Who would win between James Toney and David Tua? Yes, it is a good question isn't it. Later brother brologs.

huh good question, Toney is my favorite HW, hopefully he will stay away from Tua. we all know toney would out box Tua and toney also has a good chin, but Tua has the power to KO anyone at any time

Yes, very true, and being behind on the cards only seems to encourage him even more to look for that knock-out. Toney would have to go into this fight with his mind set on two things, out-doing Tua (which isn't hard), and surviving 36 minutes of the relentless aggression Tua brings to the ring (which is hard), because there is no way Toney can stop Tua.

Tua last fought Rachman to a draw, and since then has had trouble with his managers. This is currently going through the courts. I think Kushner is his new promoter. Later brother brolog.

Tua would beat Toney, he`s too small to avoid Tua for 12 rds!

don't forget Toney has a great chin, that KD by RJJ was only because he was off balance, playing around, other than that i don't remember him ever being down.

Yes it was because Roy knocked him off his balance-not because his legs gave out underneath him.Later brother brolog.

It depends on how Tua comes in there. Toney would outbox and undress the Tua that fought Rahman, and take an easy decision similar to Chris Byrd's. The Tua that came on late against Oquendo, or took out Moorer would probably also beat Toney. And that's no commentary on Toney's chin, that's all about Tua's power. Still, I'm gonna lean toward Toney, who has been slightly more active and much more consistent over the past few years. Toney by UD.

I'm am one of those whose not convinced Toney is all that at Heavyweight. If he could beat Tua, which I don't think he could, I would then be a believer.

One thing is for sure though-we would see just how good Toneys chin is.Later brother brolog.

Tua is one of the few heavyweights with one punch KO power. The guy has knocked people out in every round, including the 12th. His power is the only reason he even stays around, some ****y fighter always comes along, lets their guard down against him and ends up getting knocked out. Tua is one of the most avoided fighters at heavyweight, noone is looking to fight him unless they are "forced" to do so.

James has a very good chin, but a solid power punch from Tua would put anyone to sleep.

Good match! The way the fight unfolds may be a throw-back to the old days. I see both as a sort of throw-backs. One, so well-schooled (shoulder rolls, feints; tight, reflexive, accurate counters, etc.); the other, a persistent threat through 12 rounds with his power!:D

I, also, anticipate it to be a Toney-Jirov, racheted up to much higher levels by Tua's power. :)

I think Tua would win this fight pretty easily if he is in shape... but he hasn't been in shape in years!!! So he would still win but Toney would win a couple of rounds! ;)

Toney is a great boxer, but at Middleweight, Lt Heavyweight or Cruiserweight. I am still not convinced of his heavyweight career. People love to give him credit for stopping Holyfield, but let's be honest Larry ****ing Donald destroyed Holyfield also so that does not say much. When Toney defeats one of the following heavyweights then he'll get props from me.

Both Klitschko's
Byrd
Ruiz (unfortunately)
Rahman
Barrett
Golota
Mccline
Whitaker
Tyson

I belive Toney would outbox him, but i dont think he can stay away from Tua`s monster hook the entire fight and when it finaly hits the chin of Toney its good night.

I believe Toney can outbox Tua, but when the hooks come aswinging and one connects, it will be "Lights Out" Toney.

i dunno, i just cant see many people standing in front of tua and out slugging him. it has been done before by The President, but we all know now that hes crazy as fucc. :D i dont like this match up for toney hes too stationary . all he would have to do to win would be stay on his toes and keep a jab in tuas face but i dont think he could fight that way .

I am shocked at how many people think the tuaman will beat Toney...Tua hasn't let his hands go in five or six years, seven hell along ****in time...he has never been the same since his fight with super ike. Yeah Toney may stand there and let guys bang on him but I can't see Tua's work rate being any where near enough to win....HEy guys I used to like tua a lot too, but give it up the samoan slugger lost it a long time ago!

This is your thread ToneyT-you are the ****in man or brolog or whatever!

Tua's knocked out fighters in every round except the seventh.

Against Johnson I believe...not in the last 13 years though. His chin is better now than it was back then too.

yup, O DOGG :D

to add to the topic, im assuming we're talking about a tua that at least did some training and is in reasonable shape for this fight. im a huge toney fan but damn, i just cant see someone standing there and taking those lefthooks

I believe that if Tua was in fightin shape, like 245 or so, he could do well against Toney. He could KTFO him in the mid rounds and like someone said before me, the Holyfield, or Oldyfield now that Toney fought wasn't ****.

245 is not going to cut it if you are ever going to see David Tua legitimately challenge for a world title again. Take a look at the Tua who beat Rock the first time or the Tua that lost to Ike...he was in the 220's, thats the Tua that we need to see...if he comes in and states that he is in great shape and he is weighs 244, in your mind you should tell David to go **** himself...if he is serious about becoming champ which I don't think he is he must come in in the 220's or low 230's....230 anything would be a great step forward but I don't think we will ever see that. I would love to be wrong about the Tuaman but I am tired of wanting him to be champ more than he wants to be champ...

Tua KO.

Toney in all his fights gets hit by an overhand rights.

He couldn;t take a TUA, TYSON, Votali, Vldimir right hand.

The shoulder roll is not suited to 250lb fights

I think Tua would catch Toney and knock him cold. Early, middle or late ... somewhere Tua's hook connects and it is over.

toney hasnt proved **** all at the moment.....he hasnt proved that he can take a punch by a HW.......and on the flip side TUA hasnt fought for year......this fight IMO would be up for grabs.....if TUA is outta shape and will most likely be......he will run outta gas (similar to tyson) and TOney would win bu UD.......but i still think that 1 punch by TUA is all that is needed......

LIGHTS OUT KO 4 TUA!!!
