Sakio Bika has missed a wonderful opportunity here. There had better be a very good reason why this fight has been cancelled. Don't just say that it was about the money.

Bika often visits these forums and he always comes into the aussie forum for a little chat.

I'm dissapointed that he didn't agree to whatever terms were offered (within reason). The reward far outweighed the risk. What else is he going to do with his career? The only other top guy/big payday in the division is Bute, who he's already fought and is unlikely to get a rematch with.

Yeah exactly. On the surface, seems to be a really really poor decision.

I can't work this one out, unless it was at a rediculous split moneywise or a rigged panel.

He had American work visa issues. Basically he applied for a visa renewal in November, but it took the US officials forever to approve his documents. The Visa came through a couple of days after the deadline for him to sign for the Green fight. He basically had no guarantees as to when the work visa would be approved or if it would be approved at all. It's all in Upham's column on Seconds out.

Real bad luck for Sakio.

Now it looks like Bika has been stripped of his IBO belt for inactivity....what next for Bika?

An IBO title means jack ****, to be fair.

Apparently he's facing Brinkley in an elimator for the IBF title. If he gets past that, I don't really see a rematch with Bute going any differently.

Shame he can't get a shot at one of the European 'world' champions. I've no idea if he'd win, but he'd have a better chance against them than against Bute.

Wait, who was Sakio meant to fight?

Allan Green. The winner was to replace JT in the Super Six.

Bika claims that he couldn't do it because of 'travel problems' or something like that. Seemed pretty strange to me, and dissapointing because it would've been a very good fight and I felt Bika had a good chance of winning.

Apparently he had trouble obtaining a visa to the US.

Bika has been to the states so many times and he uses the visa as a reason :lame:
