This thread makes no sense at all.Nobody has ever questioned Hagler's chin.Hagler is regarded as having one of the greatest chin's in the history of the sport.

Why would you even ask this question?

I can't believe that you started this thread for any reason other than you were perhaps bored.

Think there is some debate on whether he was ever knocked down, depending on your view on the Roldan fight slip or knock down. But I don't think even people who don't particularily rate Hagler question his chin

Since those people question the chin of hagler tell them to watch these fights:

RD 6 vs Mugabi, RD 1 vs Hearns, RD 12 vs Duran, RD 2 vs Roldan, and taking shots in both Obelmejias fights. Fulgencio won over 80& of his fights by KO and had knocked out like 21 of his last 23 opponents before facing Hagler; instead Hagler took the blows and KO Obelmejias.

Thats it, some people like to say stuff like that for attention and to get debates started. Hagler had one of the best chins ever!

Listen, I'm not trying to get any debates started but it was either here or on ********Boxing that I read it somewhere.

I know that Hagler had one of the best, if not THE best chins in boxing. If I wanted to start a debate, I would say something restarted like any heavyweight of this era would beat Ali.

People question all sorts of strange things on here. SRR is overrated, Duran overrated, Joe Louis overrated, Joe Frazier lacks heart, Muhammad Ali would get killed by either Klitschko, Marciano overrated, Hagler overrated and on and on and on. Sometimes the posters have a good argument but most of the time its just silliness. Hagler's chin being questioned is like questioning Foreman's punching power

Only time I saw Marvin close to being hurt was Rd 1 of Hagler Hearns, Tommy lined him up and cracked him with a big right that twisted Marvin around, and then a sharp right uppercut as they exchanged and Marvin was stunned and fell forward into Tommy, and recovered a few moments later.

Hearns and 'Cyclone' Hart came the closest to hurting Hagler although he wasn't close to being knocked out. He was also supposedly in some trouble against Kevin Finnegan and early in his career against Dornell Wigfall.

I've followed the sport everyday for the last 30 years, and have never once, heard anyone ever question Haglers chin..
Take a look at the "top 10 greatest chins" thread.. He's in pretty much every list..

I won't say he was hurt but there were 2 occassions in the first Antuofermo fight where he was buzzed a little but not hurt. Howard Cosell did flat out say "he hurt hagler" but it was the usual cosell being over dramatic.

Hagler only defended his title against lighter weight fighters or guys who was not renowned power punchers with the exception of Juan"the hammer"Roldan

Duran - lightweight
Hearns - welterweight
Leonard - welterweight
Antuofermo - light-middleweight
Mugabi - light-middleweight

If Hagler has a suspect chin then words can't even begin to describe Amir Khan's.

i have read on this forum posts from some who question the chin of Joe Frazier.... Frazier was floored 6 times by George Foreman before their fight was stopped but he was not knocked unconscious like what Lennox Lewis was by a mediocre puncher like Hasim Rahman.. Foreman was the hardest puncher in the history of the sport.. Hagler had a good chin and so did Frazier

That was uncalled for.Obviously you harbor some sort of resentment towards Mr.Khan, but your personal attacks are unwarranted.

Lewis against Mccall would have been allowed to continue however in the older days, but Lewis probably wouldn't have recovered too well.

I've never heard anyone question Hagler's chin, but just watch the first round of the Hearns fight and tell me how many fighters could walk right into those punches and keep going, let alone win.

In all my years of following boxing I have never seen a single person question Hagler's chin. Not even as a joke.

Wow. This will surely be the only time I ever agree with you. :lol1:

I have never heard anyone question Hagler's chin. Ever. The only thing I've ever heard said about it is that it is, without question, one of the greatest chins ever.
