MJ406 01-30-2010, 09:03 PM anyone know how that free stream on easports.com is supposted to work?
johnle43 01-30-2010, 09:06 PM yes, def wanna see hershel walker...wonder how he's gonna do. he should've done this sh1t like 10yrs ago atleast.
mmaphilippines 01-30-2010, 10:08 PM strikeforce miami has now started
mathed 01-30-2010, 10:10 PM I'll be watching because I want to see Walker in action
Wes Sims is a joke. Lashley needs to test himself instead of fighting these f*cking cans.
mathed 01-30-2010, 10:28 PM Simms would have gotten stomped out without the stoppage
Nodogoshi 01-30-2010, 10:41 PM OMFG! I can't believe what I just saw.
crillz 01-30-2010, 10:42 PM OMFG! I can't believe what I just saw.
I KNEW it man I was looking to cash in on this one, F*CK!
Nodogoshi 01-30-2010, 10:44 PM Lawler's got a huge right hand. It's very unorthodox how he throws it looping from the southpaw stance, even though he was squared up in this case.
Unbelievable man. I'd been looking forward to seeing Melvin too. Frightening power. He's always liable to the counter from a half-decent striker, though.
Mech. 01-30-2010, 10:46 PM robbie wowler
jakkups 01-30-2010, 10:47 PM Wow, that was a good one. Robbie had one shot to win hat fight with the way it was going and it worked. Ironically its the punch that Manhoef has fallen prey to in his kickboxing defeats.

Which punch has he fallen prey to? Southpaw right hook? Looping right? Lawler's is sort of something in between, really.
Nodogoshi 01-30-2010, 10:50 PM The circus fight is next. I'm currious to see how this goes. It'll be nice of Walker does indeed show something. His MA background may bare itself.

Yes the right hook, he's been KO'ed by it a bunch of times before like last year against Maeda. Lawler's is thrown in an unorthodox way but nevertheless Melvin doesn't seem to be able to see it coming no matter what way it's thrown.

For sure, just wanted to clarify. I remember the first time I saw Lawler that right left a lasting impression. It was against Tiki and the fight was tactically quite similar, although Tiki was know Manhoof of course. Lawler's striking style is very unique. I was shocked to see him execute it like that against Manhoof.

I can still here the thud of Lawler's fist smashing the ground as he tried to put Tiki's head through the mat.

mmaphilippines,
you post same things in Pac-land.. you Pinoy? you know URCC (Pinoy MMA)?
if ever, do you think it'll grow? they're alreay 7-yr old..
$ LegenD $ 02-01-2010, 09:24 AM all in all this event was a very good one....nick's fight was balls to the walls crazy....ive never been so nervous about a diaz fight before but homeboy gutted it out and closed the show.....lawler is one bad mafu'kn dude....he was getting owned and his legs were taking a beating but you gotta love a guy that keeps his cool still looking for the perfect counter and did he land it or what....that shot literally dropped my jaw in amazement....i wasn't too hyped about walker and i think he's just going to be like a special attraction i dont really think he can hang with the young guns.....the lashley-sims fight was very dissappointing but its not lashley fault though he should of finished him in more dominant fashion to creat more of a buzz....great night of fights i must say hope strikeforce comes to dallas this year i will def be there
Cuauhtémoc1520 02-01-2010, 09:44 AM I gotta say this, Hershel Walker is a BEAST. I know what some of you will say, it was a circus and he's got no skills but for a guy who is 47 yrs old with no mma experience, he's an amazing person.
I know he's been "training" in Karate for years but as we all know, training and fighting are two different things.
I can't believe this guy is almost 50 and has the body he does, he is truly a freak of nature.
If he started fighting 30 years ago, he would have been a truly great fighter. It's amazing to see him doing what he's doing and the fact that he donated the purse to charity even shows he only cares about competing.

Yeah, that guy has the body of a 25 year old. He does not look almost 50 at all.
Some good fights. Good comebacks by both Lawler and Diaz. ****, I can't believe how hard Lawler hit Manhoef. I was watching it with my friend and just as I was saying "Oh man, Lawler is don..." BAM, he knocked him out cold.
$ LegenD $ 02-01-2010, 12:48 PM ok hershel looked good but against his opponent you could not really tell how he will react getting hit or taken down....did anyone notice the small jittery steps he was taking...but yeah his physice is crazy and his mentality is great....all that screaming a love it telling his opponent to bring it.....funny moment wat about when lawler just ketp walking around after the right just limping i was like sit da fawk down bro...

The shot by Lawler to be honest was lucky IMO. Not to say he isn't a good striker but he was getting beaten badly right before that moment. It goes to show you how effective a good boxer can be in MMA. The right hand he threw wasn't the prettiest but it landed on the temple and then it was the second left that KO'd him.
I don't care who his opponent was and what he did, just the fact tha Hershel was in there doing his thing was amazing. I mean it's not like Cotoure or Coleman that are older guys as well, they at least were life long fighters or wrestlers. Hershel has zero experience and it took a lot of balls to get in there and do the damn thing.

lawler has the one shot power to change the course of a fight, he had jake shields out on his feet befoee making the mistake of taking him down.
good to see diaz win also
i can't believe hershel is almost 50 to look at the dude's body, he's more ripped than most 25 year old fighters

Yeah, Lawler is a unique fighter. Always dangerous and fights with an unorthodox style. He actually comes from a wrestling background, and I get the feeling he's a natural righty despite fighting from the southpaw stance. The fact that he stood right in front of a kickboxer of Melvin's caliber and went all in with that loaded right speaks volumes to his testicular fortitude. I could hardly believe that he stuck to such a game plan, let alone was able to execute it.
