I made this thread for "The Pretender". He can respond to this bad boy all day long, in order to get it out of his system. Any arguements about the man whom we are trying to forget.....can be placed here in an acceptable fashion.

Ill start this off. Ruiz sucks pretender. What do you have to say about that.

Absolutely. Nothing more impressive than a 19 second knockout loss in the first round to David "The Tuaman" Tua.

Ruiz might be great on paper but in boxing winning isn't everything. He never made any fans, he never had a great fight and he made no impact on the sport other than the fact he was beat by two former middleweights.

He made fans, read his homepage. 100s of people wrote in telling them they missed him and wished him the best. Winning is everything in a sport and Ruiz has a better record than most other contenders who people thought would become champs...like TUA.

Don King abandoned Ruiz and sold him out because he wasn't a popular guy with the fickle so called fight fans out there. He wanted Ruiz to lose so he could sell more tickets with another fighter.

20 years from now people will recognize Ruiz's contributions to the sport. Don't rule out a comeback either. Great fighters never truly give up the sport after a belt is stolen from them.

It would be so hillarios and at the same time a disgrace to boxing if Ruiz actually came out of retiremement and unified the belts due to his "innovative use of grappling tactics."

With the way the heavyweight division is now its not an impossiblity.

Because there isn't another fighter with the heart of Ruiz. He doesn't need Don King. He can pull off what Holyfield never could.

See you guys got issues when you have so much disrespect for a fighter like Ruiz that you have to think its so impossible that anyone can appreciate him for a great boxer. You can't argue his record, its one of the best out there. Let's see if Toney can survive 4 defenses. I doubt it.

Ruiz was a man that got away with fighting illegally. Plain and simple. He would clinch more than he would land punches. It was sick and I sincerely hope that he never gets a title shot again. If don king didnt have a say in his career, he would never have gotten those bull**** decisions that brought him the recognition. An out of shape ass James Toney took care of his ass EASILY, AND he's a former middleweight. I heard that Ruiz is a nice guy. A good guy. That doesnt mean I'm going to cheer for his cheating ass. Bottom line, I'm glad he's been dealt with. So easily too.

It ain't cheating if it's within the rules and guess what he fought within the rules of boxing as they stand today. Otherwise he'd be DQ'd like Golota gets when it balls people in the ring. Ruiz was smart and you people just can't stand that. You should be pissed about all the people he beat for being so dumb.

The bottom line is that Ruiz HAD to clinch non-stop to be in a position to win the fight. If he's so great, why did James Toney have such an easy time with him? HE DIDNT/COULDNT CLINCH ILLEGALLY. Plain and simple. An overweight middleweight made Ruiz look like a nobody, and his obese ass didnt even look tired, just bloated :D

Roy Jones made Ruiz look like a fool as well.It looked like Roy broke his ****in nose too.

Ok lets turn this around. Since youre such a Roy nutrider, why'd he get his ass KTFO with a single punch by Tarver and then in the 2nd round by Glen Johnson of all people? He was pretty quick to go into retirement after that happened. He got schooled like an amateur!

So there's your answer. Even great fighters eventually lose. RJJ never stuck around to defend his title after he won it from Ruiz, instead he vacated the belt like a ***** because he knew it was a fluke. Ruiz defended it 4 times so he's the real champ.

I'm not a Roy nuthugger, Roy just made Ruiz look foolish. I got a good laugh out of Tarver KO'ing Roy. I'm not a hater, I just base my opinions on logic and not emotion. You guys just fire back "blah blah your the nuthugger, blah blah your a hater.." why dont you explain why it was so easy for Roy Jones and ESPECIALLY a severely overweight James Toney to easily defeat him? It's an obvious FACT that he was not allowed to illegally clinch. You simply can't clinch more than you land punches. It's a fact that Don King is Ruiz' promoter, and he's been known as a shady character. Just excuses or namecalling you and emotionally charged fans of certain boxers are all that ever reply. Never analyzation or debate. Just name calling and nonsense and that's not logic, it's emotion.

Two factors allowed Toney to lose that fight. Even a great champ like Ruiz who took more **** from the media and so called fans than anyone in boxing history can only take so much before it starts to get to him. No doubt for everything he brought to boxing and how hard he had to fight to accomplish what he did he felt pretty damn low and unappreciated. He then went into this last fight deciding not to fight his fight but to fight to please the idiots in the media and the dumb fans. He should have never done this and stuck to smothering his opponents. Going off his game lost him the fight.

The last factor is Don King wanting to get rid of Ruiz because the "first HW latino" didn't sell and everyone he set Ruiz up with would lose. Ruiz wouldn't sell seats so he had to get rid of him to set up better fights. So he made sure the ref really got on Ruiz ass during the whole fight. That ref never stopped Toney from clinching, but if Ruiz even thought about it, the ref was there interfering. It was a total set up.

Ruiz was still a better champ than Roy was and went out like one, not a ***** like Roy did. That's pathetic that Roy never even took a defense. He just gave it up because he knew it was too much for him.
