I was so disappointed with Viloria's loss over the weekend...
though it was much to my dismay, i think Tamara did a good job of standing up against Brian. Carlos was almost eating every body punch but he still manages to engage on an inside fight. Brian was showing his patience, but gas ran out earlier than his patience... too bad for losing his belt...

On another note, i hated watching Donnie Nietes' performance during the undercards. To think that a last minute replacement almost had him, he couldn't even finish him off nicely. The ref stopped the fight because "Negrito"'s corner gave him water instead of just washing the fallen mouth-piece and giving it back to their boxer --> overall, i still think Nietes is overrated... Like the way Boomboom is... is every ALA boxer like this?(just my opinion)

Care to share your thoughts peeps???

Good day!

Good day!
the tamara-villoria fight was really disappointing..
i really felt Villoria had the win, not until after round
7 started.. It was a close fight, not bad for a rematch.

as for Nietes, i feel it was a subpar performance, but
i'm not that disappointed. My hopes w/ Nietes is not
that high.. on the other hand, i am proud of what
Nietes have done, a win is a win..

Jimrex made a comeback fight but i did not see it..
he won, good for him.

yeah..im disappointed also of Viloria's loss..but at least, he was a participant of a fight of the year candidate. I hope he comes back again. I think more Filipinos will now support him for a performance like that.

nietes is not overrated he made a name for himself and have defended his belt a few times already, even defended it at the challenger's backyard ...

IMHO he is an overachiever and is underated ...

hmmm... honestly and seriously though, this is the 2nd time i've seen how nietes' performance was slowly degrading as the rounds pass. --> how much more that he just had to do the fight, since he was fighting a last minute replacement... he could have shown more class during the fight...

maybe he is an overachiever... but im not sure he is "that" underrated...
that is why i said i thought he is overrated... well, there is so much room for improvement... it just depends on how his team will review his just recent match...

Same thoughts brother... after round 7 i just thought "what the hell just happened?"... indeed it was close a fight! there should be a rematch!!!

i'd also like to see and follow how tamara will progress in his next fights. he looks promising to me.

TBH, i did not catch the fights, just the recaps.
Judging from that, the outcome was a disappointment, but i cannot judge Brian harshly, he gave it his all, the guy got hospitalized out of sheer exhaustion, so i can't ask for more. What i would like to tell him though, is that he should recognize his limits and try to be economic with his efforts, instead of outright trying to ignore it. You're a fighter who gasses out, no shame in that, try to work with that in mind, don't fight it. Learn to clinch more too. Hmm, maybe he should talk to heavyweights and learn how to manage his fuel :D

As for Nietes, he is overachieving considering how 'beatable' he has looked even before. Good job. I only hope he and other ALA 'gass out' boys try to do more high altitude training. It looks good on JMM, Donaire, so it wouldn't hurt to try.

let's just say Nietes is achieving things better than his talent can..

parang isang athlete na hindi naman athletic pero nagiging best player..
not bad if you ask me..

may mga ganun talagang tao.. like I always say about Nietes.. the best thing about him is he finds his way to win with his very little resources..
