Who do you think is the most underrated boxer?

TheGreat1

Brewster/Ruiz
most people think they really really suck. I know they aren't the greatest, but they are champs, and have good records. you have to be good to get a title shot, and these guys not only got the shot they won. and continue to win.

Ruiz should have lost his title though against golota at bourne supremacy

TheGreat1

it's funny how so many people can comment on a overated fighter, saying he's not that good but no one has anything to say when it comes to giving a fighter props. these guys bust the ass to get to where they are but all most can do is look at there faults and call them bums, when they loose a fight.

i don't think so, ruiz outworked him. the only reason it was close was because the points he lost, from the foul and the 2nd KD when golota threw him down.

Sinan Samil Sam probably as he could beat any of the current titleholders in my opinion.

And maybe Felix Sturm cause everyone out here judges him on the DLH fight which wasn't his best performance.

TheGreat1

Yeah... did you watch the match with golota and Ruiz?

yes 3 times, scoring each round the 2nd and third time, with the points i had ruiz up by 1 point

Pac_Man = God
11-30-2004, 06:45 PM
yeah but Golota landed so many punches and Ruiz didnt really land that many. He hit a lot in the first round. but after that golota won the rest i think.

i forgot about him, he is pretty good, didn't he ko Danny Williams?

really u think so. i had ruiz winning all the late rounds. he was landing before every clinch, and golota almost went down in the 11th, i think that was the round, i gave ruiz a 2 point round then. so did the judges, with out that it could have been a draw, but in no way did golota win.

Pac_Man = God

Ruiz landed a good punch every once in a while but Golota kept giving hard shots. Face and Body.

TheGreat1

i think golota could when if he kept up pressure, that was the same reason he only got a draw with bryd. he lets the other fighter set the pace. both ruiz and bryd, keep the pace and pressure on ruiz.

kassim ouma is good nobody ever talks about him

Pac_Man = God
11-30-2004, 06:51 PM
That is true... but golota knocked him down twice... and Ruiz kept giving cheap shots which they should have minused points..

golota should have lost points too, nither fighter fought a clean fight. Ruiz was hit after a few clinches, and after the bell

Yes he did. The same man everyone is hyping now was down three times and lost by way of TKO in the 6th. It's not that long ago actually. They fought on 8th of February last year.

yeah, it's about being in the right place at the right time, i really think i could have beaten tyson that day, ofcourse only after he injured himself and could hardly stand in the 1st round. Tyson showed alot of heart that fight, he knew he couldn't loose to danny, so he tried to stand in there and knock him out. tyson wasn't out, he just knew he couldn't continue with 1 leg.

Yeah, I completly agree, in my opinion Danny Williams just got lucky ... very lucky. It has earned him some serious paydays.

Vassily Jirov has found one fan. i wish he wasn't rated so low in the heavys. Personally i have high hopes for him to make more of a name for himself. Hopefully beating some key names in this so so division at the moment.

Its either Ricardo Lopez or micheal Spinks.I think so too. Along with Holmes who is often forgotten whenever Marciano is mentioned. Holmes matched Rocky's record and was about to make it better, when Michael Spinks derailed him.

Of the current crop, Tszyu, I think is undervalued. He has so long dominated a talent-rich division but never got/gets the recognition equal to such a feat.

Then there's a totally forgotten one: Mexican sensation Ricardo Moreno, who had promoters scampering for entertainers (singers) to fill in time: Moreno's all of but 3 of 73 fights ended early! :D

For all you trivia buffs out there: :D

Ricardo Moreno, also dubbed "Pajarito", fought between the years 1954-1967. He retired with a record of 60 wins (59 KOs! and 1 win by DQ4)- 12 losses and 1 Draw. He was KOd in 9 of his losses; the only decision losses he had were against Nacho Escalante, Meno Diez and Kid Irapuato, all of those fairly early in his career. He had a solitary bid for a world title--Featherweight--but was KOd in 3 by Hogan (Kid) Bassey. Many of his losses came at the tail-end of his career, prompting the question, why wasn't he given more shots at the title? Oh, well, boxing politics, then and now... Pajarito died at the age of 41 in 1978. :(

How about Tyson present day? D Williams is getting an immediate shot at the HW title based only his knocking out a washed up and injured fighter who was over-rated in the first place.

Tyson's now underrated....because he used to be overrated, but the guy who beat him is getting more credit than he deserves ?

Is that what you're saying ?

to me it is an absolute joke that no one has mentioned Jose Luis Castillo? After this weekend everyone will be talking about him...you all will be shocked at the relative ease in which he pounds Casamayor...you all will then rethink your opinions about a matchup with Corrales...most believe Corrales would win...after this weekend I think a few minds will certainly switch camps...this guy has been underated forever...hopefully by knocking out Joel some people will seriously start to take note on how good this guy really is.

Taylor is very good, i think he could beat Hopkins, eastman, and sturm, but he would find himself on his back if he got in the ring with Tito.

don't worry homie, i got your back!! i am mad he is not fighting corrales this weekend, but he is fighting a real good fighter anyways!! in fact, a guy who already beat corrales!! in fact the other guy that beat corrales, mayweather, castillo already fought him twice and did way better than corrales. in fact, he should have gotten the decision in the first one. don't get me wrong, im a big corrales fan, but i like castillo better. i think castillo stops corrales if and i know they will eventually fight. i hope he stops casamayor to show corrales he is the man. i know castillo will win this weekend, but chico better not call himself the lightweight champ cuz he is not.....it's castillo!!

Brewster is better than I thought he was. However, Ruiz fights ILLEGALLY! No Don King=Ruiz getting rocked David Tua style every time he fights.
