 PM hey mckay! what sleeping pills were they? i try stilnox but everytime i get off them i cannot sleep. it's like i gotta keep taking them in order to sleep. It sucks! The manufacturers will tell you all kinds of stories- they all say they have no rebound effect but that is all a pile of ****!!!!
