I'd say: Tszyu Pacquiao Morales Tszyu Castillo Calzaghe Mayweather jr Now maybe but around the time when he fought Holmes and Tito, I would only give Floyd a chance. Just imagine X being smaller. He would still be very hard to beat. If he was 130 with his style he would still beat Morales. Maybe not now but definatly a couple of years ago The Troll 05-07-2005, 06:47 PM If Germaine Taylor beats Bernhard Hopkins I would expect him to be rated numero uno by the P4P officiators. DLT 05-07-2005, 06:48 PM If Germaine Taylor beats Bernhard Hopkins I would expect him to be rated numero uno by the P4P officiators. I dont think they would do that but they would definatly put him in the top 5 or higher. I actually think alot will think that X slipped more then Taylor beat him Showstoppa 05-07-2005, 06:50 PM Marco antonio Barrera The Troll 05-07-2005, 06:55 PM Also if Trinidad beats Winky Wright which I predict him to, if Hopkins looses to Taylor which I predict he will, and Mayweather does not look overly impressive against Gatti, which he wont (Gatti will KO him). The P4P title might be up for grabs between Erik Morales and Felix Trinidad. Barrera is not going to gain any spots in the P4P rating fighting the Mzonke Fana's of the world. Showstoppa 05-07-2005, 06:57 PM Morales is not better then Barrera. In any P4P list Barrera should be in front of Morales. elveiel 05-07-2005, 07:00 PM Marco antonio Barrera Barrera's a good fighter but he's not known for his speed or KO power, i think you need at least one of the two beat 40year old Hopkins. I still think Hopkins has the skills to outbox other boxers like Barrera. elveiel 05-07-2005, 07:03 PM Now maybe but around the time when he fought Holmes and Tito, I would only give Floyd a chance. Just imagine X being smaller. He would still be very hard to beat. If he was 130 with his style he would still beat Morales. Maybe not now but definatly a couple of years ago If we turned the clock back a few years i think my list would be very different. IMO its time for Hopkins to retire, he's done it all and is very rich. The fact people are giving an untested fighter like Taylor a very good chance against him just proves he's slipped. How can Tito be #1 when just 3 fights ago he was dominated for 12 rounds and KO by a guy who just lost (by your question) and since he has just beat Cheriffe and 2 guys who werent middelweights? How can Morales be #1 when he just lost to MAB and wasnt that long ago when he lost the first time to MAB and he has had some close fights also with guys like a one arm Chaves DLT 05-07-2005, 07:06 PM If we turned the clock back a few years i think my list would be very different. Taylor has looked pretty good and just because X has slipped doesnt mean he should retire. He can slip and still be better then everyone even though I dont think he is SacTown1 05-07-2005, 07:06 PM I dont think they would do that but they would definatly put him in the top 5 or higher. I actually think alot will think that X slipped more then Taylor beat him True, a win for Taylor get him a top 5-10 p4p ranking, but it would be moreso due to B-Hop slipping than Taylor being great... Once the dust settles this Summer, Floyd will have claimed the p4p crown from the majority of the Floyd lovers & haters IMO, he's just way too good to lose to Gatti, and if he whips Cotto in November he'll be #1 by a long shot Shaolin Bushido 05-07-2005, 07:06 PM Hopkins/PBF in a dead heat. Cant'take nothin from the old man, yet. His determination and savvy levels the field. The Troll 05-07-2005, 07:10 PM Thats BS if you ask me. Also Trinidad destroyed Ricardo Mayorga who gave a hell of a fit to Corey Spinks,(Spinks only won by MD) and beat Vernon Forest twice who was ranked very high P4P. So a Trinidad win vs Wright definitely puts him contention. elveiel 05-07-2005, 07:12 PM Taylor has looked pretty good and just because X has slipped doesnt mean he should retire. He can slip and still be better then everyone even though I dont think he is I agree that Taylor has looked good so i could understand why people give him a good chance, but a few years ago Hopkins would be the clear favourite. A younger version of Hopkins wouldnt have run away from a very average fighter like Eastman, i just think when you have done it all you should retire at the top of your game. elveiel 05-07-2005, 07:16 PM True, a win for Taylor get him a top 5-10 p4p ranking, but it would be moreso due to B-Hop slipping than Taylor being great... Lets say both Hatton and Taylor KO their opponents(Tszyu and Hopkins) in the 6th round. who do you rate higher P4P?? Lets say both Hatton and Taylor KO their opponents(Tszyu and Hopkins) in the 6th round. who do you rate higher P4P?? hmmmm good question, I'd go with Hatton higher on the p4p chart, simply due to his past victories, which rank just a tad higher than Taylor's previous wins.... still though, tought to see Hatton pulling this one out, went Tszyu is on point he's scary elveiel 05-07-2005, 07:21 PM Taylor because whether valid or not Hopkins is held in higher regard than Tzyu. Thats probably true, i think Tszyus better than Hopkins at the moment but i know most fans think Hopkins is number 1 P4P. P4P or not i'd rather face Hopkins than Tszyu, Tszyu's strength and power is unreal for his size. EXIGE 05-07-2005, 07:26 PM Naz - if he was still around. Tszyu - gonna lose to hatton though. Howard Eastman - beat him but Hopkins was *****. (so tech. lost) Tyson - in his early days. And a couple more but cant think... NAB 05-07-2005, 08:49 PM Naz - if he was still around. Its hard too consider Toney in a P4P fight because of his big belly, especially when you consider much body fat Hopkins has. BANE206 05-10-2005, 02:27 PM MAB,RJJ,TITO (Rematch), TARVER, Tszyu and the list goes on. B-Hop is good but pound for pound with the best in all divisions he isnt. I'd say: Tszyu Pacquiao Morales Tszyu Castillo Calzaghe Mayweather jr Why would Hopkins be rated as #1 P4P champ if someone can beat him? Don't think it would make any sense, would it? But the person who can beat Hopkins and has.. is RJJ! Martin (Top Knowledge) 05-10-2005, 02:51 PM It would be nice if Hopkins actually did fight Joe Calzaghe... It would clear up this discussion. Tito, De la Hoya, Taylor, Lacy, **** even Vargas would mop the floor with this guy. & by the way Tszyu will smash on Hatton. ****in British Comedians! Brz_Pugilist 05-10-2005, 06:55 PM Bernard is still P4P number 1.Someone needs to take that title away from him until he is beaten.I think Taylor might be that guy that beats him, which can open the door for Kostya and Mayweather. |
