I am not posting this to start **** with anyone, or because I am trying to push a certain agenda. Obviously people know my politics here but I hope they realize that I am posting this here because it was written by a well-known boxing personality, and because it might be interesting to talk about. If you criticize what is said I probably won't fight back, because I didn't put this here to be its Great Defender.

Okay, having said that, I thought this was a interesting write-up by none other than Jim Lampley, which was posted on some celebrity blog site started by Ariana Huffington (I don't know the details, my wife just told me about it).

The Biggest Story of Our Lives

At 5:00 p.m. Eastern time on Election Day, I checked the sportsbook odds in Las Vegas and via the offshore bookmakers to see the odds as of that moment on the Presidential election. John Kerry was a two-to-one favorite. You can look it up.

People who have lived in the sports world as I have, bettors in particular, have a feel for what I am about to say about this: these people are extremely scientific in their assessments. These people understand which information to trust and which indicators to consult in determining where to place a dividing line to influence bets, and they are not in the business of being completely wrong. Oddsmakers consulted exit polling and knew what it meant and acknowledged in their oddsmaking at that moment that John Kerry was winning the election.

And he most certainly was, at least if the votes had been fairly and legally counted. What happened instead was the biggest crime in the history of the nation, and the collective media silence which has followed is the greatest fourth-estate failure ever on our soil.

Many of the participants in this blog have graduate school educations. It is damned near impossible to go to graduate school in any but the most artistic disciplines without having to learn about the basics of social research and its uncanny accuracy and validity. We know that professionally conceived samples simply do not yield results which vary six, eight, ten points from eventual data returns, thaty's why there are identifiable margins for error. We know that margins for error are valid, and that results have fallen within the error range for every Presidential election for the past fifty years prior to last fall. NEVER have exit polls varied by beyond-error margins in a single state, not since 1948 when this kind of polling began. In this past election it happened in ten states, all of them swing states, all of them in Bush's favor. Coincidence? Of course not.

Karl Rove isn't capable of conceiving and executing such a grandiose crime? Wake up. They did it. The silence of traditional media on this subject is enough to establish their newfound bankruptcy. The revolution will have to start here. I challenge every other thinker at the Huffington Post: is there any greater imperative than to reverse this crime and reestablish democracy in America? Why the mass silence? Let's go to work with the circumstantial evidence, begin to narrow from the outside in, and find some witnesses who will turn. That's how they cracked Watergate. This is bigger, and I never dreamed I would say that in my baby boomer lifetime.

If he actually said that, it explains why he's in boxing and not a politician. What a loon.

Thats a pretty good editorial by Lampley, hey my favorite boxing commentator is a cool guy politically too, I expected as much by his demeanor. Even though I am no John Kerry fan he say some good stuff in this OP ed.

Yes, I do remember posting that! Hopefully people will have a look at that in case they think I'm some sort of conspiracy nut myself.

I never really bought into the Republicans won the electon by cheating thing, and if they did I really dont care. I think people overestimate how of a difference there actually is between Bush and Kerry.

What was Kerry's platform

1. I can fight the war in the middle east better than Bush because my military record is more noble.

2. I am smart Massachusets guy with a pinstripe suit Bush is a stupid texan moron

3. We need to get Saudi Arabia

4. I am smarter I can kill terrorist better, bush is a moron who misprounounces the word "nuclear"

6. I talk out of both sides of mouth, American people are so stupid they wont notice.

That point is especially funny because they're both from rich New England families, went to the same elite university, and were members of the same secret society.

It's kind of disheartening to see that Lampley is such a nut. I guess anythings possible, but he needs to get some evidence before he starts throwing **** like that around.

I didnt know Huffington's elitiest snob, blog board was up yet? I'll have to check it out.

What's the story with it? She has stuff from Frum and Scarborough there as well, so I don't think she's playing favourites in terms of politics. Still, I could see where you would get the elitist part from, based on what I saw.

I have just seen things about it in the past weeks saying how she's getting all these hollywood people to write blogs on it, like Tim Robbins and Warren Beatty.

Seems like the front page at least is light on Hollywood phonies and heavy on people that have something worthwhile to say. At least Sean Penn isn't up there.

I actually dont give a **** if there are a lot of Hollywood phonies, becase it's still interesting to hear what they have to say.
The news on the home page looks pretty liberal I must say.

Yeah, I was noticing that as well. Oh well, a few token counter-opinions is more than most political sites will offer you.

Its no surprise Lampley is a complete ****ing dip****. Listen to the stupid ****er. I love it when there is even the slightest technical trouble he looks like a whore in church. All he has to do is talk to the camera for like an extra 20 seconds and he gets all flusterd and ****. He completely gets unraveled. Kinda got of topic a little, sorry.
