has anyone heard what's happenin with Joe Mesi? He's one of my favorite current fighters and I've read this article that he has a brain hemerage now or something? I've checked out his site but it doesn't seem to shed any light into the situation. Anyone know if he's gonna box again or has he retired or whats goin on?

His camp hasn't really said too much. I think they are keeping a low profile about it. They did admit the Joe had a brain hemotoma. I think he is done as a fighter because he will not be licensed because of it!

If you're a Mesi fan, you should probably be glad he's done, he wasn't going to go much further up the ladder without getting beaten badly or even - if medical reports are true - seriously hurt.

Yeah, Joe was done. He got as far as he could until running into good fighters finally. He commented before the fight with Jirov that Jirov wouldn't be able to hit him hard enough or thinks Jirov should stay in that weight class because he had just moved up. Well look what happened. He went down 3 times and barely survived. Decent power/stamina, no chin. He was another Vladimir waiting to be exposed. This brain thing could have saved him from something worse. I'm glad they came out with it(although low), and hopefully he won't be licensed to fight anywhere again. This decision will definitely mean life or death.

I think if he continues to fight he'll get seriously hurt.
