IMO, there will be no rematch even though it was one of the greatest fights i have ever seen. It took too long to get this matchup in the first place and had all kinds of complications, PLUS Joe goosen doesn't want to see another fight like this for corrales. He even said him self that they should never fight again and that "its too much." I agree although whenever they fight it would be the same great fight.

And i know some ppl are gonna get angry at this post, but i do not want to see one of my favorite fighters fight till he becomes crippled.

I think both fighters will be moving on to bigger and better things regardless if there's a rematch or not.Heck,Tszyu got kayoed the same way as Castillo and said it was the best learning experience he could have gotten. So,I think Castillo will comeback strong as ever maybe at 140, and Corrales will dominate 135 if he chooses to stay at that weight class.

This may be off-subject, but I'm too lazy to make a thread about it..

JP, it looks like your were wrong about PacMan winning, wrong about Castillo winning, and on June 18th your streak will continue.

By the way, who do you think will win Winky vs. Tito?

What kind of crap is that? They're fighters not *****es. They should get in the ring asap and prove the next fight to a real resolution that everyone can agree on.

Yep,both Fight of the Year Candidates but last nights loss hurt alot more, because Castillo was on the verge of stopping Corrales but got caught.

I like Tito by KO.

Even if there's a rematch it won't be anything close to what we have witnessed last night. They're aware of each other's power now, and they'll be a lot more cautious next time.

I dont think castillo could fight a different fight..thast his fight and thast what he has to do to win..he was breaking corrales down...corrales could try to box but castillo would left hook his way in...fight MAY not be as crazy but still going to be a great fight

Castillo likes to fight one way, and thats to pressure you, he will put up his face in the process, i just wished he had better defense.

i wont be surprised if their isn't a rematch...like someone said before, these two fighters will move on with their careers and go on to bigger things.

When someone takes your belt you should come right back and fight for it again. Thats what Ruiz did when Roy took his belt and Roy vacated because he knew he wouldnt win a rematch.

Ruiz just proves he's a warrior in those pics. Look at the heart on that dude to keep fighting like that.

Maybe you'd be more comfortable watching a pair of boxers fight to the death, rather than 12 rounds or until a KO.

I can see your point, but there are a few differences...

The Phillips fight was Tszyu's only 'war' except for maybe Hector Lopez. Castillo has been in a few 'wars'.
Tszyu was a 27 year old, 6 year 'pro' as opposed to Castillo being a 31 year old, 15 year pro.
It was Tszyu's 20th pro fight, Castillo's 60th. Yes Tszyu had a long amateur career, but barely got touched.

Castillo will probably keep fighting at a high-ish level, but will not be the same fighter in my opinion.

If there's a rematch, I think you're right....Chico will fight a smarter fight from the outside, not giving Castillo a chance to get off his best shots and work where he does his best fighting. Also, I wouldn't blame either fighter for not fighting a rematch. Fights like this one should be a once-in-a-career thing. It takes so much out of a fighter, people just don't realize how draining it is on the human body to take a beating like these two warriors did, and it'll be almost a year before either of them will be the same again, physically, if ever. And mentally, neither will ever be the same again.

How do you feel he's retarded? Granted, the title makes it seem like he has solid info, but his post plainly states that it's his opinion only. Why so uptight?

the title is a bait to get people to read the thread. the title should read "Do you think there should be a rematch?" or "there shouldn't be a corrales/castillo rematch." instead the thread creator was trying to bait everyone into thinking that there is not going to be a rematch by titling the thread "There Will Be No Corrales-castillo Rematch" the signs of a true attention whore. and personally his opinion makes no sense.

i totally disagree with you. Castillo seems like he wanted the rematch more then anything. Wouldn't you want it if you bascially ahd the fight won but you got caught with a good punch? Corrales is the one that doesnt want it anymore. Watch the fight again..watch his body language during and after the fight from round 8 and on..i think corrales is definitely not gonna be the same anymore along with castillo

castillo dont hit as hard as chico.. if chico turns into a boxer puncher castillo wont have a shot...all chico would have to do is choose when he wanted to bang ..in and out ..and watch the left hook from the outside and upper cut on the inside ..he wanted to do it the hard way and i never seen castillo that out he was done..chico always gets up..castillo was done

Even when Corrales backed up Castillo was able to jab him effectively. Corrales will NOT be able to outbox Castillo for 12 rounds. Casamayor is a better boxer than Corrales and he could not do it. Castillo is too good at making people fight his fight. Chico will fall into another close dog fight if they fight again, and he might also win again...but it wll be grueling and there will be no "outboxing" of Castillo by Chico.
