Best of luck, and great name there!!! Thought something was familiar.

One thing is that amateur fights can get stopped very prematurely compared to pro fights and standing eight counts are given out like confetti!!!

Condition and technique are very important and expect to feel quite tired fairly quickly, quicker than in sparring. The adrenaline of the occasion can do this, so stay as calm as possible and expect a fast start!!!

Best of luck. Just try not to be overwhelmed and remember he will be just as nervous as you. Just try to take deep breaths before you enter the ring, try and stay calm and just focus on keeping your technique and not getting into a wild brawl. If he comes blasting at you, don't back up, take the shots on your gloves and fire back with straight shots. And remember, no one in their first fight will be able to sustain a hellish pace like some of them come out with, so if he does come out throwing bombs like crazy, just stay calm, defend and counter, wait for the storm to pass, then turn up the heat when you see him starting to fade.

Have you been training hard? Are you conditioned properly? Having you been getting your sparring in? Do you feel like your technique is sound?

If you have answered yes to these questions, you are in a good position to get a W! Best of luck. Let us know how you do...win or lose.

Just try to stay relaxed and use the skills you've learned in training. If you just go in there and go nuts and start throwing nothing but bombs, what was the point of training?

Go for the body....hard. You'll both probably be dead tired by the third round (maybe earlier) but he'll be more tired if you whack him to the body hard and often.

Good luck.

I'll wish you the best of luck. And don't get worried if you get very nervous, cause this will keep you sharp and healthy in there. It's not a war, it is a sport. So go out there and enjoy it. Most guys I've seen fight for the first time, get's tired after the first round cause they're so excited and want to rip their opponents head off in the first round. Just go in there with you straight punches, 1-2, and then move and 1-2 again. And then mix it up by throwing a straight right or straight left and a right to the middle section of his stomach. I'd actually start my fight with this last called combination, straight high and a hard right into his stomach, cause most people aren't really warmed up or protecting their body very well in their first fights. Listen to your trainer at all times, he knows what to do. And I mean it, LISTEN!

From My Personal Experience 1st Amatuer Fight
- I was extremely nervous
- The pace was really intense and I gassed quickly so conditioning is very important
- I intended to just do 1-2 but as soon as i got hit i panicked and started with the hayemakers, and i lost but at least i learned for my next fight

good luck!

anything can happen in an amateur fight. one of my kids ( not really mine, i just coach them) was up at the bronze gloves last weekend, he knocked the other kid out in 16 seconds, then got stopped in the next fight. the other two lost their fights, one got robbed, he should have won and my girl got outboxed. it's all good though, just have fun in there, you'll feel great to get the 1st under your belt.

- Remember to do your roadwork. The fighter in the better condition wins the fight in most cases.

- No matter how hard you get hit, no matter how hard you hit him, no matter how little or how much action is happening keep your chin down and your hands up. Keep repeating that in your head as your fighting.

- Relax, enjoy the fight you will have many more so there is no need to worry excessively over a single fight. I remind myself of this all the time to this day.

- Throw straight punches, often times when two inexperienced fighters get hit hard or hit another fighter hard they get too excited and begin to throw looping quasi-hook arm punches. Just remember no matter how bad/good your doing to relax and calm down and focus on the simple things chin down, hands up, breathe out when you punch, throw straight punches and move your feet when he punches to take some of the pressure off.

- Most of all enjoy yourself.

Good luck hope you do well in your first fight :boxing:.

Dumb ass responses, this is what you should expect....

Expect everything you learned to go straight out the window because your not gonna do any of it. By the time you settle down, the fight is over.

Knowing this will keep you from panicing. You should do fine padawaan.

i think this is a very good answer

because unless you have really really solid nerve, you're going to forget it all

just relax..breathe..and keep your punches sharp and straight
