People say on here alot that Aaron Pryor used to beat up on Sugar Ray Leonard in sparring.

I bet it gets annoying when you're the champ and practically every sparring partner you hire tries to take advantage of the opportunity to make a name for himself by dominating you in training. I'd be knockin out my sparring partners for real if I was champ.

Sometimes when you're sparring you try to train for certain things, like head movement and countering with straight shots only or defense and jabbing, knocking them out just to prevent them from not spreading the word would be a waste of time kind of.

The sparring partners should wear gear since they getting beat up but the fighters need to toughen themselves and build a chin and not use gear.

No way its like muai thai boxing. They keep kicking wooden poles and hard leather bags so the blade of the shin gets covered in cartilage for leg strikes in matches. Same concept for the chin. Look at Hopkins chin how square and thick it is from cartilage build up.

here's one for ya, best fight nobody remembers in Sac: Chico Corrales vs. Gary St. Claire, at the Hornet's Nest at Sac State in '98, there were about 900 people there, Chico dominated for 12 rounds in his first televised fight (on ESPN2)

Holy said it at the post-fight press conference, that nothing that Tyson did was a surprise because Bell hit him just as hard and more often than Tyson did....

holyfield was just a roughouse fighter, he never intensionaly used his head, he just fought in close, and every once in a while he would clash heads with the other guy, it's pretty simple logic

And Toney wasn't even trying most of the time either. He just let Danny throw punches cause they couldn't do **** to him.

the fights aren't big, Rogelio Castaneda's the main event, but it's Cente Escobedo's 1st fight in Sac so the Woodland crowd will be in the house gettin all rowdy, should be fun times

I heard (i think from this forum actually) that Kostya Tszyu gets owned. Its not as if he is really gettin owned though. I guarantee if he didnt feel ablidged not to hurt anyone and if he was being paid for the fight he could do every sparring partner.
