View Full Version : put it to rest mayweather outboxed costillo in the 1st match!
this was the first time mayweather got hit a few times so the crowd (idiots who dont know anything about boxing/mexicans) went crazy..floyd easily won the fight...and really outboxed him in the 2nd fight...costillo is a good fighter..but mayweather is a legend *****es!! stop saying costillo got robbed and stop lying to urself
Truth 05-08-2005, 08:01 PM I never saw that fight but from what I heard Mayweather won a controversial decision in the first fight and then won more decisivley in the second fight.
The Troll 05-08-2005, 08:02 PM I never saw Mayweather vs Castillo I but saw Mayweather vs Castillo II and it was a very close fight I would say Castillo landed the harder punches but Floyd stole alot of rounds just from landing those probing straight jabs and dancing from the outside while Castillo was unable to catch up with him.
Brz_Pugilist 05-08-2005, 08:08 PM Its 1-1 thats from both fights that i saw.Castillo was more busier in the first fight.Mayweather got the decision, all i know is that Castillo makes Mayweather work hard for the fight.
Round 1 05-08-2005, 08:11 PM this was the first time mayweather got hit a few times so the crowd (idiots who dont know anything about boxing/mexicans) went crazy..floyd easily won the fight...and really outboxed him in the 2nd fight...costillo is a good fighter..but mayweather is a legend *****es!! stop saying costillo got robbed and stop lying to urself
If you want to put it to rest, why are you starting a thread about it?

No way in hell did Mayweather win the first fight and second was very close like you said.
The Pretender 05-08-2005, 08:13 PM Ruiz best professional fighter ever to come from latin american roots.
SuckaPunch 05-08-2005, 08:14 PM All the HBO crew had Castillo winning this fight. And Lederman in particular had this 115-111 for JLC.
I personally had JLC winning this fight since he hurt Mayweather more than Mayweather hurt him.

Are you saying that mexicans don't know anything about boxing???
What the **** is you problem?
hugefan87 05-08-2005, 08:25 PM Mayweather was beaten in the first match, its so obvious. if anyone thinks he didn't they're crazy. but hell i can't change your minds so think what you want
Mayweather did not win the first fight. I am sorry. That was a robbery, and JLC won clearly. Some things are just unfair...and that is the way boxing goes. Why do you think so many people do not acknowledge the first fight as being a victory for Floyd?......because it was not. Floyd was stunned at certain points...was outlanded, and was running away from JLC the entire time. The second fight was much closer, and I thought Mayweather won. I am a fan of both of these guys, and they are my two favorite fighters believe it or not. I would never give a biased opinion as to these things, because that would be absolutely ridiculous.
Mayweather recieved the title....and JLC did not beat him decisevily enough the second time around to regain it. This goes back to the fight last night. I heard many Castillo fans *****ing, and whining non stop about the "15 second count" etc......"mouthpieces" etc......."unfair stoppage" (which I actually thought was a tad premature)...but so god damn what. Things happen and just acknowledge the fact they have moved on since they fought, and more than likely will never rematch eachother (Mayweather and Castillo). They learned lessons from eachother, that ultimately helped them with their great careers.
Anghell 05-08-2005, 08:33 PM I saw both fights and I had it 1-1. Mayweather, in my opinon, took a beaten in the first fight, but in the second fight I feel he clearly outboxed Castillo. Mayweather is a great boxer, but i can't stand him. I hope Gatti knocks him out, but i doubt that will happen.
Brz_Pugilist 05-08-2005, 08:37 PM I agreed Anghell, the second fight he won, even though it was close, but he won the fight.I had it exactly as the judges, 115-113.
I hope Castillo comes back, i like watching him fight, unlike Mayorga who is aggresive at times, this kid can box.

SweetScience 05-08-2005, 11:26 PM Castillo won the first fight and Mayweather won the second fight. Both bouts were close though.

How you gonna put down mexicans. Ruiz was of mexican stock and a world champ.
Alpha Male 05-08-2005, 11:45 PM Who gives a ****? That **** is water under the bridge. It's a good thing the fights aren't judged in the court of public opinion, because we would have ****ing bums as champions for christ sakes.

Public opinion? Are you kidding me? Public opinion is what ruined Ruiz! We got bums today thanks to public opinion.

Nah....Ruiz was a victim of his own demise. He sucked in every way.
